coreg

Avatar f tn She did blood tests and did an ultrasound all blood tests came back normal and no blood clots. The pain in my muscles has taken over my whole body, it hurts to walk, carry my 4 month old son (who I almost dropped last night), bend over and basically move. I went into the emergency room one day because it was really hard to swallow and i couldn't feel my throat. The ER doc gave me some vicidan for the pain and it didn't help at all.
406412 tn?1217438384 .Correg is a beta blocker and by blocking the receptors it reduces the heart's rate and FORCE of contraction and thereby reduces the work of the heart. Coreg also blocks adrenergic receptors (QACE inhibitor) on arteries and causes the arteries to relax and the blood pressure to fall. The drop in blood pressure further reduces the work of the heart since it is easier to pump blood against a lower pressure.
Avatar m tn Since I felt great I thought reading on ejection fraction had to be wrong, went for second opinion at Mayo Clinic, did cardiac mri, showed major damage to heart muscle on left and bottom of heart that was through entire depth of muscle, right and top of heart seemed to be unaffected.Estimated ejection fraction was 25. Now am scheduled for ICD implant, and aggressive coreg/lisinopril combo with previous meds. scared to death any opinion on prognosis & treatment?
Avatar m tn I was recently diagnosed with POTS and I was put on Coreg. Can Coreg cause muscle spasms? Is it the POTS? Something else entirely? I get them very frequently all over my body. Any responses would be greatly appreciated!
Avatar f tn What should I expect medically from my cardiologist? I have not seen him as an outpatient yet and the plan now is to try Coreg. What is causing the low EF? What is the prognosis? I am a 40 year old female, non-smoker, diet controlled diabetic, borderline cholesterol and approximately 60lbs overweight.
Avatar m tn cough resolved but I have been having early morning rapid heart beat (wakes me up) in recent weeks and my tinnitus has become much worse. My upper back pain which started while on drugs is also worse since the dosage went up. I have no natural allergies but have some chemical sensitivity to chlorine I just noticed that coreg may be associated with tinnitus in a very small fraction of people, maybe 1% or less, and that arrythmia may also be a side effect.
Avatar f tn My electrophysiolgist/cardiologist prescribed Coreg and Lisinopril for my condition. I have episodes of ventricular tachycardia, apparently brought on by a focal wall abnormality in my left ventricle. I also have atrial fibrillation. I have an ICD as well. When I mention to other doctors that I take these medications, they insist I must have high blood pressure. I don't have high blood pressure and never have.
808920 tn?1268057768 Shoulder blade popping, muscle cramping on left side of back and joint discomfort? 3. Does anyone know what a normal recovery time is for myocarditis and is the side pain and shoulder popping/muscle cramping any side effects of this illness? I would like to communicate by email or phone with others that have had myocarditis. My email is tivy1960 at charter .dot. com. if anyone would like to chat about there results and symptoms with their recovery.
304450 tn?1192686333 CoQ10 (try Q-Absorb), L-Carnitine, A quality Fish Oil (Nordic Naturals). A Dr. Sinatra from Connecticut wrote a great book about this. These supplements vastly improve EF and quality of life with CHF. He has a website or you can go to Amazon, com and buy it off the internet, then go to www.iherb.com (the best place!!!) and order the supplements. I don't trust meds and these supplements have proven results. Also, kenkeith is right.
Avatar n tn s approval, I doubt there would be approval, but if your husband is foolish enough, then watch for any swollen legs, dry cough from lung edema, shortness of breath, faster heart rate, fatigue, and possibly chest pain...and possibly a high risk of cardiac arrest.
Avatar m tn This drug works with other heart medications such as Coreg to maximize amount of oxygen the heart muscle can assimulate, but it doesn't take the place of stents or bypass surgery. Ranexa won't open up the heart arteries. Are you scheduled for a catherization?
