I have 4 of the best doctors in the country treating me at UPMC Pittsburgh. First the concussion specialist sent me to all kinds of therapy. This helped a little. I was having cognitive problems. She had me tested over a 6 month peroid.
The results were I can get things right but it takes me so long I fail the tests. She sent me to an ENT specialist, Dr. Furman one of the best in the country. He had me tested. I did rotary chair tests, caloric tests, hearing tests, and many more.

I'm in highschool and during soccer i got a concussion, the doctors said my brain was fine in a cat scan but ever since I have had chronic migraines and headaches for a year now. I saw a neurologist and am on amitriptyline and zolmitriptan. It has reduced my headaches from everyday to four times a week and my migraines from twice a week to once a month. i found that also pushing myself through physical exercise helps too. I still cannot attend school though and am homeschooled as a result.

It is abundantly clear that in some cases concussions may result in seizures. That is not a "theory". It is a medical fact. It doesn't require "discussion". But not all concussions result in a seizure. There can be varying degrees of damage depending on the severity off the blow, where the impact takes place, and from resultant swelling, and if there is a delay in seeking medical attention. A "concussion" is not a "concussion".

Your symptoms could be due to migraine or PCS ( post concussion syndrome ) because of the concussion that you had years ago.Please go for an MRI brain to know the exact cause and consult a neurologist for treatment as a delay could be dangerous. I was in a bad car accident a month ago . If you do decide to return to the Chiari Institute for you care, you can feel good about your choice, as many members here in this community have received great results there. IS there a reason why you chose to return to Pittsburgh for treatment - TCI doctors out of network? My insurance company told me that they would approve an out of network doctor if there are no other suitable surgeons within a 30-mile radius of your home. But I imagine that would have to be documented.
Please consult a neurologist. The treatment is to remove the compression. You have to discuss the best treatment option with a neurologist, which can range from medication to physiotherapy to traction, cervical collars or even surgery. Alternatively you can visit a chiropractor or a physical therapist and learn some exercises which you can do to relieve the compression.

I was hit from behind when playing ball hockey and I suffered a concussion after I went head first into the goalie. I had a cat scan done and it was normal immediately after the hit.
