Avatar f tn Loss of consciousness isn’t required for a diagnosis of concussion or post concussion syndrome. Post concussion syndrome occurs within first 7 to 10 days and until 3 months. Symptoms are variable including dizziness, fatigue, irritability, anxiety, insomnia, loss of concentration and memory, light and noise sensitivity, headache varying from a tension type to cluster headaches. You need to consult a neurologist immediately.
Avatar m tn It is possible to have post-concussion syndrome for months and even years after the incident. This condition is a complex disorder in which a combination of post-concussion symptoms like headaches, tinnitus and dizziness are experienced. There are no specific treatment for post-concussion syndrome but treatment for the individual symptoms you experience is made by your doctor. Regular follow-up with your doctor is highly recommended. Take care and regards.

Avatar n tn Hello, Thank you for your question. After concussion or impact such kind of symptoms like loss of smell or taste and other symptoms may be common due to extent of damaged part of brain and may remain symptomatic or progress in future. Although any sure success cure can not be assured in such cases, but symptomatic relief or it may decrease with period of time, physiotherapy, avoiding any triggering factors and life style modification help you in certain extent.
Avatar m tn If you develop nausea, vomiting, excess sleep, severe headache, difficulty in walking and balance, tremors, seizures, vision problems, ringing in ears etc then consult a doctor immediately. These symptoms develop if there is a brain injury or bleed. Otherwise this pressure will go in a few days. However, it is important to get a medical evaluation. So please consult your doctor once. Take care!
Avatar f tn Anyone please!!
Avatar n tn I had all your symptoms and later on they found I had bleeding on my brain and still suffering with Post Concussion Symptoms after 2 years 2 months. Go to ER (or any doctor) asap and get evaluated.
Avatar f tn Since this is a concussion injury which is a brain injury causes by a sudden blow to the head or to the body. Symptoms of a concussion include memory loss, headaches or blurry vision, nausea, inability to stand or walk or having coordination and balance problems. There is an entity of post concussive syndrome where there is inability to think and headaches, changes in sleep patterns and personality etc. This needs to be evaluated clinically, CT/MRI scan brain needs to be done to rule out.
Avatar f tn m not seeing stars anymore but I am dizzy and sometimes nauseous. My ears start ringing at random times. Sometimes not too bad but sometimes it really bothers me. My head feels really heavy most of time too... Should I see a doctor or is it just a minor concussion that I shouldn't worry about.???
Avatar m tn It is good that your CT scan was normal. The symptoms you are experiencing are usually associated with post concussion syndrome and usually resolve after a few months. However, if it affects your daily activities and it persists, you can have this evaluated further by a neurologist for proper management and to ease your anxiety. Take care and best regards.
Avatar f tn I was wondering if there is another condition that had similar symptoms to post concussion syndrome. I have all of the most commonCommon coldsymptoms such as fatigue, nausea, migrains, mood swings, difficulty concentrating and remembering, but I also loss blocks of time, I pass out, and often experience some numbnessNumbness and tinglingon one side of my body. Could I have something other than Post Concussion Syndrome, and if so what?
Avatar f tn m sorry to hear what you have been through for the last few months. Treatment for post concussion is focused on the individual symptoms present since the severity and extent are unique to each person. While symptoms usually resolve after a several months, medications and other adjunctive therapies may also help. Prescription medications may help with headaches and associated symptoms.
19712445 tn?1483079621 On Monday at about 2:30am I got frustrated and hit my head (front, forehead area) with my hand about 3 times pretty hard. Afterwards I noticed some head pain, I went to sleep and then woke up at about 3pm with the same head pain and freaked out (I'm an extreme hypochondriac so I freak out very easily) so I went to the ER, they ended up giving me a CT scan which indicated that everything was fine. The doctor told me to come back if I notice worsening head pain or dizziness.
Avatar n tn I think you may have a concussion. Symptoms are varied and can be delayed from hours to days after the injury. 1. headache. 2. loss of consciousness. 3. dizziness 4. Ringing in ears. 5. nausea or vomiting. 6. slurred speech. 7. fatigue You have some of these symptoms. I would go back and see your doctor. Have someone else drive you in.
Avatar f tn I apologize in advance for the length, I think the background is all relevant. I had two concussions in my late teens, one with memory loss of several hours after the blow (knocked on my head playing basketall), the second with loss of memory of the accident (I was a pedestrian hit by a car). I'm not sure if I was unconscious in either case.
Avatar n tn On 3/16/10, my son (15 1/2) bent over to pick up a baseball & as he stood up & turned around was hit with an overthrown ball. He had an orbital fracture. His eye pressure after 1 1/2 months was finally down to 19 (60 was the highest) and inflammation is down. However, his pupil is still dilated, and ophthamologist feels that at this point, it is permanently blown.
Avatar n tn The problem is, your symptoms are right in line with post concussion syndrome, but anxiety symptoms include almost anything. I mean, look at the posts here, we get all kinds of weird physical and mental stuff. But yours started after a fall and a doctor saying you had a concussion. You need to advocate for yourself in a stronger way and eliminate any physiological explanation before attributing this to anxiety.
Avatar n tn Since then I have developed loud ringing in both ears, pressure in my head, fleeting dizzy spells and noise sensitivity. I also have neck pain and pain in both hands, wrists and forearms. CT and xrays night of accident were negative. This is causing moderate impairment in my daily living and I seem to get severly angry since these sx's have progressed. What is going on?
Avatar f tn I believe i have tinnitus now, constant ringing in my ears, sometimes really really loud, sometimes can’t hear, and certain noises trigger it. My head after this was really strange. I had a big knot, and constant headache. 3 days after incident i took a nap in bed and i woke up and turned my head from my right side over to my left and it felt like i could feel ice cold water inside my head moving to my left side, where my knot was from incident, and it felt as if it was coving that area.
Avatar f tn I diagnosed concussion because I had pretty much all the symptoms of one. And I didn't go to the hospital for two reasons 1) I didn't feel like trusting my driving skills after that 2) I did a typical test for "serious" head trama (watching what your eyes do, how long you can focus on things ext) so I knew it wasn't "serious" so I didn't think to go. I know thats bad but what can I say.
Avatar f tn Last year I got a concussion but I went to therapy and my eyes were misaligned but nothing like they are today. Last September I got a very bad sinus infection and went out of town for days, and noticed that I started seeing a black spot in both eyes. Those eventually turned into blind spots. Still today I get clogged ears when I wake up, headaches on my eyebrows and sometimes eye pain when I’m congested. I also have bad hyperacusis, tinnitus, and sometimes I’m dizzy.
1805240 tn?1317228731 I had fallen and gotten a concussion in July,. (hitting the front of my head and also the back of my head when I fell). I now have continious pressure in my eyes and in my nasal area. My Dr. did nto prescribe or recommend anything. Avatar f tn ve been nausous since, went to the hospital a bunch of times and was diagnosed with a concussion. They did a CT scan and everything seems normal. Same with neurological test (Where they ask you those weird questions) I'm worried that later on i'm going to have iternal bleeding randomly, or some kind of swelling that will permantly affect me. Will this go away soon by itself or do I have to worry about a random bleed or episode that could be life threatening?
Avatar f tn However, it is beneficial for everyone to know what the signs of a concussion are. There are rare cases where a single hit to the head causes cerebral hemorrhaging. That's rare though. For a mild head bang, normally, within an hour, you will feel better. If you don't, then see a doctor, go the urgent care or ER.
