Coreg medication

Common Questions and Answers about Coreg medication

coreg

Avatar n tn On my own, I have experimented with taking only the night time coreg and other meds. The next morning I had more energy. Is there another medication I can take that would give me the benefits of coreg without the fatigue?
Avatar n tn I had a minor heart attack in August 2008 and I had 5 stents put in. I was started on coreg 6.25 two tmes per day. The dr recently reduced me to 3.125 because of weight gain. I am still gaining weight. I decided to stop it altogether and did not tell my dr. My resting pulse is up as well as my pulse rate upon exertion. I just stopped the coreg. Will this regulate itself in a few days.
Avatar f tn It is a combination of Coreg and Tropol XL, I believe. This gives all the benefits of Coreg and reduces the tiredness that people complain about. Our relatives in Europe use the medication and have energy to travel to US and all around the states. I am not sure what the name will be of the medication when it becomes available in the US. Salmon, fish oil, and dark chocolate have been shown to raise HDL levels. Your level should be in the 50's if you can get it there.
475570 tn?1280941363 I take coreg twice a day, but coreg cr is a slow release medication for once a day. The recommendation is 1 capsule each morning wih breakfast that will help lower blood pressure all day and all night.
475570 tn?1280941363 It seems logical to take the medication with the morning meal. I take Coreg twice a day, rather than Coreg CR one a day with the extended release. My blood pressure and heart rate is very good.
Avatar n tn Dilated cardiomyopathy often is the result of an overworked heart. The medication (coreg and lisonpril) reduces the heart workload resulting in reverse remodeling of the heart and increased EF (ejection fraction of blood pumped with each heartbeat). Six years ago I had enlarged (remodeled) left ventricle and an EF 19-29% and hospitalized for heart failure...no symptoms until CHF...thought I was very healthy, and shocked to hear I had had a silent heart attack).
Avatar f tn Other than lowering your pulse and blood pressure, if you took Coreg but did not need it, could it cause other damage? What symptoms would you have? I am on Coreg as a trial to see if it fixes my chronic shortness of breath. I just wondered if it was safe to do so or if it could cause permanent damage if in fact I did not need it.
Avatar n tn Need to protect your stomach and I am wondering if 243mg daily would cause stomach irritation. You have diabetes also? Coreg is the best medication for heart problems. I do not see why the enema would cause any harm, but you can check with your hospital pharmacy or your doctor just in case.
Avatar m tn I would like to have kids but I am so scared that I may have a child with birth defects because of the medication I take. I take Coreg, Furosemide And Lisinopril. I am so afraid that the medication I take may cause a birth defect if I have a child. Does anyone anything about these medications and what they might do or not do, when trying to have children. Is there anything I need to do or be aware of. Thanks in advance.
1198633 tn?1341182388 I have recently stopped taking Coreg 6.25ng and started on Cozaar 50mg to manage my blood pressure which is working out really great according to measurements. I was weaned from Coreg by taking just my dosage at night and skipping the morning one for two weeks and then to stop. Since about a week after I cut down to once a day I started to notice a constant pounding heart.
Avatar n tn I had the problem with coreg (beta blocker and ace inhibitor). Coreg Cr is a single slow acting dose, and the same coreg dosage split to twice a day (morning and night) was more effective. Talk to your doctor.
Avatar f tn I have a friend - male- 68 who had a heart attack ~ 6 years ago. He takes a beta blocker - Coreg. I've known him for 3 years. During that time, he's always had, but now it's getting worse, a slow pulse & low Blood Pressure. Last night it was 84/54 pulse - 52. and he was feeling dizzy. Called the Dr. who said to drink fluids & take something salty - like saltine crackers. I just read up on Coreg - - beta blocker, and on low blood pressure.
Avatar n tn Coreg also has a component to stabilize heart rate. Do you or is it suspected you may be susceptable to tachyarrhythmia. A TWA and Coreg medication seem to imply. You can take a stress test, with the injection of a dye substance, to determine the viability of the damaged heart muscle. I had an MI 4 years ago with an EF29-13% and some heart muscle damage at the distal portion of the heart.
Avatar f tn I am 29 yrs old 120 lbs with no other health problems. I take 80 mgs extended release Coreg and 40 mgs of Benicar but my blood pressure still gets up to 170/105 and a resting heart rate of 120 sometimes. Is it possible that I just got used to the medication? I just had an angiogram and they gave me many medications but I was still fully awake which they said was odd. Could I possibly just have a high tolerance to medication? Also this is the first time that I really have been on any meds.
Avatar f tn In my opinion, experience and search Coreg is the best and main medication (with other pills) if you have low EF. Up until the EF improves like a year or more good to be on Coreg. If your doctor says not for you, ask him to explain why?
Avatar n tn Coreg is medication that helps lower the heart rate and bp. The stress test will evaluate one's physical condition a peak heart rate unmedicated, and how quickly the heart rae returns to normal within 3 minutes or so. Other phases of the test considered as well.

Avatar m tn If you do not want to suffer a heart attack or stroke, you need to take the Plavix and aspirin. Lipitor is a cholesterol medication that have proven studies showing reducing cholesterol and reducing some cholesterol buildup already there. The medications are your life line and you need to take them as prescribed by your doctor. Are you having current side effects from the medications?
Avatar m tn My medication was an ACE inhiitor and coreg (coreg is a dual mechanism with ACE inhibitor and beta blocker properities and helps dilate vessels and stabilize heart rate). Dilated cardiomyopathy is an enlargement of the left ventricle, and an enlarged LV can cause arrhythmia (irregular heat rate), and an enlarged LV decreases pumping strength (low EF).
