copaxone

Avatar f tn In the petition, Teva insists that generic Copaxone cannot be launched without a full clinical trial. Should the petition be approved, Teva would receive a breathing space of at least two years before generic Copaxone would reach the market. But if the petition is dismissed, generic competition for Copaxone would start very soon. 667078 tn?1316000935 Mylan a big maker of generics like Teva has teamed up with Natco an Indian Pharmaceutical, who makes a generic of Copaxone. They have been fighting with Teva in U.S. Courts over patent infringement for years. PITTSBURGH, Sept. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Mylan Inc. (NASDAQ: MYL) today announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has accepted for filing Mylan Pharmaceutical Inc.
572651 tn?1530999357 They have not been as successful with orals. Copaxone is probably manufactured in India, dirt cheap. They manufacture many generics there. My generic Migrane medicine is so cheaply made it says do not break but it breaks when you open the packaging. TEVA owns hundreds of generic drug companies and only makes name brand expensive drugs for MS and cancer. TEVA is about monopoly.
Avatar f tn What is the best way to get help paying for copaxone or is there a generic version that is less expensive? I was hoping to start taking it soon, but Im afraid I can't afford it. Also, has anyone taken the new oral version? Is it less expensive? I was advised not to use it but I certainly will if I can afford it. Plus, what are the other benefits of using copaxone othr than slowing down the formation of new lesions. Will I get my energy back? Will my concentration get better?
Avatar n tn There are generic versions of Copaxone (glatiramer acetate) coming out from Momenta Pharmaceuticals and Mylan. The FDA rejected a petition from Teva in March which should clear the way for a generic to be made available. That's about the only one I know of.
Avatar n tn My insurance prescription coverage only covers generic drugs and since there is no generic drug for Copaxone it would cost me $10,000 for a 3 month supply! I obviously do not have that kind of money, not really sure who could afford that but anyway... I was working with Shared Solutions and their medication assistance only to be told that I was inelidgeable for the assistance.
2112931 tn?1335098402 Here's a related discussion from a little while back. http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Multiple-Sclerosis/Why-generic-MS-drugs-wont-be-cheap/show/1641782 A generic glatiramer acetate will likely appear far sooner than generic versions of any of the interferons. There are no generic drug modifiers at present. I don't think the Copaxone patent even expires until 2014.
1134609 tn?1269272200 ----I stabilized completely last summer and I was on the brand name version of the medication. When I switched over to the generic, I started having problems and had to increased the dose from 900mgs to 1600mgs over the space of a few months. Any changes in the dosages over this time dropped me into a deep depression and I HAD to drop the dosage many times because it was agitating me. I just assumed it was because I was adjusting to the medication.
Avatar f tn Teva says Copaxone is the most profitable MS drug in history. Another company has a generic of Copaxone and is fighting in the U.S. courts with Teva. Ironically Teva fights in court to make generics of all the other best selling drugs in the U.S. Teva's marketing is expensive as is the whole Share Solutions organization which is to get and keep as many MS patients on Copaxone and to find out about problems with the drug before the FDA does.
Avatar m tn Instead of a named brand anti convulsant for pain I used an older one that was generic. I had to do this with many drugs. With name brand drugs my doctor gave me samples.
338416 tn?1420045702 When I visited with the MS specialist, I mentioned my odd angioedema - whenever I got an injury to the face (usually either the dog bumping me in the lip, or biting my tongue) and the phlebitis in my leg. I also talked about the blood clot I had just recovered from. She went ahead and got a test for lupus anticoagulant, which was positive. Now, those people who test positive for the lupus anticoagulant don't necessarily have lupus.
1936411 tn?1333831849 So I finally received my 2014 Copaxone planner in the mail, and it's different this year and I hate it! They only included one diagram page per month (the page with the layout of the different injection sites). Last year and the year before, the planner had one diagram page per *week*. That's how I learned to plan my injections, and that's what I'm used to. How am I supposed to plan my injections now??!?!?! D@mn you, Shared Solutions! Boooooo!

352007 tn?1372857881 Im happy for you to finally have a definitive name. I don't know about you, but not being able to name what was wrong with me was far worse than learning the name. I've had my moments lately, as I'm sure we all have, but all in all I feel much better knowing. It is like knowing for sure allowed me to switch from it defining me to now its just a small part of who I am; what makes me Me.

Avatar f tn Yes it's totally legal. If you want more information there's a guy on the internet who outlines the process, whether you travel abroad or order online. He actually wrote a book and started a blog on it. He also started a buyer's club but no need to go that route. His name is Greg Jefferys, google his name for more information.
538782 tn?1213809348 I'm new to this website. Question, I'm soon to be taking my third dose of clomid. I haven't picked up my prescription yet but, i'm lost.. I don't know whether to take the generic or name brand. Ive been taken the generic(clomiphene citrate) for the past two cycles with no luck.. Dr said he would rather me be on the brand name. It is more expensive. I don't know what to do.
Avatar n tn My question concerns Synthroid. On Dec 04, 2006 at 12:00AM, Mark Lupo, M.D. said in answer to a question: "Levoxyl is another brand -- there is no advantage to Synthroid. Protecting the brand has advantages over generic regarding consistency of levels. the generic is levothyroxine". Huh? What on earth does that answer mean? "Protecting"? "consistency of levels?
