Apparently I did to much today I have been haveing Braxton hicks for about an hour now and when my baby moves it hurts:( I'm almost 28 weeks so I know I'm not in labor but I guess I need to take it easy

Hi, when can Braxton Hicks start, im currently 17 weeks and feel that i have a tightening sensation could it be Braxton Hicks?

I was having Braxton hicks in my second trimester. It was from dehydration though. I drank plenty of water & they stopped.

Doing NSTs weekly now and see my OB weekly also. Boys are both transverse and have been having Braxton Hicks on and off for the last 6-8 weeks but nothing consistent. How are you doing Ana?

@ctmom37 - Braxton hicks dont just happen because of dehydration. Although they can happen if you are dehydrated, its not the only cause. most women will suffer Braxton hicks during pregnancy, and while some mums to be notice them, others do not. Braxton hicks are 'false contractions' which help your body to prepare for giving birth. Braxton hicks should subside if you change position, move about, take paracetamol, have a hot bath or curl up with a hot water bottle.

Braxton Hicks don't hurt.. it isn't Braxton hicks... I've been having Braxton hicks since 30 weeks & they haven't felt like this.

Until what month we have Braxton Hicks? How can I understand if it is Braxton Hicks and not a real contraction and the uterin that is preparing for real birth? I m 29w +1d. Thank you.

I am 32 + 4 and was just curious on what braxton hicks feel like and real contractions...? I don't believe I have experienced BH yet, but then again I don't know what or how I should be feeling when they happen.

Time them, Braxton hicks contractions will not be consistent and will not get closer together and stronger as real contractions will. Braxton hicks are normal around 19-20 weeks, just your body practicing!

They are Braxton Hicks I called on Tuesday for the same reason and they told me it's Braxton Hicks and to stay hydrated because Braxton Hicks can be caused by dehydration which is not true because I had drank 5 bottles of water that day and it was only noon. If they do happen 4x in 1 hr or are 3-5 mins apart then they are contractions and it's time. Exactly what I was told when I called. Jus keep an eye on them.

Braxton Hicks for sure when you start getting the "real" ones you will know because they hurt and just get worse im over due now at 40 weeks and 4 days and i have gotten braxton hicks since 18 weeks and real contractions since 35 on and off but the real ones suck

The lump you felt was your baby. The hardening was probably a braxton hicks contraction. The braxton hicks is what your uterus is doing I.e. Hardening and then releasing, kind of like a muscle contraction when you flex. The hard lump you gelt move or rather saw move positions is probably your baby and has nothing to do with tge braxton hicks contractions you felt after sex.

How do you know the difference between Braxton hicks and real contractions?

to some people this might seem like a stupid question but i have just started to get braxton hicks and every now and then they are reali painfull and stop me in my tracks beening this is my first child how will i no between hicks and early labour signs?

My mom also said braxton hicks but I thought pain was also a part of having braxton hicks. I haven't had any pain.
