Avatar f tn t masturbate, but I have had, sex during concussion recovery and my symptoms always increase afterward, even if the sex is not strenuous. It is the movement of the head that cause such, so due to my head injury history and experience, any movements that affect movement of the head can have a negative affect on concussion symptoms and recovery.
Avatar f tn Hello, I'm trying to figure out what happened after a series of concussions I suffered over the summer (late July). Since none of my symptoms seem to line up with anything, it would be great if you could help. Over the summer I had two concussions one day apart for each other. The first was a blow to the front of my head and I was unconscious for 3 1/2 hours. The second was a blow to the back of my head, were I was dizzy immediately afterwards (then it went away).
Avatar m tn As title suggests, I wonder if there is not a need for a forum community for long-term support. This community is great, but is skewed towards the short-term wd symptoms and getting through the initial physical pain of wd. AA &/or NA may be the best choice, but I imagine there are a great numnber of people who can not/will not go to these types of meeting for various reasons. Or even if they do, some additional support through an online community could help.

Avatar f tn Has your doctor tested to see if a rise in blood pressure aggravates or causes the return of your concussion symptoms. Your recovery time generally depends upon this assessment. A recent study conducted by the University of Buffalo’s Concussion Management Clinic suggests that cardio vascular exercise performed on a equipment that does not involve a lot of impact or bouncing such as a stationary bike, elliptical or treadmill can speed the recovery process. Avatar m tn I read in one of your post that your daughter was said to have Post-Concussion Syndrome after a head injury. I do not know how long ago that was but if you looked up what the doctor was talking about like I do when my kids health is involved. You might of seen that the syndrome can sometimes last over a year in some cases. As for epilepsy, I have it.

Avatar f tn This is going to be a long story.. Back on the 9th of June, a small Roku remote landed on my head, later on that day I was in the shower and I patted my head with the bottom of my wrist in the same area the remote landed to straighten my hair out. I did experience nausea and a few headaches and even some memory loss here and there, but I'm not totally sure if that had anything to do with the remote landing on my head or my patting my head.
1602878 tn?1304336016 The left side of my head already has damaged nerves from long term spinal fluid leaks- at least five of them. One when they hospitalized me with a drain into the cord for ten days. So that side flares easy and that is the side that is affected here the worst. Life has gotten quite medical in the last ten years. Fortunately God has given me a good sense of humor and a great family and friends.

Avatar f tn Does anyone know how long it takes for her to get back to normal. The life in her is in there somewhere, we just don't see it yet. I'm worried we may never. The Vet says to give it time. That is what I'm doing, but I've never had this happen.
Avatar n tn IM, That is great !!!! I am gald you found someone in your area ...Some use sub ,long term others use short term (less then 21 days ) There are pros and cons to each .What was you DOC how long and how much had you been taking.
1100992 tn?1262357216 How many of you have been on the same treatment for a long time? Like years? I was diagnosed a few months ago, and am finally starting to feel normal. I never knew normal. :) I'd like to stay on the meds long term, and I read on the abilify site that treatment shouldn't be longer than a year or so. What if something's working for you? Can't you just stay on it? Seems silly to me.
Avatar m tn My concussion occurred 37 days ago when I slipped and fell backwards hitting the back of my head on a turf surface. In terms of the concussion recovery, I've been working with a concussion therapist to employ the practices of slowly getting back into activities without provoking symptoms. Unfortunately, I haven't seen much progress and may even have my symptoms come on earlier. I believe that this is related to sleep and neck issues that began about 18-20 days into the recovery.
Avatar m tn Is there anyone out there who has finished TX for at least 2 years to 10 years out and has no problems with long term sides?..i dont seem to see many posts on this issue,i see a few posted by some who have long term sides...where are the non-sides people?
Avatar f tn Hi I am a 56 year old female who is also suffering from post concussion syndrome, I was involved in an car accident 2 years ago, I was stopped in my auto awaiting a turn when I was struck from behind by another auto traveling at about 60 mph. I had no outward injuries, very slight neck pain and headache. I am a emergency department nurse. I went to work and had the ED doctor check me over, I expected to be sore for a few days, then my journey began.
Avatar f tn Ok so I have had close to the whole chart in symptoms of a concussion 7 months post impact. I was recovering at a fairly normal pace until about 3/4 weeks into recovery when pain worse than when I had the initial headache from trauma. Keep in mind at that point I was a healthy 15 year old boy that was extremely active. Well anyway the pain that had returned from nowhere was increasing gradually for about one and a half months until the pain was so intense I had to go to the ER at 1am.
Avatar f tn Full recovery is expected from an uncomplicated concussion. But symptoms such as prolonged dizziness, memory loss, decreased mental functioning, irritability, and headaches may occur. If cold compress or over-the-counter pain medications do not help, have this checked by your doctor for proper management. Take care and best regards.
