Coreg cr generic

Common Questions and Answers about Coreg cr generic

coreg

Avatar f tn My last visit the cardiologist actually has my wondering if I need to switch. I had been taking for the first time Coreg generic and I told the dr I was having trouble remembering to take the 2nd dose so was there a BP med that I could take once a day. I will say my blood pressure was very high in the office. I had forgotten my sheet (after a hectic morning) that gave bp readings for the last month. My pb had been good when taken at home which I shared.
475570 tn?1280941363 I take coreg twice a day, but coreg cr is a slow release medication for once a day. The recommendation is 1 capsule each morning wih breakfast that will help lower blood pressure all day and all night.
475570 tn?1280941363 It seems logical to take the medication with the morning meal. I take Coreg twice a day, rather than Coreg CR one a day with the extended release. My blood pressure and heart rate is very good.
Avatar m tn On the other hand, I decided to try the 10mg Coreg CR and it is not working. My blood pressure has gone from an average of 118/75 to an average of 130/80. Admittedly, that's still not bad, but it is kind of odd that it increased. Plus the coreg cr is 120 dollars for one month, I can't imagine how much the 20 mg costs. So it looks like I'll end up back on the metoprolol. Hopefully the tiredness will go away.
Avatar f tn He has always had very low heart rate and BP, however recently his physician has request him to start taking Coreg CR to help reduce cardiac workload. Our concern is that he already is bradycardic and the effects may worsen this symptom. Is this a routine or normal thing to do? This discussion is related to Beta-Blockers and bradycardia.
Avatar n tn I had the problem with coreg (beta blocker and ace inhibitor). Coreg Cr is a single slow acting dose, and the same coreg dosage split to twice a day (morning and night) was more effective. Talk to your doctor.
Avatar n tn As you probably know these are two names for the same exact same drug, one being the brand-name and the other the generic name. On a prescription a physician has the option of permitting a generic filling or restricting the filling to a brand-name. With the caveat that in the United States some general practicioners will refer you to a specialist before prescribing a drug that is used to treat heart failure there is no reason your physician should not respond favorably to your request.
Avatar m tn He has me dropping to 12.5 of the Coreg and 50mg of the Tenormin twice a day for 4 days and then 6.25 Coreg and 50 Tenormin twice a day for 4 days, and then only the Tenormin 50 to 75 twice a day depending on BP numbers. Any one have any knowledge or thoughts about this? BTW I trust my Cardiologist but am nervous anytime I have to change meds!
214864 tn?1229715239 That is when my cardiologist switched me to Coreg CR. Since then my angina has been much better and I like Coreg for the alpha blocker it has. It is the number 1 recommended beta blocker for heart failure. Yest I cannot take the weight gain, which is a side effect that a high percentage of people who take it have gained lots of weight. You can go to "ask a patient".com and look up what people have written about side effects of many, many drugs. Bystolic is not listed.
Avatar m tn ) Jack Avoid drinking alcohol within 2 hours before or after taking extended-release carvedilol (Coreg CR). Also avoid taking medicines or other products that might contain alcohol. Alcohol may cause the carvedilol in Coreg CR to be released too quickly into the body. http://www.drugs.com/coreg.
Avatar n tn I was taking Coreg CR (slow release) single dose of 25mg once a day. I went back to 12,5 mg twice a day,and that works for me. I take an ACE inhibitor twice a day with coreg just before a meal. That has been regimen for years...Why are you on such a high dosage? Do you function OK the next day when you take the dose at night?. Is your heart rate normal...less than 100 at rest? The doctor probably wants you take a dosage during the day when you are more active to help manage heart rate.
