concussion

Avatar f tn My MRI test reads: Evidence of acute territorial infarction or hemorrhage. No mass or mass effect. Scattered ctT2 and FLAIR hyperintensities in the periventricular and subcortical white matter are nonspecific, however most consistent with microangiopathic changes. Sensitivity to light, sound. I fell, hit my head first on hard tile floor. I'm having increasing pressure in my head. Especially on left side above eye where I hit my head. Vision changes in right eye.
Avatar m tn I wrote again because I am worried your daughter might have meningitis. She has 2 of 3 symptoms. Headache, neck pain due to swollen lymph nodes and fever and are the signs of it. I really think she needs to go into the ER. But take her temperature and see how high it is. You can get viral meningitis as well as bacterial and fungal. It could be her fever went down too. take care and let me know how she does.
Avatar f tn haedache is not related to masturbation.
Avatar f tn i got hit in my head last week. i m suffering from severe headache. there's sharp pain at the back of my head. the pain towards my forehead too. what should i do?
Avatar f tn I suffered a concussion on Jan. 3rd and had just a bad headache,a little dizziness and a lump on the back of my head. Then a few days to a week the dizziness got alot worse, i became unsteady on my feet, developed ringing in my ears, nausea and the headache got worse. I've had an MRI and CT Scan and both were fine. Now I'm having a little problem with remembering names and other little things, plus I've noticed that loud noises and bright lights seem to bother me too.
Avatar m tn I took a blow to the back of my head 3 days ago, it was pretty hard but I did not lose consciousness or get dizzy. My vision has been fine also. I do have a headache now for three days. Should I be concerned?
Avatar f tn last tuesday (8/23) i went to the doctor to get my meningitis vaccine. i woke up this morning feeling sooooo sick i just wanna curl up and sleep for days. now, i could be confusing it with a flu or something else but these are my symptoms: my entire body is so achy, constant headaches (migraines where it hurts to look in bright rooms/distances), muscle twitching, i feel like i'm running a fever but my temp says 98.0 F, my teeth hurt?
Avatar n tn Do you have a fever if so then how high is it? Do you have a headache, vomiting, tiredness? Joint pain ? Big thing is high fever with the neck stiffness. It sounds possible with the achy pain you might have a fever. Check it.Let me know.
Avatar m tn Have you been exposed to meningitis? I understand you are a college student, and meningitis can be more prevalent in close quarters such as when living in a dorm. My honest thoughts are that you have a flu virus rather than meningitis, however, if you have been exposed to meningitis, you most definitely need to be checked. If you have been exposed to meningitis, by all means go to the ER and tell them you have been exposed and have been feeling somewhat sick.
Avatar f tn Usually, such headaches and dizziness may result due to post-concussion syndrome and may last for weeks or months after the injury that caused from the injury of a fall, vehicle accident, or sports injury. In addition, patient may experience either migraine type or tension type headache. For treatment approach, first it is essential to get (MRI) done to detect the brain abnormalities after that injury.
Avatar f tn Vomiting/nausea, light sensitivity, sensitivity to noise, confusion/altered mental state, headache, fatigue.... All are concussion symptoms. If he was hit twice he needs to see a Dr.
Avatar m tn and small cut where I hit it. I got a headache and then very nauseated about 20 minutes later. The next day at work I was almost finished with my shift and all the sudden I got so dizzy I couldn't walk out of work without holding on to the wall. The third day when I was at home, I woke up, I still had a headache and was dizzy all day and just felt blah so I went to my dr. that day. He did a neuro exam and during this exam he made me walk across the room.
