concussion

Avatar m tn Was intoxicated. Had a huge lump. Went to Urgent Care 3 days later, no need for a CT scan just a mild concussion. Did not have any symptoms beside bruised head. Next day, I was very, very dazed. Felt like I was in a dream Day after that had some mild headaches. Went to my regular GP 3 days later. Again, no need for CT scan just had a mild concussion. I have severe anxiety.
Avatar n tn when some one suffers from concussion at what stage shold they be taken by ambulance to hospital. Does that happen if the person has a long period of unconsciousness or just with any unconscoussness? if when they wake up they have a dazed and confused look on their face and then when they try to stand up they loos there balance should they be called and ambulance and be taken to hospital. At what point should a ct scan be done?
Avatar f tn It bled alot at first then slowed down and stopped completely around 8 hours later. it seems to be healing but is still slightly an openish soar. I had a headache of course for the past three days which has reduced to a dull ache. There is a loss of feeling around the area, accept the gash which is more sore. I get slightly sick to my stomache when its messed with and now my head seams to be constontly itching. I also had a slight eye twitch which has stopped.
Avatar n tn I have a pretty good knot on my head still and know I had a concussion (dizziness, fatigue, nausea/vomiting and headache). Well.. today my head still hurts, but I am noticing pain in my ear as well still. That began last night. Since I do not have insurance, I am wondering if I should be concerned and seek treatment. Please advise!
Avatar f tn Tuesday I flew home, neck still stiff ,headache after my flight in the evening. Wednesday I wake up headache starts later in the day neck is almost better, Nd today Thursday I woke up with a headache and became nauseous in the evening. I told my dad about my headache and he just says in a stress headache. I’m not sure what to do? I live in Canada so the cost is not a problem and there is a hospital nearby that has a separate walk in clinic. I don’t have a mother so don’t bother.
Avatar f tn i got hit in my head last week. i m suffering from severe headache. there's sharp pain at the back of my head. the pain towards my forehead too. what should i do?
16948797 tn?1452582673 t available at the time, and when I woke up about couple hours later.. The bump had reduced its size notably but would not feel the the coldness of the Ice pack as well as other part of the head) I had slight symptoms feeling a bit uncoordinated and a slight headache.
Avatar f tn Vomiting/nausea, light sensitivity, sensitivity to noise, confusion/altered mental state, headache, fatigue.... All are concussion symptoms. If he was hit twice he needs to see a Dr.
Avatar n tn However, 2 days later i have a bad headache, sore neck all over, and I had nausea earlier. I do not have any sort of cognitive issues though. Could this be a concussion? I do get migraines, and this headache does feel a bit like a migraine, but I am worried because I did hit my head. Should I be concerned? I do not feel awful right now, other than the headache. Thanks!
Avatar m tn after suffering a blow to the head,i had a headache for about a week, however i did not seek medical attention.the headaches went away for about 2 months then i was rushed to emergency with dizziness and light headedness, and blood pressure 188/89 after ct scans and other tests they could find nothing wrong.i was rushed to hospital 2 weeks after that with same symptoms plus my whole body was shaking.now i have been diagnosed with post concussion syndrome.

435918 tn?1204737341 I was involved in a car accident exactly 3 weeks ago. I was hit HARD from behind, then my car ran into the vehicle in front of me. I was diagnosed with cervical strain, but followed up with my primary MD because my head hurt so bad I could not hold it up. He ordered a CT of my head which came back normal, as well as giving me a prescription of Percocet.
Avatar m tn and small cut where I hit it. I got a headache and then very nauseated about 20 minutes later. The next day at work I was almost finished with my shift and all the sudden I got so dizzy I couldn't walk out of work without holding on to the wall. The third day when I was at home, I woke up, I still had a headache and was dizzy all day and just felt blah so I went to my dr. that day. He did a neuro exam and during this exam he made me walk across the room.
Avatar m tn I have suffered from 2 concussions. My first one happened tubing behind a boat in summer 2011. Fell off the tube and immediately felt dizzy, almost as if it took me a few seconds to regain myself. I had never felt that feeling before, but assumed the jolt my head took when it hit the water that I had suffered a concussion. I didn't begin to feel that "pressure headache" until a couple of hours later that afternoon.
Avatar f tn Friday morning, I was getting ready to take a shower. Due to my clumsy nature, I ran into the door frame on the left side (my left) of my head. It hurt for a few seconds, but afterward, I was fine and jumped into the shower. I didn't pass out, I wasn't dizzy, no nausea, etc. I've looked up symptoms of concussions quite a few times as I am a big worrier, and the only one I'm really experiencing is a headache, although it isn't severe.
