Avatar m tn It is possible to have post-concussion syndrome for months and even years after the incident. This condition is a complex disorder in which a combination of post-concussion symptoms like headaches, tinnitus and dizziness are experienced. There are no specific treatment for post-concussion syndrome but treatment for the individual symptoms you experience is made by your doctor. Regular follow-up with your doctor is highly recommended. Take care and regards.
Avatar n tn My daughter is 13 she is an Ice Hockey goalie that was hit in the head with a hockey puck during her stretch before a game. She had a helmet on but no mouth piece and wasn't looking as she was talking to the other goalie. She was not knocked out just stunned. Anyway this happened on Feb 18th and the recovery has been very slow. Her doc put her on amitriptline and it seamed to take away the headaches.
Avatar n tn son had head injury 10 days ago playing hockey. today he informed me he was at emergency for having a stroke. said he had 2 today, and maybe 6 others in the past 3 days. today his left arm went num. emergency room sent him home, said he had anxiety attacks & told him to call a doctor in the morning?
Avatar n tn The other day in pe my friend was hit very hard over the head with a hockey stick. She lay unconscious on the floor for a couple of minutes and then whenever anyone tried to talk to her she just couldnt keep eye contact with them and looked very confussed. She then attempted to vomit unsuccesfully many times before fading in and out of concsiousness. Is that concussion or is it more serious??
Avatar m tn This could possibly be a factor. Have his ears checked. He could be suffering from fluid in his ears, which could cause many symptoms. Did anything happen during his trip? Did something set him off? Will he answer you honestly? I have ADD, have had several concussions over the years, and also suffer with Meniere's Disease ( inner ear thing )...I get the worst "jet lag" in the world when I even go over the mountains in a car. Any change in altitude sets me off...

Avatar f tn Hello my 11 year old son suffered a gr.2 concussion during a hockey game. He had a MRI which showed the brain was fine but after 3 months he still hasn't gone one day without getting a headache. He is itching to run around and play. Can he run, jump, ride a bike even if he is still getting headaches or should he do no physical activity even after 3 months? We're trying physio. now to see of it helps.
Avatar n tn I was hit from behind when playing ball hockey and I suffered a concussion after I went head first into the goalie. I had a cat scan done and it was normal immediately after the hit. Its been 11 months and everytime I try a light exercise for example walking around the block for about 20 minutes I get headaches. I used to swim, jog and play sports regularly and now since the accident I have gained a lot weight and don't know what to do to stay active.
Avatar f tn I went snowboarding yesterday and hit my head twice, hard and now have been having headaches, dizziness and sleepiness. I do not think I have a concussion because my pupils still dilate. I'm not sure whats going on but I need to know if it is serious or not since I play hockey and I don't want to say anything until I have had a second opinion.
Avatar f tn I`ve suffered from three concussion over the spand of a few months. The first two within week of each other and 2 months after a third. The last one was in August. Since then I have been very cautious to not hit my head but lets face it it`s nearly impossible. Kids will soft balls around and balls outside. They will flail their arms and hit your head or just nick you. Someone will bump into you and make you fall back. YOu will pull on something and it will make you jolt.
Avatar m tn 5 days ago I took a hockey puck to the back of my head. It deflected into the bench, and I ducked but it took a bounce off the glass and struck me on the rear upper left side of my head. I had blurry vision immediately but was not unconscious. I didn't think much of it at the time.
Avatar f tn Aside from headache, other symptoms noted are dizziness, lightheadedness, memory loss, nausea or vomiting, blurred vision and sensitivity to light, difficulty in concentrating or with balance. For complex concussion, symptoms may last longer than 7-10 days. Have her rest and to avoid any activities. It is also important to avoid loud, bright, busy environments. Acetaminophen or other aspirin-free medications may help with the headaches.
Avatar f tn i got hit in my head last week. i m suffering from severe headache. there's sharp pain at the back of my head. the pain towards my forehead too. what should i do?
377493 tn?1356502149 Lol...it's a good thing because most of us would have chosen the hockey game...it is playoffs after all..... Canada’s four largest political parties have agreed to change the date of their French-language debate this week to avoid a conflict with a playoff hockey game, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported. The debate, which was planned for April 14, has been rescheduled to take place a day earlier, the CBC said on its website.
Avatar f tn I did hit my head in a hockey game. After getting concussion tested they recommended an mri to look at optic nerve because of vision problems caused by the hit(which went away a week or less after the hit). I’ve never had any symptoms but they looked at the MRI and said i had compatible results with a chiari malformation.
Avatar n tn one week after concussion my 14 week malteese turns in circles all day what can this be.
Avatar f tn It is abundantly clear that in some cases concussions may result in seizures. That is not a "theory". It is a medical fact. It doesn't require "discussion". But not all concussions result in a seizure. There can be varying degrees of damage depending on the severity off the blow, where the impact takes place, and from resultant swelling, and if there is a delay in seeking medical attention. A "concussion" is not a "concussion".
Avatar f tn Funny stuff. The gym one was also good. Here's a link to some hockey related humor. http://www.youtube.com/watch?
Avatar f tn I am a concussion survivor. Could you get a concussion if your head stops suddenly from a fast movement? Yesterday I was in a hurry and running and pushed the door in front of me. It stopped abruptly which caused my body to stop too. Could this cause a concussion? I'm scared because I am recovering from a concussion already. Does it make me more prone to brain injury? Please, help me!
Avatar f tn Sounds like you might have a concussion. A concussion is a mild brain injury caused by a knock or blow to the head or a sudden change in motion. See a doctor just in case.
6520484 tn?1399082398 My fiancee is at work so I'm home watching Alone and need to tell someone about this game! The Boston Montreal game. It is crazy, I keep holding my breath and and sitting on the edge of my seat. It's going into double overtime. My heart is racing and it's making my little guy go nuts in my belly haha.
Avatar f tn I am so stoked that the Bruins won the Stanley cup last night! 39 year since our last win, first win in my lifetime!
1448936 tn?1363206346 Turns out I have fluid trapped in my middle ear due to sinus congestion. Its been causing me major pressure headaches, lightheaded feelings, and earaches. This made my anxiety start up again. I feel like my head is just a big ball of pressure and the lightheadedness keeps making me uneasy. I understand that fluid in the ear is pretty common with allergies and colds but the symptoms are making me anxious.
Avatar m tn I went to the doctors, he said it allergies. So roughly a couple months go by and I was playing in a hockey game and I got hit the wrong way, my parents thought I had a concussion so we went to doctors he said I did. Then my symptoms just kept deteriorating and getting worse. They got so bad that I missed part of my sophmore year, and all of junior year being home schooled.
Avatar n tn https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/post-concussion-syndrome/symptoms-causes/syc-20353352 Make sure to tell the doctor about all of the workouts you're doing, to make sure you're not perpetuating the problem by doing a specific exercise. Hope you start to improve!
Avatar n tn A translation of that possible diagnosis would be greatly appreciated!! FYI, she is a high level hockey player and was knocked out in a game over a year ago. She was diagnosed with a 2nd degree concussion. Last May she had an "episode" which was diagnosed as vertigo. Thank you for any assistance you can offer in the translation of those daunting words in the report. March seems such a LONG way off and as you can understand we are VERY concerned about her.
Avatar f tn Hey, been having a lot of trouble with my hands going numb recently and it's very annoying - especially when I'm In school. Does anyone have any tips on how to cope/help this?