Avatar m tn The ablation helped though, flutter was gone, vagal sensitivity was gone and eventually with the help of 80 mg a day (CR) of Coreg, plus digoxin, ACE inhibitor, diuretic and more... my hard rate settled down into the 70's and my ejection fraction improved to 60%! Awesome. But 6 months ago started developing asthma symptoms, heart behaving worse, now my average rate is 120 and my local EP is recommending "ablate and pace" with a dual-chamber device.
Avatar m tn After that he will do a stress test. Also he put me on Coreg CR. I have been extremely anxious as I really have no idea what is wrong. Has anyone experienced anything like this? Thanks for any feedback you could give me.
808920 tn?1268057768 At present time I am on Coreg CR, simvastatin, 81 mg. 81 mg aspirin. I was following a low-salt diet at the advice of my doctors but have since been instructed to increase my daily salt intake. I have had a echocardiogram w/bubble test, stress test, several ultrasounds with results indicating that a heart cath is not necessary. My questions are 1. Has anyone experienced skin sensitivity around the left side area and some aching in the ribs? 2.
Avatar f tn I may call my Dr about this generic brand. I did check into Walmart and they do not have the CR in generic. However, I am now feeling emotions I haven't felt in a long time. I cry at sad movies, enjoy going out more, have a little more energy and have kept the somewhat outgoing nature that I developed while taking them. I think I like these feelings!!
Avatar m tn ve seen no blood. I am a 55y/o male.
1796524 tn?1315586487 Watch out for "CR", "XR" and "SR" versions of meds. As far as I know, only Wellbutrin "CR" and Effexor "XR" are superior than the originals. I was taking 6mg's of Klonopin/day for many years before swiching to Xanax, also 6mg's/day. I suffer severe anxiety, and although the K-pins were O.K., they took too long to work and didn't stop panic attacks.
Avatar n tn anyway, we finally moved and I was able to see my old doctor for a checkup. She prescribed Paxil CR for panic, and we also found out I had ovarian cancer. I had surgery, all is fine for now. still on the Paxil CR 25 mg. 9 months ago my husband was laid off, and still is. We finally qualified for state medical coverage, but it does not cover Paxil or Paroxetine. My Dr. switched me to Prozac 20 mg. whcih they do pay for.
Avatar f tn Many of us take a generic named Metoprolol to slow our heart rate...in my case my HR is always high and I do not have an ICD/Pacemaker.
Avatar f tn One of the BP meds I take daily is generic Coreg 25mgs, twice daily. I too noticed it says to take with food, which I did until I had been on it for a month - then I tried taking it a few times without food. I had no change in any side effects (dizziness. etc), so for me, it doesn't seem to matter -but then again, it's only one of 3 BPmeds I'm currently taking to control my BP, so that may be a factor as well.
467977 tn?1262714747 Does anyone know if these are the same? I used to take Paroxetine generic (civilian world) and now realized the army pharmacy gives me Paxil but they label it "Paxil (Paroxetine)" on the bottle....hmmmmmmmmm.............
Avatar m tn First observation I know is correct, Coreg and Carvedilol are the exact same drug, except Carvedilol is the generic form of Coreg. Increasing the combination would mean over 120mg, an unheard of dosage. You are already taking a gorilla dose and that can cause a drop of EF in my opinion. EF ratings fluctuate. I'd ask for a BNP test that is used to determine the level of CHF one has. Usually less than 100 indicates no CHF.
1569985 tn?1328247482 I have no experience with Norplace, but I do take generic everything... now even on Metoprolol regular release to get the generic. The generic is about the cost of aspirin (well a bit more but in that price range) and I take Warfarin. I started on Toprol XR then Metorprolol SR, now Metoprolol which I take twice a day (12 hours). Warfarin is just once a day. All generics work for me, or work as well.
Avatar f tn Hi all, I have been on Paxil Cr for a few years. 25 mg. It has worked really well for my panic attacks but recently I lost insurance and won't be eligible for medicare for 8 months so I ordered my prescription from online pharmacy which I have done before with no problem. Since I was low on my meds and didn't want to run out before it got here I reduced dosage. Took 1/2 pill every other day only problem I had was balance issues which got better after a week.
