Coreg and lasix

Common Questions and Answers about Coreg and lasix

coreg

Avatar n tn I take 25 mg twice daily, along with 120 mg. lasix, and 90 mg dialtiazem 3 x day. As far as I know I'm still at 15% EF, and the doc wants to put a defib into my chest. In the next week or so, I'll be going through another echocardiogram to see if I've had any improvement, but I'm pretty sure I know what the outcome of that will be, since my strength has deminished profoundly in the last month.
Avatar n tn She did improve very much and is feeling better. However, her b/p is like 80/50 at times. She is on coreg 6.25 bid and lasix 20 mg 1 po one day and 40 mg po the next. We were thinking of decreasing the coreg to daily. Would this be the right thing to do? The dr wants us to bring her in to hospital , but we just want to keep her comfortable. Please advise.
Avatar m tn Along with lasix, Coreg 25 mgs 2xday is usually prescribed for a low EFR. Coreg is supposed to help the heart beat stronger, and sometimes it can improve the EFR. In my case it hasn't done much, but I know of several people it has worked for. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn All labs are normal and heart cath showed all pressures to be normal and no blockages. I have been placed on Aldactone, Digoxin, Coreg. Lasix and Coumadin. I take all of them daily expect for the Lasix. If heart hasn't strenghtened in 6-9 months will be looking at being placed on transplant list. Dr. wants to place me on Lisinopril also, but blood pressure drops with all the meds, to a level that I can't function.
Avatar m tn then he was hospitalized for couple of days where doctors gave him Dubotamine along with lasix, after 2 days his wait was reduced by 6 kg and the breath and ankles were ok, but now again his ankles are swollen. Kindly need you advise on what to do? Other than this heart problem, he has no other problem.
Avatar n tn He takes several meds including plavix and coreg. He also gets 160-200mg of lasix shot through a pic line in his arm each day. Once or twice a week he gets metalazone if he gains a few pounds. His heart rate has gone from being in the 70s and 80s to sometimes as low as 45 to jumping as high as 130. Is the change in the heart rate and blood pressure a sign of worsening heart disease? Does it indicate any time frame we are dealing with?
Avatar f tn s very successfully for years, but also mixed in lab tests to make sure the drug mix I was taking could be tolerated. I was taking some very powerful heart meds as well, such as Plavix, Coreg and Ranexa and Lasix. Lasix requires taking gorilla doses of Potassium, so I was monitored carefully, every 90 days. I had a Nissen Fundoplication and also Heart Bypass surgery so no longer have to take any of these medications except Lasix and Potassium. I had no Magnesium depletion.
Avatar n tn He takes 160 mg. of Lasix per day and Potassium 3 times per day. His legs and feet are swelling, he cannot lie down to sleep because he has problem breathing when he lays down. He has major swelling in both sbove and below his waist. I notice tonight that around his eyes are getting really dark, but his eyes are very red. What can I do to help?
Avatar n tn She takes 20mg of lasix and continues to have little urine output. Other meds include Coumadin, Lipitor, Coreg, Aspirin, 7.5mg Morphine and 20mg Cymbalta (for post herpetic neuralgia) - currently tapering off the morphine. She still has a 20% ejection rate, the same as when the pacer was placed. It seems that the significant breathing difficulty started after the latest hospitalization (I’m guessing that the fluid replacement contributed.
1251660 tn?1269042464 m 31 yrs old, was diagnosed with perinatal heart failure in feb of 09, with only 25% heart function. I was placed on Coreg 3.125mg 2x a day and 40mg Lasix a day, I stayed at these doses for 6 months and had my second echo at the 4 month mark, my heart returned to normal size, little to no weakness in the upper chamber of my heart and my function was at 50%.
Avatar f tn i have had a biventricular pacemaker/icd since 2004 and am taking coreg, digoxin, lisinopril, coumadin, lasix and spironlactone. i am on maximum therapy for coreg and lisinopril and my coumadin was just upped. the a-fib, v-tach is new since 9/28/07. i spent the last 4 years in relative denial of any serious issues, but now i am scared. i understand that the icd is there to save me from sudden cardiac arrest. it did just that in september. what happens now? does it get worse?
Avatar n tn t help me, Saw Palmetto which helps for those special intimate times if your a guy. I gave up on Coreg, just gave me the shoots and chronic cough. Lasix also just makes me stupid/confused but I don't have a water retention problem anyway so that one was pointless. Just on Enalapril and Metoprolol extended release. Keeping my pressure in the 120-140 over 58-72 range with a HR in the 68-85 range.
21064 tn?1309308733 On carvedilol (aka coreg) 6.25 mg 2x a day and lisinipril 10 mg a day to help protect my heart and keep my bp down from a pregnancy induced cardiomyopathy. I have some dizziness probably from both and some short term memory issues from the coreg. Wondering if anyone else has had the memory issues w/coreg, glad my dose isn't any higher.
Avatar n tn My heart, when they installed the ICD, was at 15%, and they haven't checked again since the surgery. However, I can tell you it has to have went up because of the way I feel. I will see my Cardiologist Aug. 26th, and he will most likely set me up for an Echo Cardiogram to check my HR. I, now, only take 12.5 mg of Coreg once a day, along with vitamins, and 160 mg of lasix, once a day, and it's working for me. :) I hope the very best for both of you!
Avatar f tn ve been battling CHF for almost 4 years, now, using Coreg, lasix, and several other drugs. I also have a defib/pacemaker in my chest. My EF went from 15% to between 20- 30%, yet I'm still stage 4 heart failure. I also have stage 5 kidney failure, and have dialysis 6 days a week, which is supposed to increase my EF....but nothing. I don't think the doctors really know what to do for a patient with CHF.
Avatar f tn I take 25 mg. Coreg 2 x day, 90 mgs Diltiaziem 3 x a day, and 120 mgs Lasix 1 x a day....Lasix being the most important for removing the fluid in the system. I hope this helps.
291222 tn?1210048328 My last echo showed an ef of 37. I have since been placed on Coreg, Avapro, Nitroquick, Lasix, Potassium, Imdur and Lisinapril. My angiogram was normal and as of today I have not had any heart attacks. I try to walk to improve my condition, but, I am usually too short of breath to take a shower. I had a pacemaker implanted when I was 26 because my heart rate was dropping to 21 bpm. I am very concerned that my days are numbered. What questions should I be asking my physician?
888550 tn?1241030258 I just seen my Cardilogists today and he up my Lasix to 40 mg a day He keep my Coreg 12.5mg for now and My Imdur is the same and I also use Nitrostat when needed which is every other day sometimes. I aslo have Diabetic Mircovascular Heart Disease. Well in three months he is going to recheck my pressure to see where we are @ right now . It was so hard to hear him say Congestive Heart Failure and i think he didn't want to say it either I don't know why it was hard for him to say it.
Avatar f tn In my case, they started me out on 40 mg. of lasix, 25 mg. Coreg 2x day, 90 mg. Diltiazem 2 x per day. I am now taking 140 mg. of lasix per day, the Coreg and 90 mg of the Diltiazem 3 x days, along with several other medications that have been prescribed along the way. What can happen if the medication isn't taken everyday is that the lungs can fill up with fluid and cause a mad dash to the hospital for breathing therapy or fluid removal, or both.
