when some one suffers from concussion at what stage shold they be taken by ambulance to hospital. Does that happen if the person has a long period of unconsciousness or just with any unconscoussness? if when they wake up they have a dazed and confused look on their face and then when they try to stand up they loos there balance should they be called and ambulance and be taken to hospital. I was diagnosed with a mild concussion a little under a week ago. i am scheduled to have a full optometry exam (dilation of the pupils) done tomorrow. Is it ok to still have that exam done?
I went to a concussion specialist who performed an impact test on me and diagnosed me with a concussion. A couple weeks later I got cleared but soon after I started experiencing severe sensitivity to light and my vision seemed to worsen. I had been given glasses to use while driving for distance and now I have to wear them all the time or I can’t see.

I diagnosed concussion because I had pretty much all the symptoms of one. And I didn't go to the hospital for two reasons 1) I didn't feel like trusting my driving skills after that 2) I did a typical test for "serious" head trama (watching what your eyes do, how long you can focus on things ext) so I knew it wasn't "serious" so I didn't think to go. It bled alot at first then slowed down and stopped completely around 8 hours later. it seems to be healing but is still slightly an openish soar. I had a headache of course for the past three days which has reduced to a dull ache. There is a loss of feeling around the area, accept the gash which is more sore. I get slightly sick to my stomache when its messed with and now my head seams to be constontly itching. I also had a slight eye twitch which has stopped.
After head injury or impact such kind of symptoms like loss of smell or taste and other symptoms may be common due to extent of damaged part of brain and may remain symptomatic or progress in future. The ER doctor usually looks for any sign of life threatening condition. If he does not find any, he may not think any further, and may send you home.
The acute symptoms of concussion start fading away soon after the injury. Hence it is likely that the ER will miss it completely.
I suffered from yet another concussion in Oct 2012. When I flew to a lower altitude 3 weeks later I had no problems adjusting to the change in air pressure however upon returning to 5000 ft above sea level I could not function for days after. The same thing happened when I flew again 1 month later. I completely believe that a change in air pressure from flying and even every day weather changes affects me. Sunny high pressure days were the worst.

I have no concussion symptoms and no lump and I have been sneezing a few times, but lately the pain will not occur during the day, but sometimes start at night. I have applied heat and taken aleve which seems to help it, but how long will it take for the tingling sensation to go away?
Was intoxicated. Had a huge lump. Went to Urgent Care 3 days later, no need for a CT scan just a mild concussion. Did not have any symptoms beside bruised head. Next day, I was very, very dazed. Felt like I was in a dream Day after that had some mild headaches. Went to my regular GP 3 days later. Again, no need for CT scan just had a mild concussion. I have severe anxiety.

Your symptoms could be due to migraine or PCS ( post concussion syndrome ) because of the concussion that you had years ago.Please go for an MRI brain to know the exact cause and consult a neurologist for treatment as a delay could be dangerous.
