How do I know when I'm having contractions if my stomach stays hard a lot anyways?

When you have contractions or are in labor is all the pain down low? Or can it be higher up?

Hi everyone I'm 38 weeks 5 days. I've been experiencing contractions between 6-8 minutes. Feel them in my back and my stomach. I don't believe I passed my mucus plug unless I missed it and no bloody show either. This is my second baby. The contractions are feeling a bit strong like bad cramps then what I usually get from BH contractions. I am trying to wait as long as I can I want to avoid false alarms. I had 2 with my first son and 3rd time was the charm.

Last nightI started getting mild contractions. They were not all painful. Some were just my stomach tighting while others were painful. I was timing them at one point because they were back to back it seemed. They were nine minutes apart. Should I be worried because they seemed to stop somewhat?

Hi, I'm due on 26th. Been having heaps of contractions already... but no progress... so I guess just have to be patient for now. See my Obe tomorrow. She did say she wants me to have baby sometime in week 38 (starts tomorrow), as I am diabetic. but am hoping that baby can bee allowed to come in her own good time.

I have been having contractions all night not consecutive and all morning, baby girl is moving around a lot more than normal, i feel nauseous, and tired i need adice on how to make her come out i deceided to walk up and down the stairs on my lunch break to see what will happen Sex is not a option being that i am single...i feel like she is trying to come out cause I feel alot of pressure down there as well HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!

How far apart are the pains ? And how far along are you?

I think I'm hqving contractions or braxton hicks my stomach top mainly is killing me hurts worst when i breathe in and out and it isn't going away even hurts to move and still hurts if I'm walking around!! Help?!!

Okay this may have an obvious answer but what do contractions feel like? Last night I was in labor& delivery for four hours hooked up to the monitors and was having contractions but all I was feeling was a dull back pain I wasn't feeling any of the contractions so I'm not sure how I am supposed to know when I am having them or not my stomach its pretty tight already.

Can't explain the feeling. You'll definitely know when they're contractions tho.

Okay so my contractions are really starting to make it hard for me to breathe and I don't know what to do about it.

I went to the hospital some days ago, and i was told by a midwife that i was having contractions But i wasn't feeling any. I'm wondering if this ever happened to any Girl, n what does it mean? I can dilate anytime now? Am i too early? I'm 33 weeks.

Stripped membranes yesterday and still nothing so I pumped and now my nipples feel like I got a titty twister from hell but started having contractions. Has this worked for anyone before?

Wow here in L&D with contractions every 10 minutes they gave me shot to try and stop them but haven't even checked my cervix.

If you had the bloody show, you're supposed to go to the er. Its a sign of labor starting. I'm a first time mom, and I'm overdue right now. But my doctor told me that. I've lost my mucous plug about a week ago, maybe a week and a half. And I've had lower back pains, and a hard stomach with no pains. I had an appointment today and the nurses told me that first time moms won't notice their contractions until their farther into labour.

I asked my doctor why I feel diarrhea pain and no need to use the restroom. She said that I was having contractions. I did some reasearch and yes contractions feel like cramps or diarrhea/upset stomach pain. Its just different with everyone. Im 38 +1 and ill get irregular diarrhea pain so im thinking its just braxton hicks contractions for right now.

s like menstrual cramps times 100, as soon as I got my epi the contractions slowed and now I just feel a little pressure with a tiny bit of pain in my crotch and butt lol the epidural is so worth it!

This isn't my first but has anyone ever had contractions that was so bad they could feel it going all down their legs. I mean its so hard to even move.... is this labor contractions?

My doc said if they are five minutes apart and last an hour go to the hospital

Its hard to explain but it is in your lower stomach when you get true contractions you will know its a pain like no other.
