Avatar f tn But the due date she gave me was the first day of my last period. But in the baby book it says thats a 40 weeks period and if you want to count back 3 months and 7 days forward and thats the day you are due from "fertilization" not lmp. That date is called EDC estimated date of confiment. Is this really true? Is that way some womens baby come before 40 weeks? Its so intresting to know all this stuff! Lol idk. Every since i got pregnant i just been really into how all this works.
Avatar f tn My contractions were getting more painful 10-20 minutes later so my husband called in. I went in and they checked my cervix I was at 3cm. They told me to walk around for two hours and see if I would progress. I couldn't make it those two hours and the pain was becoming unbarrable. So I went back to L&D. They checked my cervix again and I was still the same so they sent me home. I was so upset and in so much pain that I couldn't stand it anymore.
2194701 tn?1432394206 So I posted a question a few days ago about contractions but I was just reading on my week on this app and it said early labor contractions could just feel like back pain. Have any ladies had this were early labor was back pain and no cramping or maybe back pain and mild cramping? I lost my mucus plug Friday night. I've had extremely mild contractions Friday night and yesterday. Today my back hurts worse than it has my entire pregnancy!
Avatar f tn It's so crazy that I'm in such a good mood.. i am having contractions but they aren't hurting. Just pressure.. but I had horrible pain yesterday all day. So this has been nothing compared to yesterday.

Avatar f tn I absolutely love to read, but haven't been doing much lately because I need new reading glasses. My vision has gone to sh!t! I love Janet Evonovich, James Pattesrson, most Stephen King, Dan Brown, and a ton of others that I can't think of right now. I also enjoy reading non fiction, especially historical stuff. I'm about 3 books behind in the Stephanie Plum series and desperately need to get caught up. I love those books!
Avatar f tn I hate What to Expect. I much prefer Your Pregnancy Week-By-Week (found at Walmart or Target for under $12). I also love The EVERYTHING Pregnancy Book. For some fun reading: The Girlfriends' Guide to Pregnancy (outdated but makes it all the more hilarious when they talk about maternity fashion in the 90's). There's so much more out there. I'd also recommend a really good breastfeeding book if you plan to nurse.

Avatar n tn I am a very healthy and active 40 year odl female. I have some heart disease in my family and smoked for 15 years. I have been smoke free for over 10 now. I have been have extreme chest pains on the left side that goes up into my neck and jaw, down my left arm for the past 4 months. They start of dull and then intensify to crushing. I wore a heart moniter for 3 days and they found I had Sinus Tachycarrdia. They have also completed two other test and my findings are below.
669910 tn?1226189846 Hi, There is an age related increase in PSA. You should also know that there is no real PSA value where the risk of cancer is zero. The risk is a continuum, with a higher risk associated with a higher value. Most practices would recommend performing the biopsy for a value of 4 or higher. Since there are some symptoms with passing urine, then you should seriously consider taking the biopsy. Stay positive.
Avatar f tn For starters, I've never (that I remember) have had difficulty reading. I'm actually a really good reader, but recently I have struggled. Words get swapped around or completely vanish from the sentence all together. (I've read 'manes' as 'names' for example, and some word changes have been more severe than that.
Avatar m tn The faster the heart beats the less is the reliability of the estimates to be accurate. This because the movement of the walls are less delineated and it is difficult for manual held transducer to exactly outline the maximum dimensions at end of systole (filling capacity) and end of systole's contraction. The faster the heartbeat the fuzzier the borders (explained to me by the doctor at time of my first echo). Your Aug. report indicates a HR of 92 bpm...April 85 bpm.
Avatar f tn I'm 38+4 and been having them for about 24 Hours now.. How long does this usually last? I'm now feeling depressed over it as I can't get any help and my partner doesn't care how much pain that I am in he just wants his meals when his hungry and won't lift a finger to help me -.- the hospital is refusing to take me still until 3-5 minutes apart!
Avatar f tn Also, most computer work involves reading as well as writing. As for books that young ladies would like - does anyone have any suggestions? Perhaps her teacher might be able to give you some ideas here.
Avatar f tn Am reading stuff on they web nd some websites say that if i get contractions constantly to do to the hospital. Am i in labour?
Avatar f tn I was reading and they say your body will start practicing painless contractions but this is my first pregnancy and have no clue what that feels like.
Avatar f tn For me what helps is reading. I love reading and when I read I can go into my own world. By reading through the earlier part of labour I was able to stay calm and manage the contractions. As the contractions get more painful you could talk between them to your partner to calm you back down. Breathing in gas and air can help give you something to focus on as well as pain relief during the contractions. This might all sound simple and also ridiculous but it can help.
Avatar f tn Do you have to have contractions in order to dialate? I keep reading storys of women saying " oh im dialated to 2 and didnt even know it" hows that even possible?
Avatar f tn I was reading about chamomile earlier today & said causes uterine contractions....anyone ever heard of this!?
Avatar m tn u should have called to the doctor in ER. there is always a doctor in ER. EVEN IF EVERYTHING IS FINE which I think so atleast you cud have your sound state of mind. if you are reading this mail whatever time it is please pull the phone and call the doctor in ER AND TELL them what has gone wrong with you and how you are felling and then do whatever they say. plz dont take chances. are these just cramps or the contractions which are coming again.
529440 tn?1232113705 So Im almost 38 wks and i have been feeling a lot of pressure and contractions that i cant walk through or talk through for the past week and i went to get checked yesterday and i havent even started to dialate yet. Could these contractions be b/h?
Avatar n tn Sounds like your body is having practice contractions. I've been having mild contractions for five days and am 39+2 but it never builds into labor. When is your next appt? You can always mention it to your OB or MW when you get checked.
Avatar f tn We started pushing, I puked, rested for an hour trying to breath thru contractions, started pushing again, head wouldnt descend past pelvis, they used the vaccume, which we tried for awhile, they didnt work so went for a c section, which I pukwd during that. All in all, it hurt so bad BUT wouldnt change it for the world!!!!
Avatar f tn So getting more frequent contractions since yesterday at 2pm. I was diagnosed with preterm labor at 32 weeks I got the shots to stop contractions I got two doses and also the steroids to help with his lung development. Im currently 35w3d and I kind of want to speed the process and start walking and drinking tea, I know im not full term yet but ive been having irregular contractions ever since I hit 32 weeks. I barely get any sleep and I dont know what to do.
Avatar f tn m nervous to go into labor with no one else around, but I figured if I do then I call the doctor and have them count my contractions and tell if/when to come in. But at my last appointment the doctor told me "if you have to call to see when to come in, then stay at home. We don't take reservations" what the heck!? So I'm even more stressed to be alone! How can I know for sure, what contractions are and how to time them properly!?
Avatar n tn Painless contractions are called Braxton hicks. Real labor contractions are regular and increase in discomfort/pain. Braxton hicks will go away when you lay down.
Avatar f tn It did bring on labor, it does give contractions, and in some cases those contractions are too strong and too close together, which can cause a lot of problems; in my case it was an abruption.
