214864 tn?1229715239 Hey Darling - you can have my Diltiazem.
Avatar n tn The heart is capable of handling even those fast rates for quite awhile. try not to worry anout a sinus tachycardia, the worrying about it will make it much worse; be happy you have a healthy heart and go on and enjoy your life.
Avatar m tn The EKG must not have provided a cause for your tachycardia, because he has recommended a 24 hour monitor to capture any irregularity of electric signals. Arrhythmia is a fast heart rate and/or other symptoms. The fast heart rate can be sourced to the sinus node (heart's pacemaker) from there it goes to a node that regulates a normal rhythm, etc...an EKG should be able to diagnosed either condition Also, it could be the thyroid gland, etc.
Avatar n tn It is my understanding the medication is used to increase contractility of the pumping chambers. My medication for stablizing heart rate is a beta blocker (coreg) and an ACE inhibitor. My research: "Digoxin is contraindicated in patients with ventricular fibrillation. Digoxin should generally be avoided in patients with preserved left ventricular systolic function, although it has been used for ventricular rate control in the subgroup of patients with chronic atrial fibrillation.
Avatar m tn Diagnosed with CHF and DCM in 1999. Probably tachycardia-induced. Multiple ineffective DC cardioversions, months of amiodarone, years of Tikosyn, Sotalol, and so many other drugs. Had my 2nd ablation at the mayo clinic in 2007. Restored NSR for 24 hours until an echo-tech jammed the probe really hard into my chestwall, knocked back into permanent afib since then.
Avatar f tn EP study showed nonsustained atrial tachycardia versus atrial flutter, as well as atrial fibrillation. Positive for inducible nonsustained monomorphic ventricular tachycardia as well as inducible sustained ventricular tachycardia and ventricular fibrillation requiring defibrillation therpapy. 34-year old female. History of one syncopal episode and one pre-syncopal episode prior to diagnosis. Thanks for any light you can shed on my condition.
792040 tn?1237582438 Feb. 27th I was rushed to the hospital after going through 2 weeks of the worst fluttering, irregular beating inside my chest that was so bad i had not been able to sleep the week prior. While in the hospital they performed a Heart Cath...my arteries are wide open..(Dr. thought that could be the cause and wanted to eliminate 'blockages')...so I go home 3 days later with no meds and just today I went for my followup appt. and Dr. put me on Coreg and wants to wait 2 weeks.
Avatar f tn My electrophysiolgist/cardiologist prescribed Coreg and Lisinopril for my condition. I have episodes of ventricular tachycardia, apparently brought on by a focal wall abnormality in my left ventricle. I also have atrial fibrillation. I have an ICD as well. When I mention to other doctors that I take these medications, they insist I must have high blood pressure. I don't have high blood pressure and never have.
Avatar n tn So my doctor switched me to a small dose of Coreg. (I was also on Midodrine for a while to keep up my already low Blood Pressure, but it gave me headaches so I got switched to Florinef (to help retain salt?)) Well after a month or two of the Coreg I gave it up, it made me feel too "foggy" and zoned out. So I swithced to Nadolol 10mg and I was short of breath frequently and depressed.
Avatar m tn I have paroxysistic supraventricular tachycardia. I'm taking Coreg 6.25 and Rythmol (propafenone hidrochlorate)150mg once daily. I'm 85. Am I on the right medication please?
Avatar m tn My cardio has put me on coreg and has plans to do a cardio ablation next year. Should I be very concerned and should I have more extensive treatment?
Avatar n tn My husband is 55 years old and was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy 5 years ago (may have been alcoholic cardiomyopathy?) -- he has been on coreg and lisinopril for 5 years with very few side effects -- his cardiomyopathy has resoved and his heart is "healthy" back to normal size and function. He decided to stop taking his coreg and lisinopril last week. He is weaning himself down. I think he is crazy for doing this -- especially without telling the doctor .
Avatar m tn After the did the first stent they told us it would only be a month on Plavix but after the last episode they decided that he needed to be on it for a year. He is also taking 2 blood pressure pills, Coreg, and Zocor. So I guess it just depends on your case and your doctor.
Avatar m tn I've read not long ago about there being some lawsuits over Multaq and liver damage. Does anyone know if this drug truly is bad? I've read some of the reports saying to stay away from it. I'm only asking because my mother has Tachycardia, and the Coreg she is taking doesn't seem to be helping her fast heart beat much, lately anyways. The doctor said the next medicine he would try is Multaq (Dronedarone). But after reading about the lawsuit stuff it scares you off.
Avatar f tn I am a 27 year old female and have had palpitations or feeling of a skipped beat for a while. Recently I asked my primary dr. to send me to a cardiologist, who put me on a 30 day event monitor. Last Friday, I experienced a strong palpitation and transmitted the recording. Another doctor at the practice called (my dr. was on vacation) and said I had a ventricular tachycardia showing 6 beats and prescribed me 25 mg of Metroprolol to start immediately.
233622 tn?1279334905 I take Coreg for bp and tachycardia and am also taking Provigil. I get relief from my fatigue on just 100mg a day and have had no problem with the bp. I have noticed some mild tachycardia recently, but I think it may be connected to the recent switch to generic Coreg. I'm curious . . . can tachycardia be caused by MS?
Avatar f tn Have you been checked for carcinoid syndrome as well? Ask for a plasma free metanephrine blood test to check for pheochromocytoma. It is the most accurate. There is a support board for pheochromocytoma you can google it to find out more info.
Avatar m tn are your symtoms permanent, day and night with no break? The answer is important to me because I can be fit and normal for half the day and sick and ill the rest and no doc shows any interest except in tests and pains in the heart. This discussion is related to <a href="/posts/Heart-Disease/Allergies-to-drugs-Betas--thyroid/show/2178823">Allergies to drugs. Betas, thyroid</a>.
Avatar m tn On my next cardio visit I may have to ask for a higher Coreg dose but scared about the tiredness and decrease in HR effects. My experience with Coreg is that you have to increase it very gradually and always do so with meals. It also causes me to dream a lot which in turn brings on palps and elevated systolic BP. Did you ever notice this side effect?
