Avatar f tn I am supposed to be induced on Tuesday morning and I had initially planned to not have any pain meds but everyone keeps telling me the contractions from being induced hurt much worse then if you go into labor on your own. So my question is have any of you been induced without getting the epidural?
1182418 tn?1292437001 Has anyone ever given birth without any pain meds? I want to try this time without the drugs, no epidural, spinal etc. Now this is my 3rd. My DD was born vaginally and i had an epidural, then my 2nd i ended up with a csection because i failed to dilate so they pumped me with drugs and when my son was born i could tell the meds had affected him. Now this time i would like to go all natural! Can anyone share their story please? Good or bad i would like to read them!
Avatar f tn I tried going natural with my second baby. My water had broke & I went in to the hospital only 3-4cm. So they put me on petocin to strengthen contractions & speed up dilaton. Those weren't the normal contractions. I learned very fast that I needed that epidural, I held out until my body was quivering in pain. They were too strong coming too fast. If I have to have petocin this time I'm getting an epidural, if not, I'll go for it!
Avatar f tn ve heard it causes problems after, like back pain and stuff like that. Can you ladies that experienced birth without an epidural tell me what your experience was like?
Avatar f tn I refused and they ended up giving me pitocin due to failure to progress. Which made the contractions so much worst but I had my daughter without any pain meds. The second time around I was induced because I was a week overdue. They gave me pitocin and broke my water in the morning by 5 he was born. No pain meds. This experience was much better because I had all the support I could get from my husband and family. I literally helped pull out my son once he was born.
Avatar f tn Are any first time moms planning to deliver without an epidural or pain medication? Do any moms who have done this have any advice or suggestions?
Avatar f tn It made the contractions unbearable for yself and I have a very high pain tolerance. So I ending up getting the epidural.

Avatar f tn I was at a 2 without feeling any contractions with my first pregnancy. I only had contractions when I went into labor and they were regular 5 min apart starting out. So it's possible.
Avatar f tn I was induced with my last one and I had him all natural I had my first all natural as well. I would just bare with the pain move around get warm and concentrate on something.
Avatar n tn I'm 57years old, haven't had a period in 4-5 years, was exercising and started having contractions. I haven't exercised since then. And haven't had any contractions. I'm afraid to exercise. And I had a tubal ligation done. Could I possibly be pregnant, or is it something else. Should I talk to my doctor.
Avatar f tn t even know I was in lobor until out of curiosity went 2 d hospital and on examination I was already dilated 4cm. Had baby without pain. Hope this helps.
3197047 tn?1345768894 What do contractions feel like when they are just starting? How long do they usually last when they first start? Are they extremely painful when they first start?
Avatar f tn Well the pain stopped now it still gets hard but without the pain. So i guess ill wait if i get it again if not then ill wait till my drs appt on thursday.
Avatar f tn I did all the time with my last two and this one just seems to always just be a very hard stomach and lots of back pain with other signs of labor too. But no very strong painful contractions at all. I was wondering could it still mean im in labor even if I don't feel any contractions?
949288 tn?1263738633 s twice a week and Dr checks me both times and no changes in 2 weeks. Last night we had an INCREDIBLY stressful night. I had some very strong contractions and lower back pain but didn't think a whole lot of it cause I could sleep and like I said, I contract all the time. This morning though, I woke up and the second time I went to the bathroom there were small amounts of bright red blood on the TP. Could this be bloody show??
Avatar f tn If ur not in any real pain then ur probably having false labor contractions, or just ur plain ol' BH contractions. Real active labor contractions will stop u dead in ur tracks from whatever it is ur doing and take ur breath away until the contraction goes away and comes back. Just try and take it easy and pay attention to ur signs n symptoms. Either way ur close and almost there! As am I, just playing the waiting game..

Avatar f tn Then they get stronger gradually to the point where it is hard to breathe through it (if you go that far without pain relief) My second baby came the same day as I lost my mucous plug, but I didnt notice losing it with my first... good luck!!!
2194701 tn?1432394206 So I posted a question a few days ago about contractions but I was just reading on my week on this app and it said early labor contractions could just feel like back pain. Have any ladies had this were early labor was back pain and no cramping or maybe back pain and mild cramping? I lost my mucus plug Friday night. I've had extremely mild contractions Friday night and yesterday. Today my back hurts worse than it has my entire pregnancy!
7417215 tn?1403487102 How does contractions feel I've been experiencing some come and go pain in my pelivic area for about 2 hours now its not like a period pain or anything its like belly pain
Avatar f tn ve had extremely bad lower back pain and contractions, the contractions come and go and the lower back pain Is there no matter what position I get into it only gets worse. Should I go to the ER or wait it off a little longer???
Avatar n tn The nurse at the doctors office said I should be feeling at least 5 movements an hour BUT none of my kids this far along moved that much (I just hit 36 wks). The stabbing pain around your stomach could be round ligament pain, everything is relaxing and stretch and preparing to deliver. If the pain is more in your upper abdomen and your blood pressure is starting to rise I would have your OB check for protein in your urine, could be a sign of toxemia/pre-eclampsia. Be careful!
