She asked me if I was was still taking Copaxone or a different MS drug with Copaxone, or instead of Copaxone. In the 8 months I've been on Copaxone, I've never been asked this question before. I know the new pill is out, but is anyone here taking the new medicine? and if so... does it work, do you like it? why did you choose to take this?

It makes more money on the U.S. market with Copaxone than all the rest of the World combined.It is the most profitable MS drug in history. Novartis its chief rival has Capaxone which is the generic version. Teva has fought in the courts to keep it off the U.S. market. It will be on the market soon. The plan was for Teva's oral MS drug to make it to the market before Gilenya but it still is not on the market.

It would be difficult to prove hallucinations were a side effect of copaxone, based on those very small numbers. There are no withdrawal symptoms from going off copaxopne.

Ironically Teva fights in court to make generics of all the other best selling drugs in the U.S. Teva's marketing is expensive as is the whole Share Solutions organization which is to get and keep as many MS patients on Copaxone and to find out about problems with the drug before the FDA does.

I told them to just cancel the order as I could not afford to take this drug for the rest of my life. Anyone taking something that is not as outrageously priced? I feel fine just the funny feeling in my right hand and fingers is annoying.

Anyway getting to the point here, it appears that Copaxone is the cheapest form of drug - it CAN give flu like symtpoms, but Teva will not list it in side effects - reason unknown, but I guess we can all take a good idea why. Anorexia is also listed.

Avatar f tn You need to clear the interferons from your system before introducing the Copaxone. It is a totally different drug than the others. There are no problems flu-like symptoms, depression or liver toxicity. It does take a good long while for your body to adjust to the copaxone and let it work. I was on it from October 2008 until Dec 2011 and did well initially.

I've spent twenty five years working in hospitals and clinics with MD's and they don't know everything.

I told her I thought that was playing with fire and she might come to regret it down the road. Will this hurt her in the long run or is half a dose sufficient? She's been on Copaxone for at least 5 years.

But it's a good med, I understand that not only does the Copaxone have less systemic side effects, it is also more successful in stopping relapses and disease progression. Threre are alot of different meds used by people on this site, so I hope you have lots of responses.
