Common Questions and Answers about Concussion symptoms getting worse

concussion

Avatar f tn yeh all I know is the symptoms I have been having with the Chiari are much worse but worse on the left side (strange - cuz that is where I hit my head) although I know the symptoms on top of my chiari symptoms are from the concussion. I just hope it didn't make the herniation or anything related to it worse. I can't get in sooner to the specialist. The soonest I can (to coordinate my appts together) is on the 27th, so a few weeks away.
Avatar m tn My partners fever went away within 24 hours, but the next day she got an extremly sore throat, nasty cough, and canker sores on her tongue. these symptoms seem to be getting worse. would a subsided fever and onset of other symptoms be consistant with the ARS?
Avatar n tn https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/post-concussion-syndrome/symptoms-causes/syc-20353352 Make sure to tell the doctor about all of the workouts you're doing, to make sure you're not perpetuating the problem by doing a specific exercise. Hope you start to improve!
Avatar m tn Symptoms such as changes in speech, seizure, vomiting, double vision or blurred vision, fever and headache that is getting worse, lasts a long time, or does not get better with over-the-counter pain relievers may warrant immediate follow-up with your doctor. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn I ended up getting an MRI which came back normal and was told that I had post concussive syndrome. My nausea got worse and worse and I ended up seeing a GI and getting an endoscopy and checking my gall bladder. Both were ok. At one point I went to the ER with chest pains, and they said it was acid reflux (although later another doctor told me it was more likely a pulled muscle).
Avatar n tn I have syptoms which are all getting worse and I was told that the surgery has a good chance that it will stop me from getting worse.
Avatar f tn G'day. I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right area-don't know where else to put it. I've had a concussion for about 9 days now with "usual, mild-average" symptoms. The last couple days have been like the first couple days, cannot rest my head at night from the pain, taking two 650 mg Tylenols when I think of it, also seem more confused & forgetful (before major loss of sleep). The last 48 hrs. I've slept for 40 min's.
Avatar f tn I was wondering if there is another condition that had similar symptoms to post concussion syndrome. I have all of the most commonCommon coldsymptoms such as fatigue, nausea, migrains, mood swings, difficulty concentrating and remembering, but I also loss blocks of time, I pass out, and often experience some numbnessNumbness and tinglingon one side of my body. Could I have something other than Post Concussion Syndrome, and if so what?
Avatar f tn I'm sorry to hear about your worsening symptoms ... if you can hold out, for the sake of school, you MIGHT find that the severity of your symptoms cycles. I know mine did for years (before I was diagnosed) .... definitely get in to see your doctor and discuss it with him. Was this the only doctor you've seen? a second opinion might also be in order. I hope you get some relief.
Avatar f tn Since this is a concussion injury which is a brain injury causes by a sudden blow to the head or to the body. Symptoms of a concussion include memory loss, headaches or blurry vision, nausea, inability to stand or walk or having coordination and balance problems. There is an entity of post concussive syndrome where there is inability to think and headaches, changes in sleep patterns and personality etc. This needs to be evaluated clinically, CT/MRI scan brain needs to be done to rule out.
Avatar n tn Your symptoms could be due to migraine or PCS ( post concussion syndrome ) because of the concussion that you had years ago. Please go for an MRI brain to know the exact cause and consult a neurologist for treatment as a delay could be dangerous. There are chances of getting a stroke. Hope this helps you. Take care and regards !

Avatar f tn you are probably right about its more my anxiety than the paxil and I am probably making it worse...but if the paxil does work will it take away all these sensations I am getting from the anxiety....my dizziness, nausea, blurry vision and headaches....I have had these for 5 years now daily and I mean daily....if it isnt going to take all these feelings away whats the use of taking it...Just hope these feeling will go away....I am afraid my mind will take over more than the medication....
Avatar m tn For the past seven or so months, I have felt about the same, but the last two days have been something else. It feels as if I am getting worse rather then any better I am on xanax .5mg and lexapro 20mg please help.
Avatar f tn I have suffered from headache, fatigue, short term memory loss, personality changes, angry outbursts, difficulty in social situations, dizziness, loss of balance, occasional blurred vision, tinnitus, etc. Lately, over the past few weeks, I have noticed that these symptoms seem to be getting worse. Is it normal for symptoms to worsen so long after the injury? Is there anything I can do to help reverse the trend?
Avatar f tn Then I had a Cat Scan and was diagnosed with Post Concussion Syndrome. Could starting weight training so soon made matters worse? No one told me to go home home and rest.
Avatar n tn The problem is, your symptoms are right in line with post concussion syndrome, but anxiety symptoms include almost anything. I mean, look at the posts here, we get all kinds of weird physical and mental stuff. But yours started after a fall and a doctor saying you had a concussion. You need to advocate for yourself in a stronger way and eliminate any physiological explanation before attributing this to anxiety.
Avatar f tn my symptoms are not getting better, meaning my speech, gait, dizziness ect. Memory is bad, and getting worse. I heard you can recover from post concussion syndrome and as time goes by you get better, but I keep getting worse. I dont even want to go out of the house anymore, I used to be a social butterfly. I hope you can at least lead me in some direction.
Avatar m tn I've been dealing with constipation on and off for a few years, but it seems to be getting worse. I can not seem to have a B.M without taking some sort of Lax. Without taking them I don't even have the urge to go, I have changed my diet around, I drink less coffee now, I am drinking more water and exercising more. All things my G.I doctor had suggested, but still not helping. I haven't been to a doctor since I moved..
Avatar m tn t seem to actually fall asleep. Severe memory loss which is rapidly getting worse, my speech has become slurred, I suffer from random dizzy spells and nausea. Poor impulse control (ie. unable to make decisions, often choosing to do the wrong thing even though I feel its the wrong thing) and my hands, feet and joints are icy cold while the rest of my body is warm. I have visited several doctors and none so far have been able to help.
Avatar f tn I diagnosed concussion because I had pretty much all the symptoms of one. And I didn't go to the hospital for two reasons 1) I didn't feel like trusting my driving skills after that 2) I did a typical test for "serious" head trama (watching what your eyes do, how long you can focus on things ext) so I knew it wasn't "serious" so I didn't think to go. I know thats bad but what can I say.
