contractions at week 20

Ok so this is my 5th pregnancy and I should know but, I forget. Should I be feeling Braxton hicks contractions this early? They aren't routine at all, but I've had them off and on all day. My last pregnancy I know I was having a lot around 30 weeks, and then my water broke. This has me pretty paranoid, especially considering I haven't hit the 24 week mark yet. Of course this has to happen on a weekend when the doctor's office is closed, so I have turned to you all for answers.

I'm sorry I've lost two one at 19 and another at 20 weeks and no at that point there is no turning back. It is contraindicated for a cerclage.. IT will get easier as time goes on but you will never forget your angel. I'm sure they are playing together in heaven now..

It sounds like Braxton hicks contractions. Totally normal...mine started at about 20 weeks. It's just your uterus practicing for labor.

At what week do your doctor start checking ur cervix for dilation? I will be 32wks on Thursday but I ve my routine appointment tmrw.....just wondering.

19 days til due date... 2-3 cm dilated...stopped labor at 34+4 and now still having contractions but they won't stay regular enough!!!!

Just FINALLY heard from my Dr.s office week 20 still UND! AND HMG holding at 9.3.......3 more weeks. Blood dont fail me now!!!

They didnt let me see my doctor that day and just tested my urine, said I was dehydrated and that was that and their reasoning was because it was 3 pm on a Friday and everyone was getting ready to go home. So that made me feel like crap. Now, at 20 weeks ive had my first braxton hick contraction the other day and today I woke up in tears over cramping and a pain on the right side of my uterus. I called the dr and receptionist said she'll talk to the dr and call back.

I would have described it more as a tightening of my abdomen. It happened during my week 20 appt. so I had my doctor feel what was happening and she said "Yep! You are experiencing BH contractions.

m been releasing mucous plug constantly a little at a time for about a week now, all clear, not blood tinged. When should I start to monitor contractions, I mean... I don't really know when one starts and ends, I just feel my belly at times and it's rock solid, and then it isn't... Lol ahhhh Help me!!!

d and found out I was having contractions about 20 mins apart. I was started on mag sulfate, and in about two hours they subsided and my pain was almost nil. Was sent to a larger hospital for observation (still in btw) and they stopped the mag to see how I'd do. About an hour later my stomach pain came back and I started contracting. All of my labs are normal, and my cervix is closed. They can't explain it.

s most probably just braxton hicks, but according to my obgyn, it needs to be checked/monitored at that point..just in case. And at my hospital, the monitoring is handled by ER before 20 weeks and L&D after 20 weeks.

We came in when my contractions were 20 mins apart (because we live so far from our hospital) and by the time we got here they went from 20 mins apart to 4 mins apart. But im not dilating past 2cm so now they have me walking for a few hours to see if it helps. If it doesn't they'll send me home. Im terrified going home with my contractions this close together.

I know this because i was sent to the hospital at week 22 and also week 38 for extremely close contractions, and they ended up being because i was dehydrated!! i would ask my Dr if that could be a factor for you, because after an iv or two the contractions completely went away! They feel like contractions really mild they'll stop after a while; where real contractions won't subside if your in labor whenever i got Braxton Hicks contractions I walked around to subdue them it helped

orgasms help with dilation or with effacement? Also, is this about where most women are at around this week? Is it possible to help dilation with things like walking, spicy foods, pineapple, yadda yadda or are those only ways to create contractions?

I have been walking up and Down my hill at home and been cleaning my house for days now .I even bought a pineapple .

Thankfully they were able to stop them with a medication and bedrest. I am currently 20 weeks and mine started about a week ago. I get atleast 3 or 4 everyday and they are painless. Hopefully it's nothing.
