785277 tn?1244324809 I've heard that there is a thing called online gaming addiction... Do you think it is possible I might have it? I constantly check my messages online, even when I should be doing other things, and my grades in school are falling because of this. Whenever I go online to "just check my messages," I end up being online for hours. Sometimes I choose to stay home just so that I can be online, instead of going out places.
Avatar m tn He got a mild concussion in football and was out of the game for 2 weeks (this really made him nervous as his cousin had a severe concussion with lasting brain damage), soon after he healed from the concussion he got swine flu and was out of school the better part of two weeks, shortly after a return to health he got Mono and strep throat (he wasn't fatigued, but had a severe sore throat, pains, and difficulty swallowing). Now he gets scared at school.
Avatar f tn From what you mentioned about your lack of focus with online school along with lower grades, it sounds like you should be in a public school. But what was the reason your mother switched you to an online school?
Avatar f tn It is not possible to predict what happens after concussion. Most likely it is a concussion but you may never know. If MRI picks up anything it may be fixed at early stage (like CSF leaks, minute bleeding etc.,). I personally know some one who CSF leak after they had a mild concussion and suffered. Finally she went to John Hopkins where they fixed and she is doing excellent now. As rumpled suggests go to doctor as soon as you can. good luck.
Avatar f tn If so, that might help actually strengthen his comprehension and problem solving skills. You can also find skill building practice and games online for many subjects. If he continues struggling, home schooling or virtual school may be a great alternative if it's possible. Good luck!
Avatar f tn I have a 13yo son who has admitted to sniffing markers off/on x 3years. I am worried that he may have suffered permanent damage--- he has mood swings, behavioral issues at school, poor grades, and often angry. Not sure how much of this is "normal teenage", side effects from previous use or maybe is still sniffing?? Is there any type of test I can do? I am worried if I take him to his pediatrician, will she report this to CPS or the police? Help!
Avatar f tn I just went skiing for the first time with my dad and my siblings. I'm only 14 years old. I was doing pretty good but then I fell pretty hard. I mean, I was falling before, but this time, my back slammed against the ground and my head whipped forward. Now it hurts when I shake my head or move it too rapidly. I'm scared I could have a concussion and I'm also really scared if I fall asleep I'll slip into a coma or die. Can someone help?
Avatar f tn Though Asperger’s by it self will not prolong concussion, the diagnosis of concussion in Asperger’s is often overlooked and some other cause or the disease itself attributed to as a cause of symptoms post injury. Hence it is important to consult a neuro-psychiatrist. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar f tn I only have 2 weeks of school left before Im on only online classes and my grades for my cooking class is too jacked for me to skip out.
Avatar m tn I’m a 19 year old 5’11 140 pound Caucasian male with post concussion syndrome from a life of contact sports and also an anxiety disorder Well this is likely the end of my life, something truly tragic has happened. Was walking down the street, bent down to throw something in the trash, lifted my body back up and smashed my head under a street sign. It made a huge sound and a woman passing by even said a loud ‘oof’ Which basically confirms the severity of the impact.
151462 tn?1359172276 Can anyone shed any light on syncope/fainting. I have been blacking out approx. once a month for the past two years. I have low BP that my cardiologist has me on medicaiton to raise my BP. However I am still blacking out. I have increased my salt intake like he suggested, and began wearing compression hose from time to time. Over the course of the past three weeks I have blackout/fainted approx 20 times. I fall and I am only down for a few seconds.
Avatar f tn My teen just entered a new highschool and so far she hasn't shown that she is able to handle the school work. I have a hard time getting her to actually start her homework, then when I think she's doing research for her projects online, she's either on facebook or an online game site. Her grades are ridiculously low and she doesn't seem to care that its that bad.
Avatar f tn No pituitary tumor. I had a concussion 8 years ago with pretty severe post concussive syndrome after hitting the right lower part of the back of my head, not sure if this could be related. Blood pressure is on the lower side. I’m really baffled. I can’t find anything online other than floaters, but this isn’t a floater. Has anyone ever heard of this?
Avatar f tn We called her and asked her to let us know about her grades, so she gave us her password to check online to see her grades. Well when we looked, she had 0 credits for the whole junior year. We were so upset, my husband immediately called her and said what is going on?? She said I had a bad year, I was afraid to tell you, I thought I could handle it myself and I didn't want you to find out, because I promise I will do better now and that won't happen again.
Avatar m tn bumped my head against the steel roof of the vehicle I rode when we went through a bumpy road. The hit was so loud, I got dizzy and felt nauseous. I went to the doctor complaining that the bump was affecting my focus. It makes me feel tired even if I got a full night's sleep. He said it's nothing, and will heal after a few weeks. The feeling was like I have something put on top of my head- something "heavy".
Avatar m tn I'm 18 years old, a senior in high school and i have a 2.3 gpa at the moment. My whole life mainly since the 8th grade, my grades haven't been too well. Everyday my dad brings up the past and my grades, i try hard in school but it seems like when it comes to tests, i will forget what i learned quickly. My dad also always brings up how i'm not responsible, i dont deserve this i dont deserve that etc... We argue almost everyday cause he will get mad at the most littlest things.
Avatar f tn My son is 9 years old and just started the 4th grade in August. He started off the school year doing just fine, getting A's and B's. Then all of a sudden he got a D on a paper. We went over his mistakes and I told him that it happens to everyone once in a while. About a week later, he got another D on a paper. I told him that he can't make a habit of this and that 4th grade is going to be harder than 3rd and just to continue to do his best.
1253246 tn?1332073310 8 Geno type 1..The Grades and Stages always confuse me!!!Gonna wait for new meds-VL 10,000,000 I guess Im ok for now?????
Avatar m tn I was involve in a very bad car accident 02/10 and have no memory of the actual wreck. the hospital deemed I have a severe concussion and then also diagnosed me with Post Concussion Syndrome. I am currently also experiencing back and neck problems as well as getting a collarbone checked out for a possible fracture. My question is does coffee effect concussion and PCS recovery. And how long does recovery generally take.
Avatar m tn I cant get to a vet because it is labor day weekend and nobody is open. I looked information up online and it said to keep her calm and not let her get excited or hyper, but im afraid to let her go to sleep in fear of her not waking back up! WHAT DO I DO!?