Avatar f tn It is a combination of Coreg and Tropol XL, I believe. This gives all the benefits of Coreg and reduces the tiredness that people complain about. Our relatives in Europe use the medication and have energy to travel to US and all around the states. I am not sure what the name will be of the medication when it becomes available in the US. Salmon, fish oil, and dark chocolate have been shown to raise HDL levels. Your level should be in the 50's if you can get it there.
Avatar f tn Other than lowering your pulse and blood pressure, if you took Coreg but did not need it, could it cause other damage? What symptoms would you have? I am on Coreg as a trial to see if it fixes my chronic shortness of breath. I just wondered if it was safe to do so or if it could cause permanent damage if in fact I did not need it.
Avatar f tn If you have symptoms of angina, rest and the symptoms should go away. If you start to get severe chest pain especially in the center of your chest, make sure to chew up an aspirin and see a doctor.
721346 tn?1231003778 The underlying cause can be treated by dilating vessels,(opening and relaxing vessels; coreg, beta blocker is the appropriate medication). Years ago my EF was 29 - 13%, an enlarged (dilated) left ventricle, ischemia, etc. and medication reversed remodeling of the LV, reduced bp, slowed heart rate, etc. and today my EF is 59%.
Avatar n tn I had the problem with coreg (beta blocker and ace inhibitor). Coreg Cr is a single slow acting dose, and the same coreg dosage split to twice a day (morning and night) was more effective. Talk to your doctor.
Avatar m tn quadruple Coreg and triple Carvedilol. And get an ICD. Its the standard protocol, they say. But again, I feel great ... and with my long-standing exercise program (brisk walk 4 days/week for 4 miles plus another walk 1 day/week between 7.5-9.5 miles) and a very healthy diet, I see no reason to agree. What am I looking for? At a bare minimum, a supportive doctor who is willing to think outside the "standard protocol" box ...
Avatar n tn He takes several meds including plavix and coreg. He also gets 160-200mg of lasix shot through a pic line in his arm each day. Once or twice a week he gets metalazone if he gains a few pounds. His heart rate has gone from being in the 70s and 80s to sometimes as low as 45 to jumping as high as 130. Is the change in the heart rate and blood pressure a sign of worsening heart disease? Does it indicate any time frame we are dealing with?
Avatar f tn s really been bothering me is this chest pains I been having I jus want to the Dr couple of weeks ago everything came back fine but I woke up this morning with the sharp pains in my chest by my heart its scary but I know its anxiety because I had this before and went to the ER and got blood work EGK and xray of my chest and heart and I was fine anxiety makes me think everything is wrong with me and matter of fact anxiety is probably the reason I have the high blood pressure just very scared have
Avatar f tn I am wondering if long term protonix use has been linked to joint and muscle pain as well as hearing loss. I have been taking proton pump inhibitors for 18 years and have just begun hearing about bone loss and other issues. I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia after finally seeing a doctor about the pain that I have endured for over 10 years.
63984 tn?1385437939 I am in a somewhat similar position with CABG, several stents and still afflicted with angina. I am also on Coreg, statin, DiovanHZT, fishoil and plavix. I was given a sample of Ranexa but also was scared taking it after some nausea and palps side effects (and almost dumped it). Do you ever take Nitro for the angina? This is the only relief for me so far. But then you indicate that you do not have coronary blockages yet angina??
Avatar m tn m 64, sedentary, diabetic, have been o strong steroids for over 20 yrs for serious psoriatic arthritis, and am in general constant joint and muscle pain. HR is typically 70 -80. I am on 2 X 36 mg Coreg, Lisinopril, &Atenolol. PB is usually about 130/85, so not too bad. But these danged PVCs re too unpleasant, and are becoming quite worrisome! Oh, and please... tell me about the cardiac ablation process if you could.
Avatar m tn I was on coreg when I was in the hospital and was discharged. I was on coreg for 2 months and then my Cardiologist took me off it. He tried Lisinopril while I was in the hospital however the combo of HCTZ and Coreg and the Ace inhib was causing me to feel dizzy and ill. Now it has been 8 months after my hospitalization and they are trying Lisinopril again. I am up to 5mg and my BP is 90/60 , I feel a little off balance.
