I diagnosed concussion because I had pretty much all the symptoms of one. And I didn't go to the hospital for two reasons 1) I didn't feel like trusting my driving skills after that 2) I did a typical test for "serious" head trama (watching what your eyes do, how long you can focus on things ext) so I knew it wasn't "serious" so I didn't think to go. I know thats bad but what can I say.
I have a pretty good knot on my head still and know I had a concussion (dizziness, fatigue, nausea/vomiting and headache). Well.. today my head still hurts, but I am noticing pain in my ear as well still. That began last night. Since I do not have insurance, I am wondering if I should be concerned and seek treatment. Please advise!
When my husband was discharged from the ER they gave him a paper explaining about head concussion. So we assumed he had a head concussion. He did o.k. for two days and then started being confused and disoriented again. For the most part he seems fine, but today he had another episode of confussion/disorientation and dizziness. Are this symptoms normal? Thanks for any response.
re supposed to take it easy after a concussion and orgasm raises your BP and all. Most of my symptoms of the concussion have gone away, aside from double vision. Thoughts?
If your symptoms have recently worsened a lot, sometimes this can happen if a person who has a concussion already, then they somehow bang their head again and then symptoms can worsen. I hope your symptoms are not related to hitting your head, rather perhaps you've got something else less serious wrong, but it just seems to me if you've had headaches ever since your fall, and plus you feel sleepy a lot, a doc has got to check you out!

Headache, confusion, memory loss, dizziness, nausea vomiting, slurred speech and fatigue are common. Delayed symptoms include depression, irritability, sleep disturbances, seizures, loss of smell etc. A doctor generally looks for focal neurological or generalized neurological symptoms that would show there is a pressure on brain somewhere.
I also hit the back of my head and had a severe concussion and brain contusion (bruising of brain) 1 year 10 months ago and still suffering with 24/7 dizziness, stuffy head, ringing in ears etc., When it comes to Post concussion syndrome it is really a collections of many many symptoms and confusing. You are only 3 weeks away so it may be too early to call it and most people recover within few weeks or months. I am the unlucky one.
My son is healing from post concussion syndrome from multiple concussions. It's been a year since his last concussion and he is making slow progress, but progress. Still has mood swings, ADD, and sleeplessness, but has made nice gains. He went on a flight to Scottland to visit a friend and seemed fine while in Scottland, but seemed to have regressed in symptoms when he returned home.
Im thinking of any hormonological problem,or maybe an oldest injury in the back of my head(15 y ago) with concussion and speech-words disorder for the first time.Do you think of anything?Any suggestions?Thank you all.
I would rather have my MRI read in Cleveland. I wonder how long a person can have concussion symptoms. If the symptoms should have disappeared by now, I have to wonder if it is the Chiari that is worse bc of the hard hit on the head.
Again it is too early to say it is Post Concussion Syndrome. I am suffering from Post Concussion Syndrome and it is worse. Give some time to heal before you start any activities and you will be fine. Doctors didn't tell me to take rest and I returned to activities soon and on disability now.

About two months ago I suffered an injury to my left eye and the fore head area of my head. Two weeks later the ER Doctor told me I have post concussion syndrome, the CT scan was normal, however I still feel dizzy,lazy,depressed, my ears ring non stop and after I eat I feel like passing out. My primary care doctor said to give it about 90 days to a year. Can you tell me how much more should I wait before I see a neurologist.

Yesterday I suffered mild blow to the head. I have hit my head many times before, much harder than yesterday and yet, I've never experienced any symptoms that might be indicative of concussion. Yesterday, however, I felt a bit dizzy for a few minutes immediately after having been hit. Also, 15 minutes following the blow, I started to feel a bit nauseated.
If the head injury is serious there can be a tinkling sensation due to a head and neck injury...symptoms of a concussion can be subtle and may not be immediately apparent. Symptoms and that includes a headache can last for days, weeks or even longer.
You may want to see a doctor depending on the severity of a blow to the head that can cause a blood clot.
my son had similar head jerking after concussion 2 years ago. He also had another concussion recently w/ constant head pain. We tried chiro,PT(exercise+stretching), meds and he got worse. missed 1xmonth of school. I found a PT who combines cranial-sacral/soft tissue and other standard PT regimens(she had training for concussion injuries) and he improved w/ each visit.
I hit my head on the ice about 12 hours ago. ER said concussion. I have not had any of the symptoms the ER said I should return for but where the lump was there is now a soft spot. Should I return?
How are you feeling now? Have you seen a doctor about this? It almost sounds like you may have gotten a concussion besides injuring your shoulder. Because of the headaches, difficultly with memory, trouble concentrating, nausea, feeling "fuzzy," sleep changes, visual changes, I suggest you get checked out by a doctor, preferably a neurologist if you can...otherwise your PCP.
symptoms of a concussion can last days, weeks or longer....you never know. and these symptoms you are experiencing now could go away and you could end up with diff symptoms some time after. Im not a doctor but am speaking through experience. what meds did they prescribe you?

Loss of consciousness isn’t required for a diagnosis of concussion or post concussion syndrome. Post concussion syndrome occurs within first 7 to 10 days and until 3 months. Symptoms are variable including dizziness, fatigue, irritability, anxiety, insomnia, loss of concentration and memory, light and noise sensitivity, headache varying from a tension type to cluster headaches. You need to consult a neurologist immediately.
