12128836 tn?1423574148 I am doing mixed martial arts for about 1 year and of course i took big shots to my face... I am very worried about getting knocked out cold , uncoscionus.. I NEED to know if my friend brain, will have permanent damages, i mean serious damages..i've heard you must take off from fighting 3-4 weeks for healing.. It will be dangerous a second black out after my brain healed? Or it will just heal as the first one?
Avatar m tn my father was in a motorcycle accident and hit the right front side of his head and can now not taste or smell anything he can tell hot cold but not salt or sugar when will this come back?
10506901 tn?1431350757 However due to the circumstance I highly doubt what happened caused a concussion. I had a migraine while training at a martial arts gym and when the migraine symptoms lasted for 3 weeks I was diagnosed with concussion. The reason I do not think it is a concussion was because the only thing that could have caused it was me falling forward and stopping myself with my arms and it sort of jolted my body.
Avatar n tn The problem is, your symptoms are right in line with post concussion syndrome, but anxiety symptoms include almost anything. I mean, look at the posts here, we get all kinds of weird physical and mental stuff. But yours started after a fall and a doctor saying you had a concussion. You need to advocate for yourself in a stronger way and eliminate any physiological explanation before attributing this to anxiety.
868804 tn?1239583770 (I tried to play yesterday, it was about 10 degrees Celsius.) The symptoms subside not long after stopping. I feel now i cant pin these symptoms on post concussion syndrome, because it has been so long since i hit my head. Most family i talk to tell me im just out of shape, etc etc. I really dont think so though. Im not one to ***** and complain about things like this and normally just play through it, hoping it will go away with more exercise. It doesn't though.
Avatar n tn Most people recover completely, particularly if postconcussion syndrome symptoms do not develop. Postconcussion syndrome symptoms are common during the week after brain injury. They often resolve during the second week. However, sometimes symptoms persist for months or, rarely, years. Your friend should consult a neurologist and undergo a MRI to see the effects of head injury. There could be inflammation of the brain tissue causing headache and nausea.
Avatar f tn ever since then i am having big pain on my temples on my forehead, and constant headaches daily. and recently on my left temple, the side i fell on, is hot to the touch, and really hurts. i have tried so many different medicines any adivce?
Avatar f tn Full recovery is expected from an uncomplicated concussion. But symptoms such as prolonged dizziness, memory loss, decreased mental functioning, irritability, and headaches may occur. If cold compress or over-the-counter pain medications do not help, have this checked by your doctor for proper management. Take care and best regards.
Avatar f tn I diagnosed concussion because I had pretty much all the symptoms of one. And I didn't go to the hospital for two reasons 1) I didn't feel like trusting my driving skills after that 2) I did a typical test for "serious" head trama (watching what your eyes do, how long you can focus on things ext) so I knew it wasn't "serious" so I didn't think to go. I know thats bad but what can I say.
428506 tn?1296557399 There is a health page about heat sensitivity. I was wondering if others have symptoms made worse by the cold? While both hot and cold bother me (no dx), different symptoms are aggrevated by the two temperature extremes. Can anyone with temperature senstivity reply and let me know if it's hot, cold, or both that give you problems, and if you have a dx? I'm just curious, and always keeping my radar up for clues about what's going on with me ;-). Thanks!
1602878 tn?1304336016 I am also implanted with a spinal cord stimulator . Now the Doctor says I have a concussion . My neurological symptoms are getting much worse. Ringing ears, sensitive to light, nauseous , thinking causes worse headaches, hot and cold sweats, fingers go numb. My question is how long will I need to stay down and quiet? They say to have total rest both mentally and physically. I shouldn't be writing now but need some input. The answer I am getting is until the symptoms go away and stay away!
Avatar n tn Traumatic Brain Injuries and or Seizures can cause similar-same types of neurological damage associated with neurological conditions like MS, even concussion can cause brain damage to present later in life but in MS, the symptoms and clear signs of neurological damage are caused by brain and or spinal cord lesions.
Avatar m tn Any other symptoms you can think of? The syncope is just from him being hot from the bath and getting up into cold air makes the blood pressure drop too fast and he fainted. I wouldn't have him take a hot bath until his fever is gone. You should never take a hot bath with a fever it will make the fever go up and you can get brain damage if the fever gets too high. It is contrary to some of the old ways of thinking. Now they don't even want you to use ice.
Avatar m tn ve become very temperature sensitive in the past month, along with the extreme bout of tiredness and fatigue throughout the day. I get extremely hot very quickly, and I get extremely cold very quickly during moments where it really isn't that hot or cold. My black outs are lasting a few seconds longer, and are also becoming heavily more frequent. I've gone see my general care doctor, a neurologist, and a cardiologist.
362249 tn?1441315018 Ok I started the footies thing now time to spill it! Who's the hot & cold natured one between you and DH or S/O? There always seem to be one of each in every relationship! Me i am so cold natured and DH sweats endlessly at any bit of heat just in car! God I wish i hate being cold natured and taking a jacket everywhere it bites especially in TX!! Avatar f tn Friday morning, I was getting ready to take a shower. Due to my clumsy nature, I ran into the door frame on the left side (my left) of my head. It hurt for a few seconds, but afterward, I was fine and jumped into the shower. I didn't pass out, I wasn't dizzy, no nausea, etc. I've looked up symptoms of concussions quite a few times as I am a big worrier, and the only one I'm really experiencing is a headache, although it isn't severe.
Avatar n tn Your symptoms could be due to migraine or PCS ( post concussion syndrome ) because of the concussion that you had years ago. Please go for an MRI brain to know the exact cause and consult a neurologist for treatment as a delay could be dangerous. There are chances of getting a stroke. Hope this helps you. Take care and regards !
Avatar f tn re supposed to take it easy after a concussion and orgasm raises your BP and all. Most of my symptoms of the concussion have gone away, aside from double vision. Thoughts?
Avatar n tn its your cromazones and it is best just to sweat a cold out .a very hot curry is gud and a hot totty whisky in tea .
Avatar m tn A concussion can last for weeks after the head injury. The symptoms too vary from person to person. Headache, confusion, memory loss, dizziness, nausea vomiting, slurred speech and fatigue are common. Delayed symptoms include depression, irritability, sleep disturbances, seizures, loss of smell etc. A doctor generally looks for focal neurological or generalized neurological symptoms that would show there is a pressure on brain somewhere.
Avatar f tn Basically nothing but Tylenol. Hot tea with lemon and honey. Netipot and a vaporizer. I would slather on the vicks.
Avatar m tn I have been going through the same thing for the past year. I had a concussion and then was diagnosed with post-concussion syndrome but then from being in my house so much to rest, with major allergies to things in my house I developed pansinusitis. Nothing seemed to be getting better. Brain fog, memory issues, pressure, and everything getting worse after heavy lifting or exercise.
19712445 tn?1483079621 On Monday at about 2:30am I got frustrated and hit my head (front, forehead area) with my hand about 3 times pretty hard. Afterwards I noticed some head pain, I went to sleep and then woke up at about 3pm with the same head pain and freaked out (I'm an extreme hypochondriac so I freak out very easily) so I went to the ER, they ended up giving me a CT scan which indicated that everything was fine. The doctor told me to come back if I notice worsening head pain or dizziness.
Avatar n tn I played football and got sat on the head and the trainer said that I do not have a concussion. The next day I had a headache but medicine made it go away. I was fine for the next three days but after a soccer game I couldn't sleep was hot/cold (changed throughout the night) sweating and woke up with a huge headache in the middle of the night. For the past two days since that night I get odd headaches and get chills.
