Your doctor is suppose to check u no matter what whn your that close to your due date. From 37 wks on out, it shouldn't matter if you had contractions or not cause most ppl don't start having real contractions until labor.

I had the same thing happen at 33 weeks and I had to get shots to stop the contractions.

I have gone into preterm labor with each of my pgs on and off starting at about 20 weeks. Usally I went to the hospital and my ob met me there. I was kept while I got a shot to stop my contractions, and i wasnt allowed to leave until the contractions stopped. Based on that this time I am getting a weekly progesterone shot to prevent the preterm contractions and labor.

Why does it seem like I only experience contractions at night time. I'm only 37 weeks & I haven't lost a mucus plug so I'm sure they are braxton Hicks. But I only feel them at night time, anybody else like this?

t want them to be consistent because thats a sign of premature labor. Please let your doctor know because its to early for signs of labor. Contractions are your uterus getting ready for baby & if they are consistent this early thats no good.

Hi there sweetie. Definitely call your ob and follow their guidance. We can get braxton hicks contractions of 'false labor'. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK470546/ These are less painful than true contractions, believe it or not. If they checked your cervix and you aren't having true contractions, then this is the annoying braxton hicks. There are triggers for this. A very common one is dehydration. Drink drink drink. At work ,can you take a break more often?

What else causes contractions besides labor, I was at the hospital all day today contracting and they still sent me home... I'm currently still having them and idk what to do, how can I stop them or should I go to a different hospital??

We came in when my contractions were 20 mins apart (because we live so far from our hospital) and by the time we got here they went from 20 mins apart to 4 mins apart. But im not dilating past 2cm so now they have me walking for a few hours to see if it helps. If it doesn't they'll send me home. Im terrified going home with my contractions this close together.

Yup, just be patient when the contractions come and go within 3-5 mins and last at least 60 secs, then ull know it's time.. until then it's better to labor at home..

It's just a swab culture of your vagina. I get it done every two weeks because of my contractions. It determines if you're at risk of going into labor within next two weeks. If it's negative than you have a 99% chance of not going into labor and if it's positive than that only means you have a 50% chance of going into labor.

So these preterm labor contractions are annoying I have high pain tolerance so what usually a 4-5 to me is a 2-3 and that's how the contractions have felt and their just irritating.

labor contractions usually arent constant they will be a come and go thing and each can last a certain amount of time go away and come back but may get closer and also the labor contractions wont just be on one side..at least they were for me youd feel it in your whole lower region. . but if this your first pregnancy and it scares you a bit..

So I'm 38 weeks and 4 days pregnant, came to l and d for a severe pain that is not contractions but I got here to find out that I'm having contractions and they are 2-3 minutes apart but I'm not dilating. Were they just braxton hicks? You can have contractions but unless they're really really painful (sometimes they'll be really really painful and not do anything to your cervix, too) or regular, with other symptoms of labor, it's nothing to worry about. I went in for contractions around 21 weeks, and I was having contractions but they weren't changing my cervix so they were just normal, I've had a few since, nothing serious.

I was in preterm labor at 32 weeks and was dilated 1cm and 75% effaced. I was having contractions three to five mins apart for two hours so I decided to come to the hospital and im having a few mild ones and having contractions about 7 mins apart and im now 3 cm and 90% effaced. They are gonna keep monitoring me for two hours and then will check me to see what to do next!

You could stay there for awhile even... Are they going to let you deliver early?

They feel like contractions really mild they'll stop after a while; where real contractions won't subside if your in labor whenever i got Braxton Hicks contractions I walked around to subdue them it helped

My contraction are like 2 or 3 min apart .. but I'm sooo embarrasses to call him cause if he leaves and it ends up I just have an upset tummy .. but I FEEL like this is it ..

There are women on here who said they were at 5 and no labor yet. They won't send you just for being dilated, and they can't force you to be induced.
