Avatar f tn I am not familiar with the PCS or how long it should last....but r u sure the symptoms u r having rn't being caused by something else..as a result of the accident??I have chiari and am aware of aquired chiari...which can be attributed to an accident to trauma to the head or neck.....did u have MRI's of the head and neck?...check out the chiari forum...also try the ASAP web siste or the chiari institute....there is plenty of info at either site.

A history of head trauma requires further evaluation for any recurrent headaches or any neurologic symptoms for that matter. When she hit her head, did she lose consciousness? Were there any behavioural changes after the trauma eg memory loss, irritability, poor performance in class?
Avatar n tn had an mri of the brain for head trauma/concussion/headaches and poor concentration. tempal area was hit and loss of conscience occured. mri of brain show results as fluid noted within several posterior mastoid aircells. i have never had any ear issues or sinus problems.

The American Academy of Neurology scale is graded on a scale of 1 to 3, where grade 3 has any loss of consciousness. Grade 2 is with any symptoms lasting more than 15 minutes. Avatar f tn Ok so I have had close to the whole chart in symptoms of a concussion 7 months post impact. I was recovering at a fairly normal pace until about 3/4 weeks into recovery when pain worse than when I had the initial headache from trauma. Keep in mind at that point I was a healthy 15 year old boy that was extremely active. Well anyway the pain that had returned from nowhere was increasing gradually for about one and a half months until the pain was so intense I had to go to the ER at 1am.
Avatar f tn Hello Dear, You should consult a neurophysician and get neurological evaluaton like MRI done to rule out any pathological changes causing the incordination due to the concussion.Post concussion symptoms do occur but they are temporary.Stress does not cause such bumps.There seems to be some trauma causing your symptoms.

There is vomiting which could mean collection of blood intracranially, possible subdural hematoma leading to raised intracranial pressure necessitating emergency intervention. I suggest that you do not lose time and head for the emergency room.

It took them 7 years to diagnose her but told her that it was brought on by the trauma of the accident. Infections can also trigger MS. It is just so different is everyone but to answer your question, yes, it can be brought on from the accident.
