Avatar n tn I am 18 years old and last fall during Rugby season I had a concussion. I was out of conscious for around 4 minutes. And now yesterday I was snowboarding and fell multiple times on my head while not wearing a helmet. My head imideatly felt pain in the same spot of where I felt the pain during my concussion in rugby. Im not sure if I lost consciousness or not during one of the falls. And now I am starting the wrestling season I dont know if i should take this season off or not?
Avatar f tn Thank you so much for the input at least it gives me another way to go no the doctors never mentioned the post concussion syndrome but I'll check into it however its not just high school football to him its his college choice on the line unfortunatly but his health is more important to me we will see what I can figure out thanks again.
Avatar m tn I'm 16 years old after my football concussion my eyes have gotten farther apart now I can't even look my friends in the eyes . Do eye doctors do surgery for this or medicine . What should I do ?
Avatar f tn Ok so I have had close to the whole chart in symptoms of a concussion 7 months post impact. I was recovering at a fairly normal pace until about 3/4 weeks into recovery when pain worse than when I had the initial headache from trauma. Keep in mind at that point I was a healthy 15 year old boy that was extremely active. Well anyway the pain that had returned from nowhere was increasing gradually for about one and a half months until the pain was so intense I had to go to the ER at 1am.

Hopefully we can let me do discus at the end of the year...NOT A CONTACT SPORT....They are talking about taking me out of football for good. Avatar f tn t due to the concussion but something found because of the concussion causing you to get diagnostic testing done. But I would get a 2d opinion unless the near-surgeon and the testing saw something urgent. A lot can be wrong without symptoms.

Avatar f tn I suffered a concussion 4 months ago when I fell during a parade with my high school band. My mom took me to the ER and I was diagnosed with a concussion. I had a CT scan and nothing was out of the ordinary, and it seemed to just be a mild concussion. 4 months later, I'm still having issues. I'm a junior in high school and concentration and memory issues made me switch out of all of my honors classes into regular ones and drop both math and science completely.
Avatar m tn now i have been diagnosed with post concussion syndrome.is it possible for this to happen and how long will it last.
Avatar f tn He played high school and college football and substained a concussion playing football while in 10th grade. He also broke his ankle playing college footbal which resulted in surgery and a metal plate was fused to his bones to repair his broken ankle. ER doctors think he had a seizure @ the wheel of the car. I am totally uninformed, am not a doctor and don't think he has eplipesy or seizures. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Avatar n tn I had one my junior year, which was not too serious, and the effects of it soon cleared up. However, the next year, I received a violent blow to the head (football again) in which my mouthpiece wasn't in correctly. I was wearing a revolution helmet, the supposedly concussion proof helmets, which cracked all the way down the side from where I got hit. I blacked out momentarily and got up a few moments later having little recollection as to what happened.

Avatar n tn my boyfriend suffered multiple concussions and post concussion before he suffered a couple within the last month. my main concern is his extreme borderline personality symptoms thathe now has. he is still healing from the injuries so understandably his symptoms are more serious but my main concern is if it may not subside overtime but if it will, how long will it take cause it is alot for me to handle. are there any treatments for him to take.
Avatar m tn I am a 19 year old male who has suffered 8 concussions from football and various other sports. These are only the ones that have been diagnosed and are all from within a 5 year span. I have seen a neurologist as well as having 2 MRI's and a CT scan but all the results said everything was functioning fine and would just take time.
Avatar m tn He got a mild concussion in football and was out of the game for 2 weeks (this really made him nervous as his cousin had a severe concussion with lasting brain damage), soon after he healed from the concussion he got swine flu and was out of school the better part of two weeks, shortly after a return to health he got Mono and strep throat (he wasn't fatigued, but had a severe sore throat, pains, and difficulty swallowing). Now he gets scared at school.
Avatar n tn Because I read the sports pages a lot, it sounds like concussion syndrome to me. Football players get it a lot. So while it could be anxiety attacks, you did suffer a concussion. Are you seeing a specialist for that?
Avatar n tn t ask about his demeanor during the day, but I just talked to my daughter and they had gone to a sports bar to watch a football game but had to leave early because my grandson became nauseous again. I want her to call her doctor or go to the ER but she doesn't think it's necessary. What do you think?
Avatar f tn My 17 year old son, who has always been very active in sports, especially football and basketball was injured two months ago when a pellet went through his chest and eventually ended up lodged in the neck area behind his right ear. Doctors say where it is lodged, it will never move and should not pose any problems at all. He spent three days in the hospital with a collapsed lung and a week out of school.
Avatar f tn my oldest son is now 16 yrs old,he was at football practice on friday the 25th around 7:30 p.m.
Avatar m tn Hi, I'm 55 years old and was playing football with my 3 year old grandson. I threw the ball to him and he started to fall backwards so I lunged toward him and put my arms around him so he wouldn't bang his head on the concrete floor and kind of turned to the side so I would take the brunt of the fall..
Avatar f tn Concussions and other brain injuries results from high-contact sports such as football, boxing, wrestling and hockey. Aside from headache, other symptoms noted are dizziness, lightheadedness, memory loss, nausea or vomiting, blurred vision and sensitivity to light, difficulty in concentrating or with balance. For complex concussion, symptoms may last longer than 7-10 days. Have her rest and to avoid any activities. It is also important to avoid loud, bright, busy environments.
Avatar n tn My brother is 17 and suffered a concussion last year in football. At the beginning of this year he started getting migranes with blurred vision about once a month. But lately he has been getting them more frequently with the blurred vision and this morning he needed help down the stairs. Should my family be concerned or is it just foods he is eating being so young.
Avatar m tn And the headache lasts roughly four hours. The pain is excruciating, like a concussion. Speaking of, I played football and have had a concussion before. I've decided to abstain from masturbation for a week (<tough decision eh?XD). Anyways, I'm wondering if this is a kind of headache I should consult my family physician about. The headache doesn't come just when i masturbate either. Since it started, I've not been able to workout, or otherwise strain myself physically.
Avatar m tn This was a routine MRI, so we thought, after a concussion. There are only three things this child cares about. 1) Football, 2) Football, and 3) Competitive target shooting. I feel so bad for him. All he has every dreamed about since he was nine was to play in the NFL. Now, how do you tell him that he won't even have a chance too?