Avatar f tn About 2 days ago I ate a sort of cold piece of KFC chicken then went out and ate a shish kabob, woke up with a bloated stomach and after fighting with myself for hours, I finally threw up, I fell asleep and when I woke up I was extremely nauseous and I couldn't even stand without losing my balance, I had diahrrea and gases for the whole day and my neck and lower back was hurting and it was giving me a headache, I didn't eat anything the whole day, just drank plenty of Gatorade and ate 1
Avatar n tn I've had a headache every day for 8 days. They are mild headaches, but painful enough that I'm unable to do much unless I force myself while I'm at work-- which makes the headache worse. These headaches are not sensitive to light, are not throbbing, or stabbing. They are more full/pressure. The headaches are on the front right/middle side of my head. I've tried alieve, mortin, tylonol, asprin, and migraine meds... nothing helps.
Avatar n tn when some one suffers from concussion at what stage shold they be taken by ambulance to hospital. Does that happen if the person has a long period of unconsciousness or just with any unconscoussness? if when they wake up they have a dazed and confused look on their face and then when they try to stand up they loos there balance should they be called and ambulance and be taken to hospital. At what point should a ct scan be done?
Avatar n tn The headache is mostly where I hit my head. While I was driving I experienced a tingling sensation through both of my arms and hands and felt weak.
203342 tn?1328737207 My best friend is in the hospital right now with unexplained symptoms and no one can seem to find out why she's in such pain. She's been to the hospital 3 times this week. The first time they said she had bronchitis and slight pneumonia and sent her home. Two days later she was worse and was scared because she's had Meningitis before and said it felt just like that with the head and neck pain.
Avatar m tn About a month ago the boy I nanny woke up with a horrible headache and was admitted to the hospital and had meningitis. A week after that I woke up with a horrible headache that wouldn't go away. I get really dizzy and light headed frequently. I went to the ER and had an MRI, MRV, blood work and a spinal tap and everything comes out fine. After that I was admitted to the hospital. I have been to every type of doctor possible and they don't know what is wrong with me.
Avatar m tn My question comes on behalf of my younger brother, who recently sustained a head injury that was thought to be a concussion, though no official diagnosis was sought. About a week has passed since the incident and he has started to complain about minor headaches, a symptom that had him sent to his school nurse yesterday, who noticed a disparity in the size of his pupils as the right one was slightly larger than the left.
Avatar m tn Alright so let me start off by saying i know how ridiculous this sounds but I need to be sure. Im 18.Today was a normal morning, I went to the my couch and kinda jumped down into it. I landed on my butt with my body toward the tv. when i landed though i felt a sort of "thump" on the top of my head when i landed almost as if my brain hit the top of my skull. I wouldn't say I have a headache like getting your bell rung, but lets just say i felt a lot better before I sat down.
Avatar n tn My son, who is rarely ill, has all the sudden gotten fever, headache, severe stabbing pains in his head, sensitivity to light, dry throat, dizziness and nausea. I thought that he had been in the sun to long and have given him ibprophen and had him take a cool bath and given him ice water to drink. It assists the fever, but the stabbing pains remain, and are untouched by the pain meds. This of course just had to fall on the weekend.....
Avatar n tn I do not have any sort of cognitive issues though. Could this be a concussion? I do get migraines, and this headache does feel a bit like a migraine, but I am worried because I did hit my head. Should I be concerned? I do not feel awful right now, other than the headache. Thanks!
Avatar f tn Friday morning, I was getting ready to take a shower. Due to my clumsy nature, I ran into the door frame on the left side (my left) of my head. It hurt for a few seconds, but afterward, I was fine and jumped into the shower. I didn't pass out, I wasn't dizzy, no nausea, etc. I've looked up symptoms of concussions quite a few times as I am a big worrier, and the only one I'm really experiencing is a headache, although it isn't severe.
Avatar m tn So you can see how I suspected meningitis and reading about how HSV-2 induced meningitis was common and got really worried. Cause if it was meningitis I was sure it would be herpes. But this has been going on for 30 days now (yes, till today). GP did not think it was so with clinical tests and the neurologist appointment was a referral on my request - scheduled two days later which I think is indicative they did not think it was meningitis.
Avatar f tn Do you think he had a concussion/minor traumatic brain damage? Can this kind of impact be enough to cause concussion? Thanks for reading!
