contractions use

So, I used to be able to time my contractions.. But now I've gotten so use to them and use to the mild menstrual like cramps that I almost don't even notice I'm having them so I never really get to time them anymore. So, I guess my question is, will I know when I'm having the real labor contractions ? Will they hurt enough to where I will just know it's time? Btw, I'm almost 39 weeks 3cm dilated and MD says baby girl is locked and loaded.

Wait at home as long as possible too, it is more comfortable. Use the time between contractions to relax as much as possible, it doesnt get too horrible until transition, and then yiu want to give up, but it goes quick, and as soon as its time to push you all of a sudden get this strength to just finish it. For me the contractions have always been the worst part, learn all you can about what happens during labor, it will help you to not be afraid of whats happening.

Yeah the back pain starts out dull that's means you're almost there. I use another app called Pregnancy Companion, that's what I use to time my contractions. It's great & it saves the history of the contractions.

Ftm. 39 weeks today. Gave in and started taking evening primrose oil yesterday. 2000mg orally in the AM, 1000mg orally with dinner & inserted 1000mg vaginally before bed. I had 2 contractions within a couple of hours, nothing that progressed though. Has anyone else gotten contractions after taking EPO vaginally? I know its just supposed to ripen the cervix, but found the timing odd.

As some Dr's may still recommend caster oil I strongly encourage you to read up on it first. I've heard so many bad stories with it and the fact it can cause meconium in the Baby's lungs isn't worth the risk to me just to jump start labour.

Okay so I believe I'm feeling contractions but I'm currently 34 weeks and I'm not in pain. Are these braxton hicks? My stomach tightens and gets really hard and contorted for a bit. I haven't timed anything because it's pretty sporadic throughout the last 3 days. It doesn't hurt, it just kind of startles me and sometimes I feel a dull ache.

I'm having small contractions but they feel horrible its hard to take! Anything that will help? Please!

It sounds like labor but early labor

39 weeks woke up today with really bad crampig I got up thought I maybe had to use the rr but no it will last about a min but soon after ill feel the pain again and stronger I felt like that all morning. They stopped for an about 2-hours then again but not as strong . Could it have been contractions or something else normal ? First time mom.. im 1cm dialted last checked tues. Help ?

So she started me on Prometrium that I insert vaginally every night. Has anyone else had to use this and what are the effects? Did it stop your shortening of the cervix? It doesnt effect the baby at all, right??

If they 5 to 10 minutes apart and the pain os increasing you should go in. Use a timer or stop watch to keep track.

If they r not very painful (if u can still hold a normal conversation while having them) they r probably just false labour. They might stop but do wait until they r 3 to 5 min apart they might intensify. Also time them from the start of a contraction to the beginning of the next. Not from the ending to the start. That's a accurate count.

So i just read contractions are like period cramps +10. When i have a period i get really bad back cramps and not so Much abdominal cramps so i guess my question is will i have more back labor contractions then abdominal?? Or does it matter how your period cramps were?

I dont want to wake my hubby up and run to the hospital if I just have to use the bathroom, but im beginning to think its contractions. Anyone feel this way??

I don't have to use the bathroom it slowed down after an hour but now I contract hard when I have to fart this is something new started today

s been the best position for you to help deal with the pressure/pain when getting contractions. I cannot lay down while getting one! It so so much more painful which makes sleeping.next to impossible. I'm still getting contractions every 5 mins apart. Rocking back/ fourth and side to side seems to help. Just wondering what you ladies did to try and get some sleep with these!?

Okay during my deleivery, I could not stretch enough for my son to get his head out, so they had to cut me. and I couldnt push as much as i needed to, so they had to use the vacuum. I was wonderin how long does it take for the bump on his head to go away? If youve esperienced this, id appreciate ur input..

I asked my doctor why I feel diarrhea pain and no need to use the restroom. She said that I was having contractions. I did some reasearch and yes contractions feel like cramps or diarrhea/upset stomach pain. Its just different with everyone. Im 38 +1 and ill get irregular diarrhea pain so im thinking its just braxton hicks contractions for right now.

D, everything is ok. The contractions arent close enough to raise alarm and was told to take tylenol and use a heat pad or ice for back pain. Ive not even started dilating -thankfully. Still in massive pain though and heartburn is hitting me with a vengeance.

That's what it sounds like. I had them off and on randomly for a few days, then nothing. After 2 days i had those terrible menstrual like cramps and heavy colored discharge; i called in to ask about them, the nurse told me i was in preterm labor. Turns out it was round ligaments and a bruised appendix (he's a kicker), and the back pain from earlier was just Hicks contractions.

re running into the opiate addict wall and I call it. Many physicians use our old opiate use as a cop out when it comes to diagnosing real problems. I've found this more true in the GI field because opiate can and do cause havoc with the intestinal tract. I do know that even to this day I have GI problems, and I suppose some of it could be caused by my long term opiate use. For years opiates slowed my whole GI tract to the point where constipation was always an issue.

How far apart should ur contractions be? I have been having contractions every time I use bathroom and sometimes when I stand or walk around to much but my OB said that's normal. Well I am already 2 cm as of Monday but ten min ago when I used the bathroom I cramped for a min and then my back started to hurt bab for like 3-4 min. Is this a contraction?

s just pressure of the baby causing the urge to go to the bathroom but to keep an eye out if contractions become regular and closer together. So far just sporadic contractions.
