concussion

Avatar f tn Loss of consciousness isn’t required for a diagnosis of concussion or post concussion syndrome. Post concussion syndrome occurs within first 7 to 10 days and until 3 months. Symptoms are variable including dizziness, fatigue, irritability, anxiety, insomnia, loss of concentration and memory, light and noise sensitivity, headache varying from a tension type to cluster headaches. You need to consult a neurologist immediately.
Avatar f tn Immediately after my performance I went to the athletic trainer who performed an assessment and asked what my symptoms were. Immediately I had a headache, I saw halos around lights, and I felt like I was in a dream state. I went to a concussion specialist who performed an impact test on me and diagnosed me with a concussion. A couple weeks later I got cleared but soon after I started experiencing severe sensitivity to light and my vision seemed to worsen.
Avatar f tn My doctor doesn't seem to think my health is her problem so I'm going to turn to you guys & get your opinion. I was in a car accident where I hit someone head on (their fault, don't judge!) going about 30-40mph on June 1st. I didn't hit my head but somehow got a nasty concussion (my second one). Recovery was rough but I finally felt okay enough to work again (about 2 mos. later). Soon, my symptoms started to come back, one of which was even worse than before: my dizziness.
Avatar m tn Three days ago I ran into a light poll while I was running and blacked out for just a few minutes. I came to and my roommate tried keeping me concious, but I don't remember any of our interactions or even what had happen until they told me the next day. I have pain and bruising above my left eye and slightly under it. I'm a smoker, and two days later I noticed smoking making my stomach feel kind of unsettling and giving me a slight headache. This has never happened before.
Avatar n tn one week after concussion my 14 week malteese turns in circles all day what can this be.
Avatar f tn It is abundantly clear that in some cases concussions may result in seizures. That is not a "theory". It is a medical fact. It doesn't require "discussion". But not all concussions result in a seizure. There can be varying degrees of damage depending on the severity off the blow, where the impact takes place, and from resultant swelling, and if there is a delay in seeking medical attention. A "concussion" is not a "concussion".
Avatar m tn I have been dealing with this issue, being in a daze, forgetting things since I was about 14 and got a concussion. You kids hang in there, you will learn to somewhat manage this as you grow older, it does not get better, but you learn how to adapt to it, making it not so bad anymore. I set reminders so I don't forget things, I always write down appointments and addresses etc.
Avatar f tn i never woke up, actually i saw myself falling in my dream, so no hands or anything to break the fall. my head hit the wall of the bathtub in front on the toilet, high on my forehead, then it was a faceplant to the tile floor. Since then i have a nice lump where my head took the initial blow, but there is also a second spot on the top/rightback'ish side of my head that is just as tender and sore. But there was no blow to that part of my head. Could i have a concussion and not know it?
Avatar f tn I am a concussion survivor. Could you get a concussion if your head stops suddenly from a fast movement? Yesterday I was in a hurry and running and pushed the door in front of me. It stopped abruptly which caused my body to stop too. Could this cause a concussion? I'm scared because I am recovering from a concussion already. Does it make me more prone to brain injury? Please, help me!
Avatar f tn Sounds like you might have a concussion. A concussion is a mild brain injury caused by a knock or blow to the head or a sudden change in motion. See a doctor just in case.
Avatar n tn https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/post-concussion-syndrome/symptoms-causes/syc-20353352 Make sure to tell the doctor about all of the workouts you're doing, to make sure you're not perpetuating the problem by doing a specific exercise. Hope you start to improve!
Avatar f tn I had a strange night terror that led to me having a panic attack in my dream that awoke me to experience one outside. Could this have been caused by the trauma to the head?
Avatar f tn As a a positive side effect, I have also noticed that things seem to be moving in slow motion some times. In other words, I see things much quicker and my reflexes have improved. Is this normal ?
Avatar m tn A doctor generally looks for focal neurological or generalized neurological symptoms that would show there is a pressure on brain somewhere. In absence of these symptoms and based on the history a diagnosis of concussion is given. If concussion is severe, and there is underlying brain injury, then yes, even death can occur. Hope this helps! Take care!
Avatar m tn My doctor said the same thing, it was do to the concussion and that I would be fine. I read in one of your post that your daughter was said to have Post-Concussion Syndrome after a head injury. I do not know how long ago that was but if you looked up what the doctor was talking about like I do when my kids health is involved. You might of seen that the syndrome can sometimes last over a year in some cases. As for epilepsy, I have it.
Avatar n tn I have a serious concussion and I have strained my trapiuses muscle... I also have osgood schlatters in one leg and I can't run with out getting dizzy due to the concussion... I really need to work out ... I have been out for a month ... Please and thank you !
Avatar m tn I was involve in a very bad car accident 02/10 and have no memory of the actual wreck. the hospital deemed I have a severe concussion and then also diagnosed me with Post Concussion Syndrome. I am currently also experiencing back and neck problems as well as getting a collarbone checked out for a possible fracture. My question is does coffee effect concussion and PCS recovery. And how long does recovery generally take.

Avatar f tn does a hit in the head followed by nausea, vertigo headache and diarrhea after 24 hours need to be examined and how serious it can be?
Avatar f tn Anyone please!!
Avatar f tn Obviously, depression has long stories to come with. I have been in and out of the doctor with my problems. I've had THE WORST stomach pains for the last month, and in the last month have lost over 20 pounds. I try to eat, I have nothing wrong with my body image, but I can't seem to do it. My body looks extremely unhealthy and skinny now; I weigh 105 pounds and I'm 5'4. So, I went to my primary doctor and he upped my dosage of Zoloft to 100mg.
