Avatar n tn Now completely symptom free(balance/strength/headaches/dizziness)-most of his symptoms were due to neck injury(whiplash occurring w/concussion)-((search whiplash injury and headaches(C2,C3 cervical spine injury) )) I'm sure your son's neck is tight or has restricted range of motion.
1581710 tn?1306874604 I had that and whiplash with my accident. The headache was blamed on post concussion syndrome even after the Chiari was diagnosed. Best of luck to you. I hope you find relief. Headaches that last for days are no fun!
16465326 tn?1448202692 The attending Physician said I checked out neurologically and did not order a CT scan of my brain. A concussion was her diagnosis. Since the fall I have had the following symptoms: 1. Whiplash as my sternocleidomastoid muscles in the front of my neck have seized up and are extremely sore. Especially bad in the morning upon waking until I get going through my day. 2. Extremely irritable as the smallest of things seem to enrage me. Not emblematic of my normal behavior..3.

Avatar m tn I have recently been in a rear end auto accident and am curious if it is possible that the injuries involved with having whiplash can complicate or worsen sleep apnea? I have not been diagnosed with sleep apnea but have all the symptoms, loud snoring, snorts that awaken me as well as endless fatigue. Since the accident I find myself even more tired and sleep more disturbed which concerns me. Any medical advice would be appreciated.
Avatar m tn Hi, my problems began over a year ago when I got whiplash. My gp sent me for a ct scan which showed lesions on the brain. The only symptons I have is pain in neck and head, weekness in legs and numbness in my hands and feet. I do on occasions have problems with my memory. I have since had a mri scan which shows lots of lesions. I have to wait 3 months to see neurologist. I just want to know if I have ms.
Avatar m tn I'm with Rox on this. But I'm also not sure what you are describing is what whiplash feels like. Whiplash is just stiffness and pain. You're describing what might be concussion symptoms. Docs are not good at dealing with this kind of thing, frankly. I was a passenger in a car that was rear-ended many years ago by a drunk driver. We were stopped at a red light, and the drunk used us as his brake, essentially, and the seat I was in broke so I did a pretty big back and forth.
Avatar n tn I had a slight concussion, and whip lash. Ever since then I have had severe headaches on the left side of my head and frequent dizziness. The headaches start on the left side of my neck and travel into my head. I wake up in severe pain everyday, and if I move my neck the wrong way or sleep the wrong way, I am severly dizzy all day. This has been very dibilatating during the past two years. I spent months in physical therapy and there was no real relief.
Avatar f tn I had a car wreck January 18th this year and was diagnosed with a concussion and severe whiplash. I had an MRI done February 22nd and got the results February 25th and they found a Syrinx in my thoracic spine from T6 to T9 with 4mm being greatest in diameter. Is this from the wreck and what should I do?
Avatar m tn Could be a pinched nerve in your neck or back, an ear infection, sinus problems, a concussion, whiplash, trouble with your vision, a blocked septum in your nose... the list goes on. I would suggest seeing your doctor for a complete physical. Wishing you the best...
Avatar f tn I have made the mistake of NOT going to a doctor, NOT going to the emergency room (after a car accident/whiplash) and self diagnosing. Head injuries/concussion are brain Injuries. If you end up on disability, in an insurance claim, or in a lawsuit, you will need medical documentation. This could affect your ability to do or keep your job depending if memory and concentration are important for the safety of yourself/others.
Avatar f tn Hi all. I have some concerns and needed some direction. I was involved in a rather serious accident where I was hit by a speeding semi truck which overturned and totaled my car. long story short it was a miracle that my daughter and I survived let alone walked away. But I suffered from a concussion and whiplash. Emergency room did a cat scan and said that was good. Can't get into neurologist any sooner than April 7. I'm 20 months post op and have CCI and high ICP.
1433614 tn?1283448459 I have had stiff neck issues (prior to incident i have been into an accident a few years ago and got whiplash still have issues to this day (4 yrs later) i have had memory problems due to the blow to the head, Confusion, Dizziness (seeing stars), out of the blue i just "fall asleep" doesn't matter what time of day it is, or what im doing, well starting Monday Aug. 30th, 2010 i began feeling a pain in my right eye.
Avatar m tn It was a miracle my daughter and myself walked away. But I suffered a concussion and whiplash and herniated a few discs. My best advise is to find a true chiari specialist to guide you through the testing process. As miserable as you are currently, it can only get worse if you choose the wrong dr. I can attest to that.
Avatar f tn After experiencing unrelenting fatigue with soft tissue damage from a back and neck injury in Israel in June 2008, I was almost recovered when I suffered a concussion and whiplash as a passenger in an auto accident in March, 2009. Fatigue increased to where I could fall asleep anywhere, anytime and would just fall as if fainting but awake, also had balance problems and kept dropping things.
Avatar n tn I always wondered if this was some how connected but I had a million tests after my wreck and they only came up with a severe concussion/bruised brain. I do yoga and run about 25 miles a week. Sometimes this helps, sometimes it makes things worse. I really don't want to go back to the ENT, but maybe I should? Any natural rememedies that can be suggested? Thanks!
Avatar n tn I finally went to a chiropractor who agreed with my research that I have "Post concussion syndrome". I had never heard of that but it can be triggered by a car accident. It is basically a mild traumatic brain injury but getting a doctor to diagnos you with this is very difficult because of the anxiety and mood swings that are a part of it. I am going to insist my doctor take these symptoms seriously because they have had a major impact on my life. Back to the chiropractor...
Avatar f tn Hello, I have been having tons of trouble with my left shoulder blade and upper back. Around 3 years ago I got in a skiing accident and hurt my left shoulder - I suffered a mild concussion and whiplash. Since then I have developed a numb spot of my left shoulder blade. It tingles and throbs sometimes. When I touch it, its like numb but I can still feel it if that makes any sense. Its a lot different then the feeling in my right shoulder blade.
Avatar f tn I was in a car accident 7 months ago, and it was pretty bad. I ran my car head on into a tree and I got pretty banged up. I went to the doctors the following day, and sure enough, I had a pretty severe concussion. I've had concussions before, the worst caused me to miss 4 months of schooling, that was roughly 5 years ago. Now, I get nauseous at random times. Most of the time when I ride in a vehicle or drive anywhere (not all of the time though), and when I lay down to go to bed.
Avatar m tn I suffered whiplash, torn rotator cuff. It had to be operated on. I had a concussion. I suffered 2 protruding discs in my neck, and two herniated discs in m y lower back. This was 3.5 years ago. I still suffer being dizzy, I fall down frequently losing my balance. I do walk with a cane. I have 4 of the best doctors in the country treating me at UPMC Pittsburgh. First the concussion specialist sent me to all kinds of therapy. This helped a little. I was having cognitive problems.
Avatar f tn I am 21 years old and getting headaches are common for me, specifically tension headaches. I see a chiropractor every few weeks. For over a year I have been experiencing pulsating, pressure in my head, like my heartbeat that is intense when I lay on my stomach, it doesn't occur with any other position. It lasts only for a few moments but is quite uncomfortable. My chiropractor isn't quite sure what it is and my regular adjustments are not helping this particular problem.
