667078 tn?1316000935 Now we have gone to the hardware store, the mall, two art galleries, coffee shop twice, grocery store, sat in on two meetings with clapping, UNC Hospital parking deck, skyway over to the hospital, all over the health sciences library next door, sat in on my therapy session. We did stairs, elevators, construction zones, and bus stops. She only balked at the restroom so we have to work on that. We are filling out the application from the state so wish us luck.
Avatar m tn 27 AM WASHINGTON (AP) — The Obama administration has delayed by nearly a year a plan to boost safety standards for the type of rail car involved in a fiery explosion that killed at least 47 people in Canada this month. Officials began work on the rule more than a year before an oil train derailed and exploded in Quebec on July 6 — but the rule was never put in place.
148588 tn?1465778809 TransCanada is having the same multi-national corporation, based in India, manufacture the pipe for KXL as they did for Phase 1 and 2. This company, Welspun, is being investigated for producing sub-standard steel that led to spills and leaks in other pipeline projects. Plus, TransCanada has procured this pipe even though they have not received a Presidential Permit to construct KXL.

Avatar n tn Pus means there is an infection, and at this point I would see your doctor. You may have something embedded in your knee that you know nothing about, and until that is removed it will stay infected. A friend of mine woke up with extreme pain on one side of his stomach and when he went to the hospital they found a piece of metal embedded in his stomach. He was in construction years prior to this and still doesn't recall any incident where this could have happened.
Avatar f tn Meetings have kept me sober for 17 years. Even when I stupidly thought my alcoholism meant I could take pain kills 5 years ago, I still did not pick up a drink. My dad was an alcoholic. He went to a few meetings and let the GOD thing run him away. I struggle with the God thing too, but I just substituted the group and AA as my higher power during times when I was mad at God or thought he was not there or did not exist. I still have a struggle with the god concept.
414635 tn?1272217693 I'm sure you have noticed that when you post a question all of the topics listed are about pregnancy.
Avatar f tn Well, my boyfriend has been in a similar situation. Not an abusive one or anything, but he feared for the safety of his kids whenever they went with their mother. He went to court to get full custody of the boys and that's what he based his case on. The fact that he feared for their safety. The only tricky part in YOUR situation is being able to prove that he's done something to make you think he would flee or try to harm the children in any way.
572651 tn?1530999357 Today I was due to attend my second session with Wendy, my very own Physical therapist, emphasis on the P, but unfortunately she had to cancel. A local construction project wiped a whole bunch of businesses off the power grid today- oops! As the voice on the other end of the phone explained, there were no lights and since there are also no windows in Wendy's little room, my appt. was postponed. Doing this work by flashlight or in the dark isn't an option.

190885 tn?1333025891 It helps if your co-workers know what's going on with you and are willing to take up the slack. I never made a secret of the fact that I was doing tx, partly because I feel it's a safety issue for everyone if you're not 100%. As for "doing high work", I would seriously consider using fall restraint PPE, especially if you become anemic. Good luck.
Avatar m tn It is so good to hear you talk about the fellowship and that you look forward to your meetings. I prayed for this for you but it can not be pushed, it is something you have to come to on your own. I didn't stick to it my first time around either. My first meeting was a long, long time ago and at first I went high and then I went because I was told I should and then I went because I was told I had to. It took me about a year and a half before I went because I wanted to.
654183 tn?1225309036 Personally, I don't like meetings so much...over the past 20 years I've gone to my fair share...I do much better with one on one therapy. Maybe you could see if he would go to a therapist/counselor. If that's not a possibility, he needs to find a/the meetings that are for him. Meetings are sort of like shoes...you have to find the ones that fit. Aftercare is so, so important. The physical pales in comparison to the mental...IMHO. Good luck!
Avatar f tn s one on one and you can really get to the bottom line of why you were using. I know that NA meetings would be a great place for you to go and share and learn and such, but perhaps a more discreet place to start and at least get the process going would be a private therapist or counselor of sorts. I'm not trying to nix the idea of NA/AA meetings, just give you another option.
Avatar f tn Stay with the meetings! Shop around for ones you like. I even ended up staying with a meeting for Vietnam Vets! I was the only woman but I totally identified with what they said better than some other meetings. Do get a sponsor. It sounds like you are very alone with this in the center of a circle of friends who use. This is doomed without support. Start with meetings. At least you know that everyone there can identify with your goal and won't work against it.
7680419 tn?1399056811 But listening to others stories is great for me. I especially like the AA speaker meetings on Saturday night around me. You find out you are no worse than others and that many have had a lifetime of drinking and drugs. And made it through it for a sober life. It is encouraging. You are not alone. Others are struggling too. Others relapse and have a hard time. If you stick with it, they become your friends. There are events to go too. Things to do.
Avatar f tn Yes. Overall my experience has been great. I've learned a lot about this disease and recovery. The first meeting was a little scary. They all have their traditions and everyone says the serenity prayer and other things all together. If you don't know the words, don't sweat it, you'll get it. When I walked into the room for the first time last summer, i was judging everyone around me. people were too old, too young, too scruffy, too immaculate, too different from me.
Avatar m tn Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved “black box” warnings and other safety-related product label changes for erythropoiesis-stimulating agents (ESAs). These drugs -- the most common of which is erythropoietin (EPO; brand names Procrit, Epogen) -- stimulate red blood cell production and are used to treat anemia.
Avatar m tn With regards to asbestos exposure, he should discuss the situation with other employees, his employee health and safety representative, and his employers. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) can provide more information or make an inspection. This link may be helpful: http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/factsheet/Risk/asbestos Take care and best regards.
Avatar n tn I think it is a nice idea but I am sure that things have to be to code or very specific for a crib. Not as strict for a bassinet though.
1157044 tn?1318300124 I cannot tolerate earplugs for long since my ears seem to be a sensitive place for my pain to rage as well. I do try to keep an ipod going all the time, but even if it can drown out the drilling noise it does nothing to help the vibration that runs right through my body. I have MS nerve pain. That sends my nerves raging almost worse than the noise. If that were not enough, the dynamite blasts I believe will start tonight, unless the potential storm delays it.
Avatar f tn I overdosed and ended up in a rehab in Fla. I signed myself out of there because I was afraid for my safety. 1st thing I did when I got home was to go to an NA meeting, Every community has a number you can call or even go on line like I did and search NA meetings for your area. In NA I met quite a few old timers of AA (members with over 20 years of sobriety). I am 10 months clean today, thanks to NA and AA.
Avatar f tn I would definitely talk to your doctor. I think for the 1st trimester you will be ok, just really have to watch how much weight u lift at a time and probably shouldn't wear your heavy tool belt. As you progress, depending on if you have any other complications or not, you may have to reduce how much you're up and down a ladder, again how much you lift, etc. And as your belly grows, it will be harder and harder to fit into some of the areas you need to for pulling wire, etc.
