Avatar m tn Not to be contrarian, but women do like sex if you've met the right woman. And some meds do affect the ability to get an erection. But the effects differ by the person, so you can't predict how any given person will react. But if you're on the meds now, how do you feel about sex? Do you desire it? That's libido. Performance is something else, and the most common sexual problem is the inability to reach orgasm or it takes a long time to do so.
1273125 tn?1365077526 I love being the contrarian..... I've been on a statin, Simvastatin to be precise for more than five years? This follows a protracted period of trying to reduce my cholesterol "naturally". So I dropped the fats and meats and went on a low fat diet which consisted of ...... Carbohydrates! My cholesterol went down a little to about 215, and my blood glucose began to rise dramatically. Then I tried a statin, a low dose 20mg. daily of Simvastatin.
Avatar n tn Also, anisocoria is tougher to pin down sometimes than you might think. I would be sure you had an experienced neuro-ophthalmologist diagnose which pupil is abnormal before you assume which one is. If well trained they can pick up subtle differences that a neurologist wouldn't notice. So being contrarian - perhaps the abnormal pupil didn't change - just fooled untrained examiners possibly?
Avatar f tn I'll be the contrarian here and say that Lyme doesn't *always* come with co-infections -- but it does perhaps half the time. You might be Herxing from the treatment. Ree is right, I agree with her comments. Take care!
543518 tn?1245322027 s enough to make your head spin Linda Blair style. Not only is it technical but then there are the contrarian viewpoints, and how does a layman know the voracity of the claims pro or con. Now we have to worry, will the cure cause more oxidative stress than what it rid us of, and if so why. Personally I'm torn between whether the rancidity factor is the big culprit with alpha-lip. or whether drug companies are just paying for studies to refute any natural cure!
Avatar f tn I guess I'll be the usual contrarian here. I have a suspicion that the new doctor didn't look at what this person is already taking, and is running the risk, being on three medications all targeting serotonin, of developing serotonin syndrome. While there is a lot of evidence behind augmentation of meds, it's only done where the first one has helped some, and it's not done with the same kinds of meds. More than one ssri at a time sounds dangerous to me.
941118 tn?1312281926 Hi - perhaps it may be helpful to take a contrarian point of view here. Trust me, I am not defending anyone or taking sides, but imagine the issue from a doctor's point of view. If you had a female patient with a lump in the breast (my sister is fighting breast cancer), performed a biopsy, and determined it was benign, yet the patient was still experiencing anxiety about it, what would you do? How do you appease fears that can't be curtailed unless you offer daily reassurances??
1761834 tn?1315837826 just to be a contrarian; i wonder if a naturopathic doc might help find a way to prevent strep. i know some docs are not in favor of removing tonsils. i know that preschool is a breeding ground but maybe the teacher there can be an advocate for u and use it as a teaching moment to help children learn about washing hands and what goes in mouths. just a thought from a non parent who is sympathetic to your plight. getting help is a great idea too.
649848 tn?1534633700 I mentioned that comment because when you see comments that are just nuts you might be dealing with a particular doc who is in the Dr. Oz or Mercola camp, which means there's gold in them thar hills of posting contrarian views on a website even if in your own medical practice you don't subscribe to what you're telling folks about. I don't know that to be true, I just found it to be true.
Avatar f tn Conventional medicine has no medical cure for fibromyalgia (FMS). Of course they have no cure for a Syndrome of symptoms as it's NOT a specific disease! and the causes are NOT known, only suspect! My Views on this are that there's potential for full remission- if not complete cure.
1530342 tn?1405016490 Another example of the ready acceptance of contrarian thinking by the Democrats. They were hysterical about Iraq because it was a regime change and Iraq didn't hit us on 9/11. Well what are we doing in Libya and Egypt if not intervening for purposes of regime change and I promise you those two countries didn't hit us on 9/11.
Avatar n tn I'm going to be a contrarian. I am 61 years old and have had diabetes for more than 50 years (1961), having gotten it when I was 10. I have always watched my blood sugars closely to keep them acceptably low and have suffered many, many eipisodes of low blood sugars. It is so much easier now with the new meters. My A1c is almost always in the low 6's and I have no complications but do have controlled hypertension. Exercise (and partying) have always been important to me.
Avatar m tn If you want to try to figure out how to make it work, good luck with it, but so far using the test as a contrarian indicator would have been more accurate. : ) If I was terse my concern was that a doctor was using a weak test to "sell" you a treatment today, when in all likelihood you had a large safety zone in waiting; even if it was 6 months to treat w/ sofosbuvir and SOC. I believe this would offer a relatively short wait, a higher cure rate, a shorter and safer treatment.
