Avatar n tn I have a 6 1/2 week old miniature dachshund that my 4 year old son dropped from about 3 feet onto concrete. I immediately took the puppy to the vet who said he had a concussion, but should be fine. He also gave him some anti-inflammatory medication as well as some pain medication then sent us home. I watched our puppy all through the night and he just laid there. He wouldn't eat and was pretty unresponsive. When he does stand up, he just walks in circles.
Avatar m tn On sunday the 5th may 2013 the evening I saw one of the kittens had a blood filled eye(Ginger), but it was foggy blood looked like under the surface, she was lethargic and I immediately set her in a seperate room, as it was sunday evening and the kitten did not look distressed at all I was under the assumption it was probably a scratch of some kind of an accident when playing with the other kittens, and decided if it did not look better in the morning i would take her to the vet, I applied som
Avatar n tn t walk around as much and when he does, he wobbles when standing up and or walking in a circle. I put him in front of a sunny window and his eyes went slit. It just seems that his reaction time is slowed and was wondering if their is anything else I could do myself to see if the kitten has just bumped his head and is just got a "kitty headache" or if it is a real problem, that a vet should be taking care of.. Also what would be a time frame to determine to bring him to a vet?
Avatar m tn I have often put my boobs to good use when orphans have needed warming up but in this kittens case I shall pass as she is all teeth and claws! Best wishes and I shall keep you updated with kittys progress.
1338123 tn?1275858857 Dressing our cats up in doll clothes......boy, does that ever bring back memories. We even gave them milk in a doll bottle, rocked them to sleep and strolled them around....when they didn't jump out...in a doll baby carriage. Funny...the cats/kittens usually went along with it.
Avatar n tn one week after concussion my 14 week malteese turns in circles all day what can this be.
592047 tn?1243385987 s are....... How does an infection / abscess in the mother cat affect the unborn kittens?? What sort of abnormalities can occur in the kittens?? And..... How long does it usually take for abscesses to heal?? My cat is in so much pain and is still lame in her paw, but the vet said he doesn't want to give her any painkillers because she is pregnant.
Avatar f tn It is abundantly clear that in some cases concussions may result in seizures. That is not a "theory". It is a medical fact. It doesn't require "discussion". But not all concussions result in a seizure. There can be varying degrees of damage depending on the severity off the blow, where the impact takes place, and from resultant swelling, and if there is a delay in seeking medical attention. A "concussion" is not a "concussion".
Avatar n tn Aside the fact that there are so many unwanted kittens around, spaying will go far in preventing breast cancer(very deadly in cats) in unaltered females.
Avatar m tn t really have a small area to keep her in so I have her in my bedroom. I have a hard time keeping the other cat away from her but the other kitten actually helps her out it guided her to the food and water and when it lays down she comes over and comferts her as she falls asleep. She's starting to walk better now though her one leg is still slow to respond so she hobbles a bit.
Avatar m tn so i have a 7 year old lactating persian queen and she seems to have a lot of phlegm.
Avatar f tn I am a concussion survivor. Could you get a concussion if your head stops suddenly from a fast movement? Yesterday I was in a hurry and running and pushed the door in front of me. It stopped abruptly which caused my body to stop too. Could this cause a concussion? I'm scared because I am recovering from a concussion already. Does it make me more prone to brain injury? Please, help me!
Avatar f tn Sounds like you might have a concussion. A concussion is a mild brain injury caused by a knock or blow to the head or a sudden change in motion. See a doctor just in case.
Avatar m tn This all started when I took in 2 kittens from a lady who has passed them around to a few houses trying to get a cat to nurse them. My cats did so I kept them. There were no signs because their eyes were still shut. Now that they have opened the two I took in have it the worst and online it says its from being to a lot of different homes with different bacteria. I cant loose my two momma cats or have them wind up blind PLEASE HELP I CANT AFFORD A VET!!

Avatar n tn https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/post-concussion-syndrome/symptoms-causes/syc-20353352 Make sure to tell the doctor about all of the workouts you're doing, to make sure you're not perpetuating the problem by doing a specific exercise. Hope you start to improve!
Avatar n tn One of the kittens had a hernia (from a dog attack), and the vet did surgery to fix it, and it seemed fine. The other two kittens in the litter picked on it; sucking it's genital area. It became so sore and red that it started bleeding; so I seperated it out. A day later I noticed diarrhea, then a day after that it was deficating pure blood. I figured it was an internal issue related to the trauma; so I had it put to sleep. But now, one of the other kittens is deficating blood.
Avatar n tn I have a 3 week old kitten, I think somehow its neck is broken its twisted sideways and crys and can only roll around what do I do will he recover is he in pain.
1511558 tn?1290160140 first of all we need to be very gentle with little kittens, how old is your son? children need to learn to treat a cat/kitten gently or the cat/kitten will learn to scratch, they take out their claws as their only form of defense when they feel threatened. teach your son to cuddle, stroke and talk soothingly to a kitten the same as any baby should be treated, the kitten will soon learn to relax and not scratch. best of luck to you all..and welcome to our forum.
Avatar n tn I will give you a link to a post I did earlier with the same info. you need to give these kittens wet food and mix in the required amount of an amino acid called L-lysine, this is very effective UNLESS it becomes bacterial than they would also need an antibiotic... let us know how it goes...:)) http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Cats/My-Kittens-Eye-Wont-Get-BetterNeed-Advice/show/1911041?
