John's concussion occured over a year ago. Is it too late for treatment? What are the treatment options? He has also been on quite a few medications to deal with this sleep problems. Could any medications that are either used to help with sleep or used to promote day time wakefulness cause hperosmia?

This condition is a complex disorder in which a combination of post-concussion symptoms like headaches, tinnitus and dizziness are experienced. I'm in highschool and during soccer i got a concussion, the doctors said my brain was fine in a cat scan but ever since I have had chronic migraines and headaches for a year now. I saw a neurologist and am on amitriptyline and zolmitriptan. It has reduced my headaches from everyday to four times a week and my migraines from twice a week to once a month. i found that also pushing myself through physical exercise helps too. I still cannot attend school though and am homeschooled as a result.

I am a young 70 yo female with a history of concussion 2015. Having feeling of pressure in occipital area of my head for approx. 6 months. I have suffered from 2 concussions. My first one happened tubing behind a boat in summer 2011. Fell off the tube and immediately felt dizzy, almost as if it took me a few seconds to regain myself. Hello my 11 year old son suffered a gr.2 concussion during a hockey game. He had a MRI which showed the brain was fine but after 3 months he still hasn't gone one day without getting a headache. There is no treatment. Do not rest all the time even if you want to, to rest all day is bad for you. It's good in the acute phase, but not now (is this true?). To be active is good, but don't overdo it. It takes up to three years to recover fully. You will recover fully. They haven't mentioned PCS. i would ask is there anyway that this could be permanent since i cannot receive treatment or if this could get worse since i am not receiving treatment. i have had 1 CT scan and prescription for 12 days back in late July early August.

Time will tell (usually by puberty) whether there is a problem as growth of the nasal bones and septum result in either a cosmetic or a functional problem. If so, treatment would be more appropriate at that time. Any surgical treatment now might affect growth centers that could condemn her to more problems later.

I fell backwards 1 month ago,suffered a concussion, and have lost my sense of taste and smell. I have learned that this is caused by nerve damage. I am also lightheaded and my ears are somewhat plugged(ear pressure). I was wondering how long a nerve takes to heal itself, or does it? Is the dizziness a result of the injury or a seperate issue?

After suffering a concussion April 17, 2008 I lost my sense of smell and taste. I was pushed off a 3 foot wall and knocked out for over a minute. I have had a CT scan and an MRI which show nothing wrong. But I still cannot smell or taste anything. Any suggestions?

Yesterday I suffered mild blow to the head. I have hit my head many times before, much harder than yesterday and yet, I've never experienced any symptoms that might be indicative of concussion. Yesterday, however, I felt a bit dizzy for a few minutes immediately after having been hit. Also, 15 minutes following the blow, I started to feel a bit nauseated.

Hi, Thank you for your question. After such head impact such kind of neurological symptoms are common due to extent of damaged part of brain and may remain symptomatic or progress in future. Although any sure success cure can not be assured in such cases, but symptomatic relief or it may decrease with period of time, physiotherapy, avoiding any triggering factors and life style modification help you in certain extent.
