My concussion occurred 37 days ago when I slipped and fell backwards hitting the back of my head on a turf surface. In terms of the concussion recovery, I've been working with a concussion therapist to employ the practices of slowly getting back into activities without provoking symptoms. Unfortunately, I haven't seen much progress and may even have my symptoms come on earlier. I believe that this is related to sleep and neck issues that began about 18-20 days into the recovery.
Ok so I have had close to the whole chart in symptoms of a concussion 7 months post impact. I was recovering at a fairly normal pace until about 3/4 weeks into recovery when pain worse than when I had the initial headache from trauma. Keep in mind at that point I was a healthy 15 year old boy that was extremely active. Well anyway the pain that had returned from nowhere was increasing gradually for about one and a half months until the pain was so intense I had to go to the ER at 1am.
After experiencing unrelenting fatigue with soft tissue damage from a back and neck injury in Israel in June 2008, I was almost recovered when I suffered a concussion and whiplash as a passenger in an auto accident in March, 2009.
Fatigue increased to where I could fall asleep anywhere, anytime and would just fall as if fainting but awake, also had balance problems and kept dropping things.
Light sensitivity often (not always) indicates bleeding in the brain, which is in addition to the concussion. More bad news. You will probably have problems from neck pain about another six months down the line. Basically it's watchful waiting, but you really need an MRI and an MRA. I hope things work out alright.

About 2 years ago, she was hit in the head with the handle bar of a bicycle, resulting in 12 staples in her head. They did not do a ct on her but said that she didn't suffer from a concussion. Her pediatrician has said that she can suffer from side effects for a year or so. Is this true? She is having a lot of pain and pressure in the area of the scarring. I am really starting to get worried. I cannot get a doctor to do any scans to check her out.
I know the balls you are talking about and I would not like to get hit in the head by one. In the meantime lay low and do not do anything strenuous, use in ice pack and some type of pain reliever for your head. You could feel this way for awhile so since you did hurt your head. If nothing gets better within a week, then I would be going straight to the hospital.
It is abundantly clear that in some cases concussions may result in seizures. That is not a "theory". It is a medical fact. It doesn't require "discussion". But not all concussions result in a seizure. There can be varying degrees of damage depending on the severity off the blow, where the impact takes place, and from resultant swelling, and if there is a delay in seeking medical attention. A "concussion" is not a "concussion".
I sustained a minor concussion three weeks ago, and though my logical and linguistic faculties seemed to return to normal within a couple days, I have had persistent feelings of pressure and weakness in my head, though these have markedly diminished within the past week. At present, I have recovered enough that I am able to use the computer (with the monitor at low brightness) for simple tasks like reading and writing emails.
sounds like you need to go to the dr. asap. you may have a concussion as well as other problems. an mri at the very least should give you more information.

my name is katie im 20 years old i played soccer for 16 years since i was little , over the past years i had 6 concussion , after those concussion i had MRI done apperetnly they didnt find anything and everything , all testing were normal ,, but theres a cluster of granuloma on the left pretrous apex. my brain is otherwise normal.

My brother is 17 and suffered a concussion last year in football. At the beginning of this year he started getting migranes with blurred vision about once a month. But lately he has been getting them more frequently with the blurred vision and this morning he needed help down the stairs. Should my family be concerned or is it just foods he is eating being so young.
The radiation from a CT scan is significant and should only be done when necessary, especially in children. It may be possible that your son shouldn't participate in high impact sports anymore. His mental capacity, intelligence and being able to live headache free are more valuable than high school football experience.

They said in most cases a blood clot resulting from a concussion is located in a place they cannot treat, but in this case, the fact that it is in the vein, located between the skull and the brain that they could treat it with blood thinners.