Avatar m tn Alright so let me start off by saying i know how ridiculous this sounds but I need to be sure. Im 18.Today was a normal morning, I went to the my couch and kinda jumped down into it. I landed on my butt with my body toward the tv. when i landed though i felt a sort of "thump" on the top of my head when i landed almost as if my brain hit the top of my skull. I wouldn't say I have a headache like getting your bell rung, but lets just say i felt a lot better before I sat down.
Avatar f tn i have some memory loss but its not too bad but i get confused a lot haha and i have a really hard time concentrating it takes a lot of effort for me to concentrate i also have some balance problems since this started and its really weird it isnt that bad its just weird cause im not used to it sometimes i have a hard time swallowing and sometimes my eyes jump side to side rapidly or my vision goes in and out of focus and is sometimes blurry i also have nausea sometimes im really concerned bec
Avatar f tn I suffered a concussion on Jan. 3rd and had just a bad headache,a little dizziness and a lump on the back of my head. Then a few days to a week the dizziness got alot worse, i became unsteady on my feet, developed ringing in my ears, nausea and the headache got worse. I've had an MRI and CT Scan and both were fine. Now I'm having a little problem with remembering names and other little things, plus I've noticed that loud noises and bright lights seem to bother me too.
19712445 tn?1483079621 About a week ago I hit my head pretty hard in my four head area 12 hours later I went to the ER because of head pain. They did a CT scan and told me everything was OK. Two days later I was still having hip pain but I was also feeling dizzy lightheaded and fatigue along with other random symptoms. So I went to the ER again all they did was look over my last CT scan and told me I was OK and sent me home.
Avatar f tn I went to a concussion specialist who performed an impact test on me and diagnosed me with a concussion. A couple weeks later I got cleared but soon after I started experiencing severe sensitivity to light and my vision seemed to worsen. I had been given glasses to use while driving for distance and now I have to wear them all the time or I can’t see.
Avatar f tn After getting hit on the head, you can certainly have a concussion. There are multiple grading scales for concussion. The American Academy of Neurology scale is graded on a scale of 1 to 3, where grade 3 has any loss of consciousness. Grade 2 is with any symptoms lasting more than 15 minutes. If there is any loss of consciousness or alteration in mentation or neurological deficit, labeling the injury as traumatic brain injury would also be appropriate.
Avatar n tn I got hit in the head with a softball a few years ago and was very dizzy, nauseous, and had a headache. I did not go to the doctor.... found out 2 months later (after the feeling was starting to come back and I got black eyes) that I did indeed have a mild concussion and had to go for a CT Scan for possible nerve damage. I still do not have a lot of feeling in the spot that I got hit. He needs to go to a hospital and get checked out.
Avatar m tn And the headache lasts roughly four hours. The pain is excruciating, like a concussion. Speaking of, I played football and have had a concussion before. I've decided to abstain from masturbation for a week (<tough decision eh?XD). Anyways, I'm wondering if this is a kind of headache I should consult my family physician about. The headache doesn't come just when i masturbate either. Since it started, I've not been able to workout, or otherwise strain myself physically.
10506901 tn?1431350757 I am trying to figure out if this is from Iron deficiency or concussion. If it is iron deficiency it makes sense as I was doing about 9 hours of exercise per week back when this started and I am thinking maybe I just wore myself out. I know anemia can cause migraines. I need to know what other people experience with iron deficiency headaches. What kind of headaches do you have???
Avatar n tn No LOC, no confusion, no amnesia of the event or immediately before. I had no symptoms whatso ever for 2 hours. On day-1, I had a mild headache and some lightheadedness. On day-2, for a few hours the headache and lightheadedness (not vertigo) continued. I also had some numbness of Lt leg and weakness of Rt. hand for few hours that spontaneously resolved. After 28 hours, I was completely symptom free.
Avatar f tn Yesterday I suffered mild blow to the head. I have hit my head many times before, much harder than yesterday and yet, I've never experienced any symptoms that might be indicative of concussion. Yesterday, however, I felt a bit dizzy for a few minutes immediately after having been hit. Also, 15 minutes following the blow, I started to feel a bit nauseated.
Avatar f tn Also for a doctor to say she can have problems later on would be an indication of a concussion. Find a respected neurologist who will see children.
Avatar f tn m really foggy about most of the details of the later half of my night. My friend told me I hit the back of my head really hard on a concrete wall (more than once). I vaguely think I might remember the first hit, but I have no recollection of the next couple hours, apparently I literally could not walk on my own and I vomited about 20 times. I start to remember when I got home (somewhat) because I remember vomiting another five times.
