Avatar n tn I do construction and currently 10 weeks and have done it since day 1. My question is, is it ok to be doing the heavy lifting, going up and down ladders all day. Power tools and all... ??
148588 tn?1465778809 economy, creating 20,000 direct construction and manufac-turing jobs and 119,000 indirect jobs. Cornell Global Labor Institute’s (GLI) analysis of the project has found that these numbers are unsubstantiated, and that the project will produce far fewer jobs than they claim. In fact, the construction of KXL may destroy more jobs than it creates." "KXL’s U.S. Project Budget is $3.3 billion, NOT $7 billion: TransCanada claims that KXL is a $7 billion project.
Avatar n tn Pus means there is an infection, and at this point I would see your doctor. You may have something embedded in your knee that you know nothing about, and until that is removed it will stay infected. A friend of mine woke up with extreme pain on one side of his stomach and when he went to the hospital they found a piece of metal embedded in his stomach. He was in construction years prior to this and still doesn't recall any incident where this could have happened.
630047 tn?1289248521 Suddenly the horse falls into a mud hole and starts sinking. He tells the chicken to go and get the farmer to help pull him out to safety. The chicken runs to the farmer, but the farmer can't be found. So he drives the farmer's Mercedes back to the hole and ties some rope around the bumper. He then throws the other end of the rope to his friend and drives forward saving the horse from sinking.
Avatar n tn Id read the Hep C question, we do walk among you!!!!! lol...just a bit of sick humor there...we're not contagious like having the flu, or a cold, or even MRSA, nothing...
Avatar m tn I appreciate the humor. I was just wondering how you both can be so demonstrative in your statements. Saying it is absolutely not possible is a provocative statement.
190885 tn?1333025891 i know this is tough to answer cause everyone is different while tx but are some of you folks in construction...doing high work with power tools..building houses?? ...thanks....
Avatar m tn With regards to asbestos exposure, he should discuss the situation with other employees, his employee health and safety representative, and his employers. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) can provide more information or make an inspection. This link may be helpful: http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/factsheet/Risk/asbestos Take care and best regards.

1061306 tn?1254664568 I have to laugh at myself... and am very open with others in regards to my mental issues. Don't hide it well anyway, poker face has never been a talent of mine. Laughing is the best medicine. (if you can muster it up). I don't get too defensive when others poke fun... more so when they don't take it seriously. THAT is frustrating and does make it difficult to fnd humor in my situation. I always say, "self-deprecating humor is only funny when I use it".
Avatar n tn Okay so my boyfriend is in school right now for construction and said he wants to build her crib himself... I really dont know what to think of it. I trust him i know that he could do it but idk if that would exactly be the best option.. What do you ladies think? Would you let him do it or go out and just buy one from the store?
179856 tn?1333547362 Hmm, mine seems to be working ok and see others posting as well. And you started a new thread, so a bit confusing. It might be your server at work causing some issues or an anti-virus/spyware problem?? Try to delete your cache and history. If using IE, go to Safety > Delete Browsing History > Check all boxes > Delete . Otherwise, might have to contact your IT person.
152660 tn?1291755571 Hi All! We are getting ready to begin finishing my parent's basement into an apartment for myself. We will be doing most of the work ourselves mainly during weekends and will have someone coming in to work on the floor who will be using jackhammers for probably 2 days then put in two egress windows. We will have a plumber and electrician come in to work too. We will probably have people in for 6-7 days at once and then plumber and electrician do more later.
1301089 tn?1290666571 Isn't this nice! We're giving those dear little drug smugglers and murderers their own park. Never mind it's American National Parkland. Funded and paid for with American tax money. I guess actually guarding it with armed Guardsmen might insult someone.
Avatar f tn I had a friend who dressed as a construction worker ( hard hat, neon safety vest) and she painted a stop sign on her tummy that said "caution BUMP" I thought it was super cute.
Avatar m tn I’m concerned about exposure to construction dust leading to silicosis. I work in a theater that’s been under construction for a few months. They are installing new stadiums and seats. I know they are drilling/jackhammering concrete, mixing concrete and other general construction tasks like that. I try to be careful to avoid the areas where the construction is heaviest but some times my tasks force me to move through them.
Avatar f tn This machine features a motor with a 2.75 hp rating. The two floor-levelers provide some amount of leveling adjustment. Performance on our durability test - simulating a half-year of usage - was fair, showing noticeable signs of wear. Safety: The "stop" button size was considered excellent. The magnetic style safety-key disengaged without issue when a user drifted toward the end of the running belt, which stopped the motor and running belt as expected.
Avatar n tn Sorry just a bit of humor there.. I am disabled due to my neck and back problems, and get disability for them. So I guess it's a bit of a safety net if you will.. I have many disc and spur issues. I think the correct medical term for what I suffer from is Spinal Stenosis Myelopathy. I have a Dr. and have a follow up coming next week. I was just being impatient... Thanks for the response.
