1914334 tn?1322285939 Car Accident and Bad Brain Trauma Hi there and thanks so much for posting this interesting question. First I am really sorry to hear this incident. According to your report it really looks you were lucky and did not have any more serious and life threatening consequence. Closed brain injury from car accident incidents results in damage to the head, skull, brain, or scalp, but normally does not penetrate the skull.
Avatar f tn Hello. Several days ago I was in a car accident. I was knocked unconscious after hitting the windshield, and suffered several lacerations on my face, which bled quite a bit and required stitches to close. My buddy was the driver, and was injured a lot less than I was. He suffered a few cuts and scrapes and was not bleeding badly, he didn't require any stitches. Now here's my question: am I at risk for HIV exposure?
Avatar m tn Hi my name is kayla and i was in a car accident a couple days ago and since yesterday i keep getting a fever is it normal to get a fever after a car accident?
435918 tn?1204737341 I suffer muscles that get as stiff as metal rods and are very painful. This happened after a concussion with symptoms so strong there were times I could barely walk, along with a host of other symptoms, for weeks after the accident. Then followed the 'metal' muscles. There are a number of very rational reasons to suggest maladaptive synaptogenesis because of focal axon injury, and all i want is to get an mri or dti test and an expert to look at it.
Avatar f tn can you get sleep apnea from being in a car accident...I have whiplash and a concussion and PTSD..now I'm being checked for sleep apnea..
Avatar m tn Had a car accident got rear ended went to the doctor and was treated for muscle spasm took pain medication maybe 2 weeks after the accident went for a light exercise at the gym after 20 min into my routine with light weights I don't if it was the adrenaline I felt the strongest headache could not concentrate I felt a little tingling feeling in my fingers at that point I could not even think and felt my eyes were very heavy went to the emergency room got a ct scan and a very heavy medicine
Avatar f tn I have to agree with geminigirl...if you are feeling unwell still after 4 days you really need to see a doctor. I made that mistake. I was in a car accident and I was not wearing my seat belt and my airbag delayed when it came out and I hit more steering wheel than airbag after I hit the steering wheel then the airbag came out and whipped my head back.
471949 tn?1236904026 I was in a car accident about a month ago and had a mild concussion along with injury to my C2-C5. I've had horrible headaches every since the accident. Just yesterday it was so bad that I actually blacked out (hit the floor). I'm dizzy quite often, have ringing in my ears also. I'm being treated by a chiropractor for my neck injury. Any thoughts?
Avatar f tn Well I was in a car accident, broke my hand in 3 places and had a concussion.(not my fault, some drunk, ironic I suppose) I don't really remember much, I hit my head pretty hard, I'm ok, everythings gonna be fine but.......I'm positive some one gave me opiates at the hospital(I think just once or twice) because I woke up in my room and I could "feel it" all the addicts no what I mean.
Avatar n tn I also have the same problems as you after a car accident. Our symptoms are extremely similar. I am wondering if you were able to find an answer or a way to manage the eye symptoms. I have been suffering with this problem for 2 years now and would love any feedback. Thank You.
Avatar m tn I was involve in a very bad car accident 02/10 and have no memory of the actual wreck. the hospital deemed I have a severe concussion and then also diagnosed me with Post Concussion Syndrome. I am currently also experiencing back and neck problems as well as getting a collarbone checked out for a possible fracture. My question is does coffee effect concussion and PCS recovery. And how long does recovery generally take.
Avatar f tn I had a car accident five months ago in which i received several injuries including a concussion which caused my right pupil to become musch smaller than my left, immedietly after the accident I complained of pain and visual disturbance and my eye was watering almost constantly for a few weeks. I saw an ophthalmologist seven weeks after my accident who said that I had scarring on my retina that she believed to be old and not related to the accident she said the pain was probably neurological.
Avatar f tn I was in a car accident 7 months ago, and it was pretty bad. I ran my car head on into a tree and I got pretty banged up. I went to the doctors the following day, and sure enough, I had a pretty severe concussion. I've had concussions before, the worst caused me to miss 4 months of schooling, that was roughly 5 years ago. Now, I get nauseous at random times. Most of the time when I ride in a vehicle or drive anywhere (not all of the time though), and when I lay down to go to bed.
Avatar f tn I just had my thyroid removed 7 mnths ago, just got threw withRadioactive Iodine treatments, but i also had a car accident about 3 mnths ago,now in the last mnth i noticed i have a few soft spots on the back of my head,i feel nausea, fatigue, pressure, like i,m full of fluid, headaches, eye pain all the time,i wonder if its due to my thyroid treatment,or the car accident, either way what should i do,my thyroid doctor looked at it,and said it will go away, but i feel worst.
Avatar f tn My doctor doesn't seem to think my health is her problem so I'm going to turn to you guys & get your opinion. I was in a car accident where I hit someone head on (their fault, don't judge!) going about 30-40mph on June 1st. I didn't hit my head but somehow got a nasty concussion (my second one). Recovery was rough but I finally felt okay enough to work again (about 2 mos. later). Soon, my symptoms started to come back, one of which was even worse than before: my dizziness.
Avatar f tn I was in a car accident 2 days ago. We were rear ended and i was jerked forward. I had my seat belt on and i was close to or possibly hit the dashboard. My problem is that i cannot remember if i did or not. However, my head has been hurting and its very intense especially with sound and light. My nose is also bruised and is numb. I cannot remember the accident that clearly. Is it possible that i may have a concussion?
Avatar n tn They now say that the person can sleep after a concussion. The reasons for not letting them sleep before was incase the person slips into a coma - when they are awake at least they can monitor the person. Try making a deal with him - if he gets checked out by a doctor - you will let him sleep.
Avatar m tn I was in a bad car accident a month ago . I had a concussion and get dizzy and headache all night long exspecially when I turn side to side. because I can"t get comfortable because I hurt my right shoulder and broke my wrist too. looking for any suggestion . I'm still going to my neuro , ortho also my family doctor . this is very depressing .
Avatar f tn A month ago I was in a bad car accident. My car flipped and I hit my head going unconscious. So obviously I had a concussion. I'm healing and have been trying to decide which exercise would be the best? I've belonged to a gym since Oct. but am just concerned to start exercising again. My dr says I need to treat myself as if I have a concussion for at least a year, or while symptoms last. I get headaches, dizziness, sometimes very mild forgetfulness.
Avatar m tn She said that it is possible that I might have a mild concussion. I also had a pretty decent size knot on the side of my head that went away after about a week. 3 weeks later and I am still getting these headaches. On a scale from 1 to 10 I would say the pain has not surpassed a 3. A lot of times it only lasts maybe 5 minutes (sometimes less) then goes away; other times it last hours. However, I receive them multiple times per day.
Avatar n tn Generally, such symptoms may result due to post-concussion syndrome and may last for weeks or months after the injury that caused from the injury of a fall, vehicle accident, or sports injury. For treatment approach, first it is essential to get (MRI) done to detect the brain or spinal abnormalities after that injury. Treatment commonly may be suggested for symptoms such as pain-killers, some antidepressants, physical therapy and regular exercises.
