My cervex is dilated to 1 1/2 and have been having really strong contractions. He put me on nifedical to stop the contractions and my question is...Will I continue to dilate even though i'm on the medicine or do contractions and dilating go hand in hand?

Had a sweep Thursday, I was 2 cm at 38 weeks. Lost my mucous plug yesterday morning. Cramping at night but no real contractions. I have 7 days to go but I really don't want to go another week or more... Feels like I could go more. Hoping to go into labor tonight! I successfully used castor oil with my first pregnancy at 37 weeks.

Looks like i'm being induced tonight, contractions have all but stopped. I will keep everyone updated. Good luck on the 7th that's not too far away!

I have 11 weeks and 2 days left until my due date. The closer it gets to it, the more nervous i become about labor/delivery. I dont know what to expect being this is my first child. Im not even sure i will know what contractions feel like if i go into labor. Im also terrified of not dilating and having to have c-section. Or even worse, getting a c-section and feeling them cut me. Is anyone else nervous?

I've been having uterrine contractions & cramps for awhile now along with alot of pressure down there & I feel very nauseous like I need to throw up but can't. I have a feeling it's gonna be a long nighttt!

4 days left. 4 days! This morning at 4 am till 6 am I was having the worst contractions ever. I was crying, cramping, couldn't walk, sit, lie down, urges to push, foumd myself on the toilet to pee a lot, so much pressure in my pelvis, but the contractions STILL are not close enough to warrent me going to l&d. I finally got some sleep, but the moment I woke up for the day, its the same thing, ony more spred out and with peeing and diahrrea between. I'm so ready its not even funny.

Is there a certain week that pregnant women shouldn't be driving anymore?!?

I am 38+4 and yesterday I went to the doctor and im dilated to a 5 fully thinned and faced, what ever that means. This is my second pregnancy so I guess I haven't been so careful as with my first. I am still working, I bend, squad, and pick up my 3 year old. The doctor even offered me to go to the hospital today to deliver the baby and I said no, he'll be out when he's ready.

Im 37 weeks today and i have been getting contractions on and off since the day before yestarday, im just 1cm i got send back home. What can i do to dilated more ? Any opinions ?

I don't have any contractions yet, other ladies have told me that my baby hasn't drop, I walk but not everyday So I guess I shoukd start walking more odten, anyone has any symptoms yet?

I'm due the 27th and already thinned plus having contractions (don't know about dilated though). I wouldn't rush it you only have 10 days until your due date.

I cant lose time from work, dont want to lose energy, but it will happen. are there any suggestions for tapering. I have done this before and wish I hadnt gone back but getting busted up by a horse and put in the hospital, the first thing they do is stick an oxy in your mouth. Then Its back to the game. this is a serious demon, one to stay awaqy from and now i have to fight this demon off again. I will try to go lower mg everytime i see dr.

m super impatient with this..lol. but I keep having like braxton Hicks contractions and they are starting to get stronger &stronger each time they come.. I havent lost my mucus plug or my water hasn't broken but I'm like super afriad that these contractions are more than just the braxton hicks ones. plus I'm super nervous if I end up going past my due date which is nerve racking for me. I guess I'm just really anxious and tired of waiting.

But I did find out that I am pretty thin, an her head is pretty far down. I have a appointment today hoping they maybe do a ultrasound to check things out. But I have heard sex, walking and spicy foods.

Came to labor and delivery to get checked out hoping to see progress since my appointment on monday but there has been none. I am having contractions but they are still too far apart and I'm still 4cm and still 50% effaced. :( its gonna be a long weekend til my 4:30 appointment on Monday.

So im 36w5d & i've dilated 1cm .. i've been having a lot of cramp-like contractions & ny baby is in position already im super excited & i want her here already, does anyone have any ideas on how i can bring on labor or a way i could dilated more ?

ve been in the hospital 4 times already because of contractions, cramping, and baby not moving much. Is there a possibility that I could be induced at my 38 week check up? I don't really want to be induced but I've had way to many complications already.

I hope they are I feel like a whimp because they already really hurt lol plus my little girl is back to back.

Because its annoying when people on here are trying to get advice and stuff and there is always those certain people that have to put there 2 cents in all the time. I'm not mad haha. You seem like you're the one that is all upset. The girl that posted clearly has already taken it and she doesn't need to hear people horror stories or feel like she is harming her baby. If you don't agree, simply don't take it.

I don't have to use the bathroom it slowed down after an hour but now I contract hard when I have to fart this is something new started today

Contractions suck, i have 3 babys and one on the way and i have used the epidural all three times and plan on using it again. I dont have very high pain tolerance but my sister did it alll natural she was a champ! But dont be scared, it may be the worst pain youll ever feel in your life but its the easiest and quickest pain to forget! Good luck!

So I went about my day and around 8/9 PM they started up again for a bit. For about 2 or 3 hours . It is almost 3 am and I have back pain and no contractions again. I feel him moving around a bit so I know he is OK . I don't think it is Braxton Hicks either. Any ideas what may be going on or what to do? My youngest is almost 8 so it has been awhile since I have had a baby and have no idea what to expect!
