4842016 tn?1372039067 I've had contractions (went into labour prematurely @ 26 weeks) but I'm a ftm so I haven't been in full blown labour but my contractions felt like pressure, like bub was pushing out but all over my stomach, and I was having bad period like cramps. But it may be different for everyone!

689528 tn?1364135841 There are a couple times through the book though that mention having a glass of wine during the first stage of labour in order to relax and sleep through contractions. I think it's put in our heads about alcohol and the effects on a pregnancy are sooo terrible. But would it really be that terrible to actually have a glass of wine in order to get a couple hours of shut eye?! Just wondering your thoughts ladies..... Note: a GLASS of wine....they don't talk about a whole bottle...
10504858 tn?1423544346 Hey ladies, for those of you who have given birth before, I'm wondering what early contractions can feel like. I'm currently 36+2 and for the past few days I've been getting this cramping feeling kind of like a menstrual cramp or gas pains. The cramps come and go but they aren't very close together. At first it would be like once or twice a day, but the past two days it seems they are gradually happening more often, like maybe once every hour or two.
1244100 tn?1385905528 Some women say that they’ve had zero problems having plenty of pineapple and pineapple juice during pregnancy and others claim it brought on labour. The verdict on pineapple during pregnancy? Some would say that you should eat it in moderation and watch for any signs of problems before your due date. If you’re at or past your due date, it might help you. By: http://pregnancyglee.com/?
7765842 tn?1406963224 Just had my baby 4 days ago. I had contractions 12am on Wednesday, my water broke at 12 30am and my son was born at 8 20am the same day! :) Pethidine is flippin amazing! That and gas and air!
Avatar f tn i dont know the exact percentage but most women need their waters broken at some point during the labour by the dr or midwife. its normally done to help speed up labour if a woman isnt progressing fast in the hopes that it will help you reach those last few cm. of dilation.
Avatar f tn sounds like inactive labour. you can have this going on for days but you can attempt to turn it into true labour. during the day walking, squats, sex (but an orgasm is a must to do anything), nipple stimulation. if you have made any progress during the day to get regular contractions i suggest at night taking it easy. a nice bath and try and sleep cause this can go on for days. but remember even if they aren't regular they are working if your already 3cm.
Avatar n tn It's mainly at the bottom at the moment. I also lost my mucus plug this afternoon so I am guessing everything is moving in the right direction - I just have to be patient! Thank you!
Avatar f tn So can u feel the baby move while your feeling labour contractions. I'm curious I'm getting so many menstrual cramps and I feel my baby moving as well. I don't know if I'm in labour yet but I have been feeling pain for 2 hours. BTW I'm due in 3 days.
12861671 tn?1439752639 Tens machine is for use in labour to ease contractions. They have ones specifically designed for labour pain. There's no need to ask my doctor, as they are standard practice. I'm just wondering how much they help with labour pain and whether it's worth spending the money to buy one.
10559663 tn?1413260481 Hi alid32, sometimes your uterine contractions doesn't start in a pattern even if you are in labour..it's only when you are in active labour your contractions become stronger and starts to appear frequently.. I am a first time mum so every signs of pregnancy seems so strange..I too think that my contractions are just Braxton hicks..:( coz they appear seldomly..!!
Avatar f tn apparently during labour your suppose to push like ur taking the biggest poop ever, hence why lots of women poop the bed during labour.....
1911870 tn?1345419009 Can your baby move during a contraction or while you are in labor? I'm not sure if I am having contractions or not. I feel like vomitting. I've had 2 contractions so far. If that's what they are. 1 of them was really painful and the other not so much. What makes me think contraction is my belly was hard like a rock. The thing is I feel my baby moving around. What do you all think? I'm 37 weeks and have no idea of dialation/progress.
Avatar f tn is there a way to stop contractions or no ?
Avatar f tn Any ladies had this as pain relief during labour? Last time I had an epidural once I felt I had suffered enough but im wondering how this works. Does it relieve the pain but your not bed ridden?
11473749 tn?1437899164 Oh wait I just read it was for lower back pain! Which I don't get during labour, so maybe I won't use it then...
Avatar f tn Same as myself I was in hospital the other day with contractions and nothing happening....they said I'm probably in slow Labour but sure I dunno lol.....I feel like a fool at times. my boys are14 and 12 but on my second I didn't realize I was in Labour for hours ....
1171250 tn?1268734822 However with my first i was in labour for 10 hours before i had the c- section. I think they say real labour is when the contractions are regular and have been coming for a fair amount of time. Most of the time you should go to the hospital (depending how far away you live) when contractions are regular and about 5 minutes apart or when your water breaks as leaving it too long can lead to infection.
Avatar n tn hi, im 19 and 36 weeks pregnant, my little boy is due in March, im really excited since i cant wait to see him and to hold him in my arms, but ive been gettin small braxton hicks lately and im now getting really nervous and scared of labour, i no its normal to feel this way but i was hoping that i could get any advice or helpful hints to make labour more comfortable.
12584065 tn?1436320514 Do any of you have pain during Braxton hicks contractions? I didnt think there was suppose to be pain unless they are real.
Avatar f tn Yeah I would say you are getting sick. It during Labour during I for get but one of the last transition phase of Labour right before you have to push that a mom tends to get sick. I have puked during that phase in all my labours. There a bad flu bug going around. So keep your fluids up take your temperature etc. And if you aren't sure call your Dr.
Avatar f tn I feel stronger contractions this time but they r still painless n irregular...true labour contractions r at regular intervals, more painful. N have u lost the mucus plug?when I was pregnant with my first baby...
Avatar f tn So today I have been having some pretty 'intense' contractions. Not too painful but take my breathe away. I wasn't thinking too much about it until I went pee about 2 hours ago and wiped some blood. It wasn't pink, it was actually like a small amount of mucousy blood. Everytime I go pee there is a little bit less each time. But I am still having contractions and my back is starting to get kinda sore.
