Common Questions and Answers about Coreg cr 10 mg

coreg

Avatar m tn My cardio gave me some samples of 10 mg coreg to take once a day and a prescription to fill if the side effects from the metoprolol do not get any better. The side effects from the metoprolol have gotten a little better - I don't feel as exhausted, though as I type this my heart rate is 52 bpm. Plus when I go walking I can't get my heart rate above 95 bpm. Does any one have any comments on the pros and cons of carvedilol versus metoprolol?
214864 tn?1229715239 You have to go to at least 10 mg to get the same HR reduction as 25 mg of atenolol. For BP 5 mg of bystolic gives you the same BP reduction as 50 mg of atenolol.
Avatar f tn He has always had very low heart rate and BP, however recently his physician has request him to start taking Coreg CR to help reduce cardiac workload. Our concern is that he already is bradycardic and the effects may worsen this symptom. Is this a routine or normal thing to do? 808920 tn?1268057768 At present time I am on Coreg CR, simvastatin, 81 mg. 81 mg aspirin. I was following a low-salt diet at the advice of my doctors but have since been instructed to increase my daily salt intake. I have had a echocardiogram w/bubble test, stress test, several ultrasounds with results indicating that a heart cath is not necessary. My questions are 1. Has anyone experienced skin sensitivity around the left side area and some aching in the ribs? 2.
475570 tn?1280941363 I take coreg twice a day, but coreg cr is a slow release medication for once a day. The recommendation is 1 capsule each morning wih breakfast that will help lower blood pressure all day and all night.
Avatar n tn I have CHF and EF of 25%, currently on 80 mg of Coreg and 30 mg lisinopril along with lasixs. I asked my doctor the same question. I was informed that if I stopped the Coreg my heart would eventually return to the same EF of 25%. Not a wise thing to stop the medication. You are at risk for Sudden Death Syndrome. If your heart were to get into an irregular rythm you could die. Please advise him to talk to his doctor.
475570 tn?1280941363 It seems logical to take the medication with the morning meal. I take Coreg twice a day, rather than Coreg CR one a day with the extended release. My blood pressure and heart rate is very good.
Avatar m tn The ablation helped though, flutter was gone, vagal sensitivity was gone and eventually with the help of 80 mg a day (CR) of Coreg, plus digoxin, ACE inhibitor, diuretic and more... my hard rate settled down into the 70's and my ejection fraction improved to 60%! Awesome. But 6 months ago started developing asthma symptoms, heart behaving worse, now my average rate is 120 and my local EP is recommending "ablate and pace" with a dual-chamber device.
Avatar n tn I had the problem with coreg (beta blocker and ace inhibitor). Coreg Cr is a single slow acting dose, and the same coreg dosage split to twice a day (morning and night) was more effective. Talk to your doctor.
529295 tn?1212772180 25 is normal from taking ,diovan 320,tekturner150,and my fluid pill torsemide 40 mg daily.I have been on coreg cr 80 mg,tekturner 150 mg,diovan 320,and clonidine 0.1 as needed if it was up over 150. with all thes meds they are not working...I think the coreg cr has something to do with my BP going up 5 hrs after taking it.It has happened to many xs at nite after taking that pill.I ask the Dr to take me off of it and he did ..No More feeling weird at nite .
Avatar n tn I also was taking 50 mg of coreg I felt fatigue and just not feeling good. I cut to 25 and feel much more energy plus just plain feel better. I also am now on lexapro which really helps.
Avatar n tn I was first put on Lisinopril which after 10 days did not bring my blood pressure down. At which point my doctor wanted to put me on Coreg CR. I have asthma, and have been suffering somewhat from shortness of breath so I had concerns being put on a beta blocker. So he put me on Norvasc. I have been on that since May 29th. My blood pressures are still running somewhat high at times. The problem is the diastolic and the heart rate.
Avatar n tn I take 25 mg twice daily, along with 120 mg. lasix, and 90 mg dialtiazem 3 x day. As far as I know I'm still at 15% EF, and the doc wants to put a defib into my chest. In the next week or so, I'll be going through another echocardiogram to see if I've had any improvement, but I'm pretty sure I know what the outcome of that will be, since my strength has deminished profoundly in the last month.
Avatar n tn Hi, I was on Paxil about 20 mg for about 10 years. I weaned down to 10 mg for a couple of weeks and then off and didn't have a problem. However, the paxil never did help my anxiety (only worked on depression for me). Several people I know of have had no problem with weaning off of it. However, I purposely did not read any websites because I am susceptible to suggestion so if I had read any withdrawal symptoms, I might have suffered them myself.
Avatar f tn I have had a few tests and visits with a cardiologist. My family doctor recommended this doctor after an abnormal EKG. My last visit the cardiologist actually has my wondering if I need to switch. I had been taking for the first time Coreg generic and I told the dr I was having trouble remembering to take the 2nd dose so was there a BP med that I could take once a day. I will say my blood pressure was very high in the office.
Avatar m tn I think over time I will come to view it as the medical community does, my personal safetynet. Now on 7.25mg coreg BID, 10 mg lisinopril QD, lipitor 40mg QD, zetia 5mg QD, Plavix 75mg QD, asprin 325mg QD, Pristique 50mg QD, 100mg co-q10 BID, fish oil 2500mg BID, Niaspan 2000 mg QD bedtime after asprin. HDL RX 2 tabs Bid. Cardilogist wants to gradually bring up coreg to 25mg BID and lisinopril 20mg QD. Cholesterol numbers are 110 total, 44 HDL and 58 LDL, Triglycerides are 86.
Avatar m tn ) Jack Avoid drinking alcohol within 2 hours before or after taking extended-release carvedilol (Coreg CR). Also avoid taking medicines or other products that might contain alcohol. Alcohol may cause the carvedilol in Coreg CR to be released too quickly into the body. http://www.drugs.com/coreg.
Avatar m tn My EF was in the 30's, and was slowly advanced to 25 mg Coreg twice a day, and 10 mg of Altace. My EF increased, but like you I had extreme fatigue issues, and I had several fainting episodes at night because of low blood pressure. The Coreg was reduced to 6.25 X 2 and the Altace reduced to 5mg, and I'm getting along fine.
Avatar n tn I was previously on 12.5 mg of Coreg 2X a day for high blood pressure. I am also taking 10mg of Lexapro a day for anxiety. This caused me to become very fatigued and my doctor attributed it to the Coreg so he switched me to 10mg Norvasc every day (after weaning off the Coreg for 3 days). This was 2 weeks ago and I'm still feeling the same fatigue. How long does Coreg stay in your system after you stop taking it?
Avatar m tn I think viral cardiomyopathy is a catch all when exact reason is unknown. I was originally prescribed 50 mg. of Coreg and 40 mg. of Lisinopril. Over the years I am down to 12.5 Corge and off Lisinopril although my left top half of my heart remains slightly enlarged. The coreg normally lowers the HR. My HR runs 48-50 BPM. Coreg's purpose is to lower HR and help the heart squeeze more blood with each beat to keep the heart from wearing out so quickly. How many mg.
Avatar n tn am meds are isosorbide 30mg plavix 75 mg zantac 150mg coreg 12.5 mg lotensin hctz 20-25 mg pm meds zantac 150 mg coreg 12.5 mg norvasc 10 mg Can you give me a clue its driving me crazy should we not even take his bp first thing in the am??
Avatar m tn After that he will do a stress test. Also he put me on Coreg CR. I have been extremely anxious as I really have no idea what is wrong. Has anyone experienced anything like this? Thanks for any feedback you could give me.
