Avatar f tn t masturbate, but I have had, sex during concussion recovery and my symptoms always increase afterward, even if the sex is not strenuous. It is the movement of the head that cause such, so due to my head injury history and experience, any movements that affect movement of the head can have a negative affect on concussion symptoms and recovery.
Avatar f tn Has your doctor tested to see if a rise in blood pressure aggravates or causes the return of your concussion symptoms. Your recovery time generally depends upon this assessment. A recent study conducted by the University of Buffalo’s Concussion Management Clinic suggests that cardio vascular exercise performed on a equipment that does not involve a lot of impact or bouncing such as a stationary bike, elliptical or treadmill can speed the recovery process. One of the lead researchers Dr.
Avatar f tn Though Asperger’s by it self will not prolong concussion, the diagnosis of concussion in Asperger’s is often overlooked and some other cause or the disease itself attributed to as a cause of symptoms post injury. Hence it is important to consult a neuro-psychiatrist. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar m tn My concussion occurred 37 days ago when I slipped and fell backwards hitting the back of my head on a turf surface. In terms of the concussion recovery, I've been working with a concussion therapist to employ the practices of slowly getting back into activities without provoking symptoms. Unfortunately, I haven't seen much progress and may even have my symptoms come on earlier. I believe that this is related to sleep and neck issues that began about 18-20 days into the recovery.
Avatar f tn Ok so I have had close to the whole chart in symptoms of a concussion 7 months post impact. I was recovering at a fairly normal pace until about 3/4 weeks into recovery when pain worse than when I had the initial headache from trauma. Keep in mind at that point I was a healthy 15 year old boy that was extremely active. Well anyway the pain that had returned from nowhere was increasing gradually for about one and a half months until the pain was so intense I had to go to the ER at 1am.
Avatar f tn After experiencing unrelenting fatigue with soft tissue damage from a back and neck injury in Israel in June 2008, I was almost recovered when I suffered a concussion and whiplash as a passenger in an auto accident in March, 2009. Fatigue increased to where I could fall asleep anywhere, anytime and would just fall as if fainting but awake, also had balance problems and kept dropping things.
Avatar f tn Did your son require surgery? And how was his recovery? We are in the adoption process and considering a young girl with this heart problem and I have talked to drs at CHOP and Hopkins and get hopeful at times and then discourage at other time and we have three kids at home.
Avatar m tn Light sensitivity often (not always) indicates bleeding in the brain, which is in addition to the concussion. More bad news. You will probably have problems from neck pain about another six months down the line. Basically it's watchful waiting, but you really need an MRI and an MRA. I hope things work out alright.

Avatar f tn About 2 years ago, she was hit in the head with the handle bar of a bicycle, resulting in 12 staples in her head. They did not do a ct on her but said that she didn't suffer from a concussion. Her pediatrician has said that she can suffer from side effects for a year or so. Is this true? She is having a lot of pain and pressure in the area of the scarring. I am really starting to get worried. I cannot get a doctor to do any scans to check her out.
Avatar f tn I know the balls you are talking about and I would not like to get hit in the head by one. In the meantime lay low and do not do anything strenuous, use in ice pack and some type of pain reliever for your head. You could feel this way for awhile so since you did hurt your head. If nothing gets better within a week, then I would be going straight to the hospital.
Avatar f tn It is abundantly clear that in some cases concussions may result in seizures. That is not a "theory". It is a medical fact. It doesn't require "discussion". But not all concussions result in a seizure. There can be varying degrees of damage depending on the severity off the blow, where the impact takes place, and from resultant swelling, and if there is a delay in seeking medical attention. A "concussion" is not a "concussion".
Avatar m tn I sustained a minor concussion three weeks ago, and though my logical and linguistic faculties seemed to return to normal within a couple days, I have had persistent feelings of pressure and weakness in my head, though these have markedly diminished within the past week. At present, I have recovered enough that I am able to use the computer (with the monitor at low brightness) for simple tasks like reading and writing emails.
251315 tn?1198196557 Most people with PCS seem to make a recovery within 6 months, usually in less time - a few weeks. Sometimes patients see very little improvement, and then the symptoms quickly go away, so don't give up! In a small number of cases, the symptoms may persist. But even these patients are able to find good coping strategies that allow them to get back "into life" in most cases.
8506420 tn?1398432580 Kitten did not respond or show any pain when we felt the different portions of her head and body. There was no increase in heart rate and breathing. There is no bleeding from the nose, but there seemed to be anal discharge due to a foul smell, but no liquid is excreting. Movement is 100% when treats are shown to her, she is able to run around and jump as per normal without any disorientation.

Avatar f tn The radiation from a CT scan is significant and should only be done when necessary, especially in children. It may be possible that your son shouldn't participate in high impact sports anymore. His mental capacity, intelligence and being able to live headache free are more valuable than high school football experience.
Avatar f tn I am a concussion survivor. Could you get a concussion if your head stops suddenly from a fast movement? Yesterday I was in a hurry and running and pushed the door in front of me. It stopped abruptly which caused my body to stop too. Could this cause a concussion? I'm scared because I am recovering from a concussion already. Does it make me more prone to brain injury? Please, help me!
