when some one suffers from concussion at what stage shold they be taken by ambulance to hospital. Does that happen if the person has a long period of unconsciousness or just with any unconscoussness? if when they wake up they have a dazed and confused look on their face and then when they try to stand up they loos there balance should they be called and ambulance and be taken to hospital. I had a metal iron shelf fall on my head at work 4 months ago, got a concussion and ended up with post traumatic concussion syndrome. He needs to go to the doctor!!!!! He needs to have a CT or MRI to check for headbleeding then he needs to see a neurologist and let them run test!!!!! It's so important. They told me if I hit my head again I'll have permanent damage.
I have a pretty good knot on my head still and know I had a concussion (dizziness, fatigue, nausea/vomiting and headache). Oh, I don't like the sound of that. While it might be normal to vomit, it can equally be a sign that he's had a little concussion or small bleed in his brain. So, take him on over to the ER, especially if you notice he's overly sleepy, and have him checked out. It can't hurt. My brother had a hit on his head like that, he said he felt out of it for a few minutes, but then he was okay. But he is an adult.
I am sorry I don't know what pcs stands for so I cannot comment.
In the meantime I would ask for a medication to prevent vomiting as it will ruin your teeth etc.

As far as my experience goes, a hit with a base ball bat should cause some short term problems like concussion and post concussion symptoms. But if there was no unconsciousness, nausea or vomiting, a serious brain damage is ruled out.

He is normal one minute then suddenly loses his balance, gets dizzy and begins vomiting. He has nystagmus of the eyes for quite some time as well during these episodes. He had gone 2 1/2 yrs. without an episode until this past weekend. It was the first time he could speak so we knew exactly what he felt. In most cases the episode comes on by a knock to his head. I suffered a concussion 4 months ago when I fell during a parade with my high school band. My mom took me to the ER and I was diagnosed with a concussion. I had a CT scan and nothing was out of the ordinary, and it seemed to just be a mild concussion.
4 months later, I'm still having issues. I'm a junior in high school and concentration and memory issues made me switch out of all of my honors classes into regular ones and drop both math and science completely.
How long after a concussion is it normal to still be feeling nauseous and have difficulty with memory, balance etc. I got hit in the face with a softball 11 days ago and am still nauseous. Cannot stand on one leg with eyes closed, and have forgotten things like PIN numbers, passwords etc. is it too soon to expect these symptoms to be gone, or should I go back to the drs. I did also break my nose, which was realigned under local anaesthetic 6 days ago. No LOC. No actual vomiting.

Four days ago I hit the right side of my forehead, frontal lobe on corner of hard wood door. It swelled up immediately and iced it for two or so hours then went to bed. Day three I started bruising around outside of my eye and became tired and confused a little. My dr. Tested me and said it was mild concussion and to take it easy. Does anyone know what signs I can look for if I'm to be getting better. I'm still tired, irritable and restless.
She has a little nausea, shes sure she has a slight concussion. She has no memeory loss. She is saying that her face is numb she can feel when she touches her face but when she doesnt touch it she has a tingling sensation should we go to an ER? Would that cause nerve damage to her whole face?

i was at the wrong place, wrong time and 10 guys used my head as a soccer ball, i suffered a major concussion about 8 months ago, it took me about 3 to 4 weeks to recover. i had major dizzy spells and light headedness, to vomiting and trauma. after my recover everything went back to normal and i thank the man upstairs for fully recover.
