concussion

Avatar n tn My head imideatly felt pain in the same spot of where I felt the pain during my concussion in rugby. Im not sure if I lost consciousness or not during one of the falls. And now I am starting the wrestling season I dont know if i should take this season off or not?
Avatar f tn It is abundantly clear that in some cases concussions may result in seizures. That is not a "theory". It is a medical fact. It doesn't require "discussion". But not all concussions result in a seizure. There can be varying degrees of damage depending on the severity off the blow, where the impact takes place, and from resultant swelling, and if there is a delay in seeking medical attention. A "concussion" is not a "concussion".

Avatar f tn I was playing rugby and someone smashed my head on the ground (I was knocked out) I don’t know how long but people around me said my eyes went to the back of my head. Plus I couldn’t remember anything past that. I woke up at school infirmary and failed the concussion test, couldn’t even distinguish a chair from a table. He most recent one I also lost consciousness, I passed test this time.
1287446 tn?1313947638 In 2005, I was attacked from behind in a bowling alley parking lot and sustained a concussion. After recently having done an MRI (for a completely different reason), I discovered there is scarring on the brain from that incident. I am a little bit spooked by this. What exactly does this mean? My neurologist said it is obviously not affecting my ability to do anything – as we do not use all of our brains.
612876 tn?1355514495 t be here right now to keep up with things. Yesterday I was diagnosed with a concussion from the syncope I had in the shower last week, which explains many of the symptoms I'm having. My doctor is hoping these symptoms will alleviate as my brain recovers over the next week or two from the injury to it. I am also awaiting some blood work, and word from my cardiologist on a dosage change on one of my meds with regards to what may have caused this downturn in the first place.
492869 tn?1285018933 It has been quite a while since I've posted a life update. It was much easier for me to remain active in the Dysautonomia Community when it first started, but has steadily become more difficult as of late. A fainting episode I experienced a little over a year ago caused a concussion that resulted in a mild seizure disorder. Though my seizure disorder is now well controlled by Zonegran, the drug itself causes mental fatigue. Approximately two weeks ago, I had another concussion.
Avatar m tn I suggest you do a search and keep abreast of developments in this area. In the meantime any further exposure to risk in the form of Rugby should be eliminated.
Avatar m tn when i have the headaches I am sensitive to light or sound, i get very shaky, and i feel sick to my stomach, I am extremely athletic...and play rugby..I have had a concussion before but it has been a long time since i have experianced one, i also took a considerable amount of time off from sports to recover from the concussion. I have been stressed lately with things going on between my boyfriend and i, and have found myself becoming waaay more emotional than usual...
Avatar n tn one week after concussion my 14 week malteese turns in circles all day what can this be.
Avatar f tn Thank you for replying. I have been off season for a while wil Rugby because we don't play in the winter, only the Fall and Spring. So I have been dealing with chest and jaw pain, and pain in the left side of my face, and arms and shoulders for a while and I wasn't playing Rugby during this time. Also, the heart beats I get are rapid and they are pounding at times. So the clenching of my jaw I don't do, and the pain in my arms aare not from Rugby either.
Avatar m tn ve racked up a fair few injurys playing rugby - Ligaments in my left ankle, Ligaments in the back of my left knee, Dislocated left shoulder, back spasms and now have mild sciatica in my left bum cheek. (which i think has something to do with my back spasm, anyways). Although i have had all these injurys it has not stopped me playing and now when i am training etc When training after a run or tackle sometimes i'll get a sharp stabbing pain in my perinium area which is excruciating.
Avatar m tn Im still hella dizzy but i got a game saturday so i will go after that
Avatar f tn Sounds like you might have a concussion. A concussion is a mild brain injury caused by a knock or blow to the head or a sudden change in motion. See a doctor just in case.
Avatar n tn When electrolytes are kept in balance it helps prevent swelling in the tissues. Thanks for your question.
Avatar n tn sounds like you need to go to the dr. asap. you may have a concussion as well as other problems. an mri at the very least should give you more information. good luck and i hope you will keep us posted!
Avatar m tn Also one of my friends suggested I think about joining a rugby team from a nearby town, which instantly resulted in me shouting in her face, which I know she didn't deserve and is highly unusual of me, thankfully she understands and has layed off, but i am upset as i have a close relationship with her and it was bad of me to do that.
Avatar m tn Thank you very much for the response and concerns. So I am doing a bit better then I was last week, saw my therapist today and it helped. Do you think it is possible this latest hit was simply a setback and not damaging to my brain?
Avatar f tn Probably a Concussion which is serious!!! Please, get her to her Vet ASAP....They will give medication to ease the swelling of the tissue....Don't wait any longer, she's depending on you for help....Make the call, now...She needs treatment & soon....Let us know what happens & good luck!
Avatar n tn His right side is sitting higher than his left around the breast but at the side of lhis rib there seems to be an indentation. Could he have broken something even though he was not in alot of pain. This happened about three weeks ago.

Avatar m tn In addition I had constant painful and persistent calf cramping that I never had in my life before. My strength in performingna toe raise never got to equal with my other leg despite extensive pt. Now it seems the transplant extrudes and leaves bone on bone on medial side so I appear varus aligned. Also the acl graft appeared to have stretched. I dont recall when. Its completely ruptured. My knee is very unstable.
779793 tn?1235856226 It has been 32 hours since the accident. His breathing is mostly back to normal, around 3:30 AM it just changed instantly from a shallow pant to nearly normal. He still lacks coordination, he is moving a lot more, but still cannot stand or walk. He moves his neck freely, but it bobs as if there is still neurological problems. When he gets excited his neck tightens and left front paw becomes rigid almost like a seizure, but I can bend it after a few moments of calming him.
Avatar f tn I am a concussion survivor. Could you get a concussion if your head stops suddenly from a fast movement? Yesterday I was in a hurry and running and pushed the door in front of me. It stopped abruptly which caused my body to stop too. Could this cause a concussion? I'm scared because I am recovering from a concussion already. Does it make me more prone to brain injury? Please, help me!
