Well.. today my head still hurts, but I am noticing pain in my ear as well still. That began last night. Since I do not have insurance, I am wondering if I should be concerned and seek treatment. Please advise!
Avatar n tn I have had patients with this condition. However, there is no specific treatment for post-concussion syndrome. Management usually is directed at individual symptoms. Avatar f tn Yesterday, at gymnastics practice, i fell and hit the back of my head off of the floor. This floor was kinda soft, but it still hurt when I hit my head. My head hurt for a few minutes after that, but then the pain mostly went away. I kept practicing and I still felt pretty good, just a very slight head pain. Today, I was volunteering for something and I had to stand up for hours with only a few breaks, and I got a small pain in my head/eyes and I slept for a few hours afterwards.
Avatar m tn If your symptoms have recently worsened a lot, sometimes this can happen if a person who has a concussion already, then they somehow bang their head again and then symptoms can worsen. I hope your symptoms are not related to hitting your head, rather perhaps you've got something else less serious wrong, but it just seems to me if you've had headaches ever since your fall, and plus you feel sleepy a lot, a doc has got to check you out!
Avatar m tn Again it is too early to say it is Post Concussion Syndrome. I am suffering from Post Concussion Syndrome and it is worse. Give some time to heal before you start any activities and you will be fine. Doctors didn't tell me to take rest and I returned to activities soon and on disability now. Good luck.
Avatar n tn I hit my head 2 days ago and now I have been getting headaches, dizziness and nausea. The headache is mostly where I hit my head. While I was driving I experienced a tingling sensation through both of my arms and hands and felt weak.
163305 tn?1333668571 Many doctors think the best treatment for fibromyalgia is thyroid replacement hormones, since fibromyalgia was not even a condition until the mid 1980's when it was decided that TSH would be the "gold standard" for thyroid testing and because the range was too wide, many people who had previously been diagnosed with hypothyroidism, were now left with no diagnosis...
Avatar f tn Hi, Thank you for your question. After head injury or impact such kind of symptoms like loss of smell or taste and other symptoms may be common due to extent of damaged part of brain and may remain symptomatic or progress in future. Although any sure success cure can not be assured in such cases, but symptomatic relief or it may decrease with period of time, physiotherapy, avoiding any triggering factors and life style modification help you in certain extent.

435918 tn?1204737341 I was diagnosed with cervical strain, but followed up with my primary MD because my head hurt so bad I could not hold it up. He ordered a CT of my head which came back normal, as well as giving me a prescription of Percocet. Today is the 21st consecutive day that I have had a headache, my eye has been twitching for the past 3 hours or so, and I'm kind of fed up and tired of feeling this way... headache, fatigue, jaw pain, etc.
Avatar f tn How many brain cells are lost from a hard hit to the head, for example, being hit on the head with a plastic lantern and not experiencing any severe symptoms? What is the maximum amount of brain cells that can be lost without affecting the memory or mathemtaics prowess?

Avatar n tn When my husband was discharged from the ER they gave him a paper explaining about head concussion. So we assumed he had a head concussion. He did o.k. for two days and then started being confused and disoriented again. For the most part he seems fine, but today he had another episode of confussion/disorientation and dizziness. Are this symptoms normal? Thanks for any response.
Avatar f tn t done anything like that since, until I got the concussion and a few months into the treatment etc I started cutting again and feeling suicidal. I didn't tell anyone at first because I was worried about my work finding out. Could this all be from the concussion?
Avatar n tn Yes it does sound like a concussion. I would see your doctor right away or go to the ER to make sure there is no serious damage. They will probably do a CT scan or MRI.

Avatar n tn About 6 months ago I got a concussion after fainting and hitting my head. They did a CT that came back ok. Over the next few weeks I experienced major nausea and a sensation of weakness. I had other symptoms like trouble focusing and reading and light sensitivity, but those went away after about a month. I ended up getting an MRI which came back normal and was told that I had post concussive syndrome.

Avatar f tn symptoms typically developed without a painful blow to the head. She just insisted that I never even had a concussion and went on to say that obviously I am prone to imagined/mentally induced ailments since I was diagnosed with CFS/Fibromyaligia in my early 20's (I'm in my late 30's now and up til now have lived a pretty normal life, learned to live with it/manage it) and she doesn't believe that it is a real illness.
Avatar m tn I'm in highschool and during soccer i got a concussion, the doctors said my brain was fine in a cat scan but ever since I have had chronic migraines and headaches for a year now. I saw a neurologist and am on amitriptyline and zolmitriptan. It has reduced my headaches from everyday to four times a week and my migraines from twice a week to once a month. i found that also pushing myself through physical exercise helps too. I still cannot attend school though and am homeschooled as a result.
Avatar f tn Last Aug (09) I had a concussion/neck injury which left me with post concussion symptoms that subsided in Nov. The neck injury has been an ongoing problem with pain. With it has been the rocking sensation that is in sync with my heart beat. Had MRIs of head and neck (shows DDD bulging discs in neck, pinched nerve), Audiology exams (clear), Neurologist exam and Steroid Injs in neck.
