Avatar f tn t masturbate, but I have had, sex during concussion recovery and my symptoms always increase afterward, even if the sex is not strenuous. It is the movement of the head that cause such, so due to my head injury history and experience, any movements that affect movement of the head can have a negative affect on concussion symptoms and recovery.
Avatar f tn Has your doctor tested to see if a rise in blood pressure aggravates or causes the return of your concussion symptoms. Your recovery time generally depends upon this assessment. A recent study conducted by the University of Buffalo’s Concussion Management Clinic suggests that cardio vascular exercise performed on a equipment that does not involve a lot of impact or bouncing such as a stationary bike, elliptical or treadmill can speed the recovery process. One of the lead researchers Dr.
Avatar m tn Thank you for your help, I don't really have a small area to keep her in so I have her in my bedroom. I have a hard time keeping the other cat away from her but the other kitten actually helps her out it guided her to the food and water and when it lays down she comes over and comferts her as she falls asleep. She's starting to walk better now though her one leg is still slow to respond so she hobbles a bit.
Avatar m tn My 10 week old kitten has suffered a concussion recently (ran into a door pretty hard). We took him to the vet and they gave him a steroid shot for possible brain swelling. The vet told us he needs a few days rest. But i'm concerned as he just lays in one spot all day, doesn't really respond to his usual toys. Pupils are even on both sides, he responds to movement, but no desire to act on it. He drinks water, but he wont eat unless we force him and is becoming noticeably skinnier.
Avatar f tn Though Asperger’s by it self will not prolong concussion, the diagnosis of concussion in Asperger’s is often overlooked and some other cause or the disease itself attributed to as a cause of symptoms post injury. Hence it is important to consult a neuro-psychiatrist. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar m tn My concussion occurred 37 days ago when I slipped and fell backwards hitting the back of my head on a turf surface. In terms of the concussion recovery, I've been working with a concussion therapist to employ the practices of slowly getting back into activities without provoking symptoms. Unfortunately, I haven't seen much progress and may even have my symptoms come on earlier. I believe that this is related to sleep and neck issues that began about 18-20 days into the recovery.
Avatar f tn Ok so I have had close to the whole chart in symptoms of a concussion 7 months post impact. I was recovering at a fairly normal pace until about 3/4 weeks into recovery when pain worse than when I had the initial headache from trauma. Keep in mind at that point I was a healthy 15 year old boy that was extremely active. Well anyway the pain that had returned from nowhere was increasing gradually for about one and a half months until the pain was so intense I had to go to the ER at 1am.
Avatar f tn Full recovery is expected from an uncomplicated concussion. But symptoms such as prolonged dizziness, memory loss, decreased mental functioning, irritability, and headaches may occur. If cold compress or over-the-counter pain medications do not help, have this checked by your doctor for proper management. Take care and best regards.

1602878 tn?1304336016 I am also implanted with a spinal cord stimulator . Now the Doctor says I have a concussion . My neurological symptoms are getting much worse. Ringing ears, sensitive to light, nauseous , thinking causes worse headaches, hot and cold sweats, fingers go numb. My question is how long will I need to stay down and quiet? They say to have total rest both mentally and physically. I shouldn't be writing now but need some input. The answer I am getting is until the symptoms go away and stay away!
779793 tn?1235856226 Cross post from Expert Vet: My GF's toy Yorkie was spooked and fell off my dining room table this morning at 10:30AM where he landed on flat his right side. She brought him to me as he was unresponsive, not breathing and had a very slow/or no heart rate. I was able to revive him and we rushed him to the vet where he started to gain some coherence, but still lacked coordination and was unable to sit or stand.
Avatar m tn Becker, you must give this kitty something by mouth....use a dropper and very wet food. baby food thats 100% meat with no additives can well be used, as long as she gets something into her today!!! than tomorrow contact her Vet for direction, she may well need IV fluids. Post again if we can answer anymore questions. http://healthypets.mercola.com/sites/healthypets/archive/2011/12/13/feline-hepatic-lipidosis.
Avatar m tn As it seemed to be doing alright, I brought it home. I have now been almost force feeding it for a while. (putting food into the beak, then it eats on it's own) I wonder, because the speed of the car must have been quite low when it got hit; if there is a chance that it might be suffering from internal bleeding or a concussion. I haven't seen it eat voluntarily and it seems to be sleeping proportionally a lot for being a bird.
Avatar n tn sounds like you need to go to the dr. asap. you may have a concussion as well as other problems. an mri at the very least should give you more information. good luck and i hope you will keep us posted!
Avatar f tn It sounds like you suffered a concussion. I would not run to the hospital right away since it has been a few days but I would go see your family doctor just to get checked out. I know the balls you are talking about and I would not like to get hit in the head by one. In the meantime lay low and do not do anything strenuous, use in ice pack and some type of pain reliever for your head. You could feel this way for awhile so since you did hurt your head.
Avatar m tn I sustained a minor concussion three weeks ago, and though my logical and linguistic faculties seemed to return to normal within a couple days, I have had persistent feelings of pressure and weakness in my head, though these have markedly diminished within the past week. At present, I have recovered enough that I am able to use the computer (with the monitor at low brightness) for simple tasks like reading and writing emails.
Avatar f tn I feel really out of sorts and depressed -the thought of not being able to taste food again is horrific. I love food its just not the same eating and only being able to feel the texture in your mouth. I keep imagining what it did taste like before but its just not the same. I just want to turn back the clock as I was fine till I fell downstairs.
251315 tn?1198196557 i Went to a neurologist and he dignosed me with Post concussion syndrom. i hit my head pretty good, 1 the whip lash (i cant remember if i hit it on anything in my car) but as i was exiting to see what he did i smacked it on the metal bar getting out and then when the paramedic arrived i was laying in my car as they got me out the car he was holding my neck up right and i smacked it again on the metal bar getting out the car again.
Avatar n tn About 6 months ago I got a concussion after fainting and hitting my head. They did a CT that came back ok. Over the next few weeks I experienced major nausea and a sensation of weakness. I had other symptoms like trouble focusing and reading and light sensitivity, but those went away after about a month. I ended up getting an MRI which came back normal and was told that I had post concussive syndrome.
Avatar n tn In 2005 I got a concussion and shortly after I broke my nose. Ever since than I am always gettin sick. Some doctors thinks its my allergies but its all the time. Its not really runny nose or anything like that its mainly feeling really sick like Im going to puke and kind of dizzy like Im going to faint. Kind of like how you feel when your really hungry. Its hard to explain its just an ugh feeling. Also every time I eat something my stomach hurts and I have to go to the bathroom.
Avatar n tn Anyway this happened on Feb 18th and the recovery has been very slow. Her doc put her on amitriptline and it seamed to take away the headaches. She finally went 15 days symptom free just to have a very big headache causing her to have an eye twitch on 3/18. She said the pain was an 8 on a scale from 1 - 10 and it was at the temple. The headache eventually went away but the twitch is still there. She had a CT scan on the 6th and it came out normal.
Avatar f tn s driving me mad and I am losing weight as food is just not the same anymore.
