4046749 tn?1357103996 I'm 20+4 and went into preterm labor last night. They sent me home and put me on bed rest. But the contractions started really strong again this morning and haven't stopped. Anyone else experienced this? And what did you do to stop contractions and get some comfort? I'm miserable and plan on going back to l&d if they continue much longer. But is there anything I can do for now?

Avatar f tn Anyone know any relief for contraction pain ughh :(?? I'm 2cm & 80% effaced, hospital sent me home cause I wasn't 4cm yet.
Avatar f tn Best way to del with them is to not fight them, allow the pain and pressure to hit you like a wave and then wash away.
Avatar f tn Some offer fentynyl (spelling?) which just takes the edge off. That's what I used with my second.
Avatar f tn I'm in my 38th week almost 39th and I am having painful contractions, I want to wait to go to the hospital but these are very intense. Does anybody have any tips on making it more bearable? I'm currently laying on the floor on pillows with my back facing a heater which seems to help a little.
Avatar f tn I tried IV meds first and they gave me no pain relief at all. The epidural was by far the best pain relief.

5615074 tn?1378316840 I had the easiest labor ever with my daughter. I didn't feel them until they were a minute apart, and only got half the dose of IV pain meds closer to pushing. I have been having contractions that actually hurt now but they aren't anywhere near close together probably 15-20 minutes apart. Is there anything I can do to get some relief? I can't take a bath because my daughter will want in lol.
6709254 tn?1389303349 I cant deal right now. My contractions hurt like hell. every night its the same thing. I'm due Friday and im only a fingertip dilated. Avatar f tn Advil is an ibuprofen based pill which you should be avoiding while pregnant. Any relief yet?
Avatar f tn To start with they should last about a minute and be spaced evenly apart. When pains do get to 5 minutes apart or before if you need pain relief then just ring your doctor and go in.
Avatar n tn Prostaglandins is a hormone that can induce labour. A man's semen contains this hormone. Oxytocin also causes contractions and a woman's body produces it when she climaxes. If there are no health reasons for you guys to be abstaining right now then some quality time together might get things moving along. It only does the trick if you are getting close to starting labour naturally though because the amounts are small.
Avatar f tn They are called lighting pain! This is due to the baby's head being in your pelvic bone area! I was told that if it's true contractions (cus I'm a ftm) no matter what you did you would not get any relief! I have my son do these lighting pains to me all the time....takes my breath away and some times makes me jump straight up in the air!
Avatar f tn Can contractions feel like period cramps? I lost my plug over the last few days and have s lot of pressure in my pubic bones. Today I have period like cramping, is that a contraction? First time mom, 37 weeks.
8466308 tn?1407955973 In UK gas and air is used as a form of pain relief.. but on here the other day I saw someone from the USA ask what that was.. do you guys get offered it in the country your in? Avatar f tn I cant get relief. When one hits I cant breathe and my body shakes. Im only having like 10 a day but its the worst in my back. Oh man my back Is the WORST. And for some reason I have really bad cramps at the top of my belly where its rounded rather than down in the pelvic area. Did any of you have labor start this way? I keep being told I will feel it in my pelvis, not really in my back so I dont know but when they monitored me at the hospital they said it WAS contractions.
8793709 tn?1409594060 Oo I loved my epidural. My contractions were killing me and I was dying back contractions omg. The epidural didn't hurt at all. My contractions were hitting 90 on that meter and I didn't feel them at all. You won't regret it if you got it.

Avatar f tn Can you have contractions that are only really painful in your back?
