coreg side effects doctor

I was just put on coreg since june6th and have been having severe headaches from it and tiredness. Is there any side effects between these three that can give me these headaches? I was fine until I was out on coreg.

m not the doctor but I know exactly what you mean regarding the side effects from Coreg. I was put on it for a little over a year due to an aneurysm in my ascending aorta and the cardio wants my blood pressure kept very low. Like you, I am still lightheaded/off balance on occasion. I walk on a daily basis and even a brisk pace fails to get my heart rate out of the 70s. (Of course with the aneurysm I'm not supposed to get my heart rate very high.

When I took Verapamil (a CCB), the side effects were so terrible that within 5 days I ended up in ER. They stopped the med. Now I take Diltiazem (also a CCB) and it's not nearly so bad. The first couple weeks I had some dizziness and whopper headaches. Now I'm left with a bit of brain fog and fatigue; I don't have the pep I had before but it does help the tachycardia and chest pain.

also doctor said very few people have problems on this med Coreg ? I tend not to belive that, as im reading all the side effects listed !! there are meny ! and it reads far worse than other brands of beta blockers. Improper dose of medication can have effect on the stress test, but the doctor should know your medication and possible side effects. If you play 12 holes of golf without a cart, that would indicate you are fairly healthy, if you carry your own clubs! You may want to discuss your medication with your doctor...sometimes it is a trial and error procedure until the a med is determined effective and minimum or no side effects.

I just got a refill of my Carvedilol (3.125mg) I take two pills in the morning and two in the evening and it has been this way since August '09. I read the side effects just out of curiosity and I had nothing better to do and what I found was, "Check with your Dr. as soon as possible If you experience cold or numb legs or feet or unusual leg pain". However recently I have noticed that the color of my blood (taken to test blood sugar) is a distinct chocolate-brown color similar to whenever I have had to use Nitro tabs/patches for angina attacks. I have also been affected by regular bouts of diarrhea. Are these side effects to be concerned about given the somewhat more beneficial effects and if so what could I do about them? But I did not have high blood pressure, which can be dangerous if untreated. I had much less side effects on that Beta Blocker (the Coreg), but it's still a beta blocker. And even so, it might not be the best one for you. I think toprol, of all the betas probably has the most side effects. Keep pushing your docs, there are other beta blockers with less side effects.

Did you try to google the med and look under side effects? Besides, in your message you said the doctor wanted you to stop Tiazac and start the Coreg. Have you tried that yet? One thing with heart meds, it's not a good idea to start and stop them. Plus it may take a month or two for the initial side effects to settle down. Try not to be discouraged. When I first started Diltiazem I had monster headaches for the first 2 weeks and felt like my brain was full of fuzz.

I am only 6 ft and 170 lbs. and the dosage you take for coreg would probably cause side effects for me, but fortunately my present regimen of medication serves me well.

My cariologist wants my blood pressure less than 120/80, and as low as possible without side effects. The side effects from the metoprolol have gotten a little better - I don't feel as exhausted, though as I type this my heart rate is 52 bpm. Plus when I go walking I can't get my heart rate above 95 bpm. Does any one have any comments on the pros and cons of carvedilol versus metoprolol?

He decided to stop taking his coreg and lisinopril last week. He is weaning himself down. I think he is crazy for doing this -- especially without telling the doctor .

Hello, My name is Anatoly Petrov and I have I had a heart attack on 09/21/09. After my bare metal stents were clogged and I almost got another heart attack, a DES was placed inside those two. Since then I have been having chest pains. I am currently on Plavix, Aspirin, Simvastatin, Lisinopril and Carvedilol/Coreg/. Stopped Lisinopril for a little bit and felt much better- unfortunately my blood pressure went a little up.

I have extremely dry skin and am on a couple of blood pressure lowering drugs. I think this is perhaps more part of the aging process. I could be wrong though. As I have aged I have noticed my skin seems to be thinner as I cut so easily. And let's not start me up on the bruising.

About a month ago my cardio had switched me to a new BB called Bystolic which did a better job in lowering my BP but had to go off it because of side effects. I was taking 100mg atenolol without food for hypertension but my glucose went up so my doctor switched me to Coreg 25mg twice a day. He said it does not matter if you take it with or without food. All i keep reading is to take with food....

This is great if you have no problems with side effects , but if you do, PLEASE let your Doctor know. I am a 12 year CHF suvivor, had an initial EF of 18% which is not up 45%. During my adventure with heart diease I found I could not, and in some cases refused to tolerate a number of the most commonly prescribed drugs. Among them were coreg, any beta blocker, lipitor and others.
