my name is katie im 20 years old i played soccer for 16 years since i was little , over the past years i had 6 concussion , after those concussion i had MRI done apperetnly they didnt find anything and everything , all testing were normal ,, but theres a cluster of granuloma on the left pretrous apex. my brain is otherwise normal.

Right, I know the pressure buildup wasn't CTE, but rather the concussion symptom. My worry is that I will develop alzheimer, dementia, or a level of CTE earlier than those who did not play a sport like American football. I respectfully disagree that playing high school football will not increase your chances of incurring brain damage.

age, family history, visual fields, corneal thickness, stereo optic nerve photos, gonioscopy, NFL OCT are the most important.
A complete medical history and neurologic examination may help classify the headaches.Some patients with a history of concussion benefit from neurologic rehabilitation therapy.

A doctor generally looks for focal neurological or generalized neurological symptoms that would show there is a pressure on brain somewhere. In absence of these symptoms and based on the history a diagnosis of concussion is given.

my son had similar head jerking after concussion 2 years ago. He also had another concussion recently w/ constant head pain. We tried chiro,PT(exercise+stretching), meds and he got worse. missed 1xmonth of school. I am a young 70 yo female with a history of concussion 2015. Having feeling of pressure in occipital area of my head for approx. 6 months. This occurs when I lay on my back or rest my head in the recliner putting pressure in that area and often interferes with sleep. I have no history of elevated B/P or migraines. Probably you had a concussion and having Post Concussion effects. You can consult a Neuro-Otologist and Neurologist and see if you have any inner ear issues. Reason for dizziness can be very many. Get an MRI done to be safe.
I am a 59 year old woman. I have been experiencing intense tingling sensations throughout my body, heat intolerance, fatigue, dizziness, insomnia, and increased salivation. I had a fall in Jan. 2010 with a hairline fracture at C3 and concussion. I experienced a "thunderclap" headach in May 2010. I was sent to the ER. The MRI showed nothing. The LP showed only that I had a possible virus. I was also given ECG...and stress test. It is not cardiac.
After getting hit on the head, you can certainly have a concussion. There are multiple grading scales for concussion. The American Academy of Neurology scale is graded on a scale of 1 to 3, where grade 3 has any loss of consciousness. Grade 2 is with any symptoms lasting more than 15 minutes. If there is any loss of consciousness or alteration in mentation or neurological deficit, labeling the injury as traumatic brain injury would also be appropriate.
