Avatar f tn Hello my 11 year old son suffered a gr.2 concussion during a hockey game. He had a MRI which showed the brain was fine but after 3 months he still hasn't gone one day without getting a headache. He is itching to run around and play. Can he run, jump, ride a bike even if he is still getting headaches or should he do no physical activity even after 3 months? We're trying physio. now to see of it helps.

587778 tn?1261397118 Hi everyone, nearly a month ago, I fell and hit the back of my head on ice. I was dx with a concussion & retrograde amnesia. I had severe neck and back pain as well. I was hospitalized for 2 days. Now, with the help of physical therapy my neck and back are finally beginning to loosen up. I am worried about the long term effects of having a concussion.
612876 tn?1355514495 t be here right now to keep up with things. Yesterday I was diagnosed with a concussion from the syncope I had in the shower last week, which explains many of the symptoms I'm having. My doctor is hoping these symptoms will alleviate as my brain recovers over the next week or two from the injury to it. I am also awaiting some blood work, and word from my cardiologist on a dosage change on one of my meds with regards to what may have caused this downturn in the first place.
Avatar n tn Yes it does sound like a concussion. I would see your doctor right away or go to the ER to make sure there is no serious damage. They will probably do a CT scan or MRI.
Avatar m tn My 4 week old staffy x pup fell off the bed today. He was active prior to this and was playing with the other pups and fell about 3 feet. He cried a lot and now has gone very quiet and is just sitting on my lap. Is he old enough to sustain a small knock to his head without it causing any damage besides a slight concussion?
Avatar m tn I'm in highschool and during soccer i got a concussion, the doctors said my brain was fine in a cat scan but ever since I have had chronic migraines and headaches for a year now. I saw a neurologist and am on amitriptyline and zolmitriptan. It has reduced my headaches from everyday to four times a week and my migraines from twice a week to once a month. i found that also pushing myself through physical exercise helps too. I still cannot attend school though and am homeschooled as a result.
Avatar n tn No, my doctor just said I had a concussion, there was no tests for it. And I had a CAT scan in November because of a seizure but everything came up clear, but I haven't had a scan since my fall.
Avatar f tn Part of making the experience successful is by thoughtful party planning and having fun baby shower games! Before starting the baby shower games, it is always good to go around the room first as an ice breaker and have everyone introduce themselves and how they know the Mother-To-Be. Avatar n tn She then attempted to vomit unsuccesfully many times before fading in and out of concsiousness. Is that concussion or is it more serious?? she went to hospital i dont really know her but i want to know if she is ok!
Avatar f tn As to the concussion being permanent, in most cases, a single concussion should not cause permanent damage.
1983058 tn?1527442254 We got him there within 2 hours and it was determined that he suffered a concussion. When it first happened, he did lose Consciousness for approximately one minute or so. On the way to to hospital he did regain Consciousness and was moving all of his extremities. He never had a seizure and did respond to his name. He then began to vomit and had respirations that were rapid and a bit labored. The doctor determined by x-ray that he did aspirate.
471949 tn?1236904026 I was in a car accident about a month ago and had a mild concussion along with injury to my C2-C5. I've had horrible headaches every since the accident. Just yesterday it was so bad that I actually blacked out (hit the floor). I'm dizzy quite often, have ringing in my ears also. I'm being treated by a chiropractor for my neck injury. Any thoughts?
Avatar m tn cortisol, ecg, chest xray, abdomen ultrasound, rft, lft, thyroid, cbc with esr, stool test, random sugar test.Everything was normal. I had this symptoms 3 months before suddenly. The symptoms went away in few days. Again after 20 days of the first bout, it started. Now, I don’t get severe lightheadness( not like room spinning) like the first time, but I do get them and specially during evening times. I have noticed that it gets better when applying ice pack on my neck.
Avatar f tn Hi, I fell and hit my head thurday, Friday I had an x ray which was fine. it is now Monday and I am still feeling dizzy, even more so than the last few days. I am going to dr today for a referral for ct scan.
Avatar f tn the hospital said that I had a chest contusion, concussion, and strain muscle in my back and neck. Now my abdomen is hurting, and I am bleeding black blood.what does this mean.
Avatar f tn After over a year I went to several chiropractors due to continued pain and reduced function in my right arm. After taking X-rays one of the chiropractors decided to try mechanical cervical traction to see if that would help. I felt some neck discomfort but no pain during traction. Less than 10 minutes after traction I had sudden onset weakness on my right side with foot drop as well as swelling on the left side of my neck. I had no problems with my right leg prior to this.
Avatar m tn Since you have a headache and twitching, perhaps you should see a doctor and get an X-ray or ct scan to determine if you are hurt worse than you think. You probably have a concussion - and usually they are not bad enough to warrant medical attention. But sometimes a concussion can cause a bleed in the brain or a crushed disc or cracked vertebrae. If you can afford it, go to the ER and have them check you over.
868804 tn?1239583770 The ultrasound revealed a thyroid nodule measuring 10mm x 15mm x 15mm and a collection of fluid nearby. Then i went for a CT scan on my thyroid which revealed nothing more than the ultrasound. Now im going for a second ultrasound tomorrow. This whole process has been going on since mid december. Im very frustrated and im looking for suggestions. Is there anyway this could be related to my problems in soccer? I dont really know what anyone could say to me, im just at a loss for what to do.
Avatar f tn Six months ago I was hit in the back of the head, and probably received a concussion. For a month after, I was dizzy and nautious and all I wanted to do was lay down and sleep. I never went to the doctor, but did talk to a doctor friend after the fact and from what I explained he said I probably had a concussion.
3078345 tn?1340806018 My kids' Doctors believe that 2 out of 3 of my kids have fragile "x" syndrome. My (6 years old next month) son will be tested first in a couple of weeks. My sons behavior is very unique. My son has been diagnosed with moderate/severe Autism at 2 1/2 years old but as he got older it has become more A-typical Autism + ADHD. He acts like characters from games & movies. No matter what we eliminate from his vision he becomes characters good or bad, villain or heroes.
973741 tn?1342342773 Times have greatly changed from when I was a kid! Enter electronics. I've read and know the addictive component to gaming. And it is true, it seems to cause kids to throw out all reason to 'finish the game'. It's hard though because it has become a social avenue for kids. They don't 'talk on the phone' like my generation did. Now they text or talk through their headphones and the X box. I heard my son tell his friends to 'meet him on x box in an hour'.
