Avatar n tn Even the whole principle of IQ tests are questionable as it is not a good indicator for intelligence as the definition of intelligence is vast. Blood work should be done and I strongly recommend the assessment with a psychologist.
Avatar f tn It is abundantly clear that in some cases concussions may result in seizures. That is not a "theory". It is a medical fact. It doesn't require "discussion". But not all concussions result in a seizure. There can be varying degrees of damage depending on the severity off the blow, where the impact takes place, and from resultant swelling, and if there is a delay in seeking medical attention. A "concussion" is not a "concussion".
Avatar f tn That is not due to concussion. You should be seen by an Eye MD ophthalmologist for a medical eye exam.
Avatar m tn Otherwise this pressure will go in a few days. However, it is important to get a medical evaluation. So please consult your doctor once. Take care!
Avatar n tn It has him extremely concerned, and there is nothing in anything we have read that relates this to a symptom of the concussion. Is this normal??? Should we be concerned?? What type of medical help (if any) should we seek? Thank you in advance for any information you can provide!!!
Avatar m tn While I was doing that sport I got really bad sharps pains in the back right side of my head. It hurt so bad I had to stop and just stand there. And since my concussion my right leg has been jerking once a lot a day. I have also had a lot of memory problems since my concussion. I used to have really good memory, but now I will forget something someone just told me. I wasn't sure if someone knew why this all is happening.
Avatar m tn Another symptom was a mild headache when I was tired but I do not know whether this can be attributed to the hit or to me feeling overly anxious over a possible concussion. Do you think a concussion is a possibility? Any feedback would be very welcome!
Avatar f tn She told me that I had fallen and hit my head, which had caused me to have a concussion. That had caused me to have seizures, which had caused me to have a stroke. The whole left side of my body was in fact parylized at the time. Then she asked me what my husband had done to me. She went on to question me at length about his ever having hit me, and managed to actually give me false memories of terrible abuse at his hands.
Avatar f tn I have begged him to go back to a doctor to get his concussion checked out but he refuses. Does it sound like he needs to seek medical help for the concussion considering he never received any after-care and continued to drink on the concussion? Its been about 10 months since this happened so it is likely that he could still be suffering from the after affects of the concussion? Thank you for your time.
Avatar f tn I`ve suffered from three concussion over the spand of a few months. The first two within week of each other and 2 months after a third. The last one was in August. Since then I have been very cautious to not hit my head but lets face it it`s nearly impossible. Kids will soft balls around and balls outside. They will flail their arms and hit your head or just nick you. Someone will bump into you and make you fall back. YOu will pull on something and it will make you jolt.
Avatar f tn You need to go to the hospital Accident and Emergency urgently to get examined for concussion, xrayed to see if you have cracked scull and for any evidence of brain haemorrhage. Having your head banged with such force is very serious and it appears that you have got symptoms of concussion. It is important to get seen to immediately, so as to ensure there is no brain haemorrhage. If your vision starts to get worse, this is a very situation to be in. Please go to the hospital and checked out.
435918 tn?1204737341 I suffer muscles that get as stiff as metal rods and are very painful. This happened after a concussion with symptoms so strong there were times I could barely walk, along with a host of other symptoms, for weeks after the accident. Then followed the 'metal' muscles. There are a number of very rational reasons to suggest maladaptive synaptogenesis because of focal axon injury, and all i want is to get an mri or dti test and an expert to look at it.
1427258 tn?1282925864 I was involved in a MVA 2 months ago. I was at a stop and was hit from behind at about 40 mph. Among many other things the left side of my head bashed into where the seatbelt attaches to the car. I had a CT Scan to R/O bleeding.
Avatar f tn G'day. I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right area-don't know where else to put it. I've had a concussion for about 9 days now with "usual, mild-average" symptoms. The last couple days have been like the first couple days, cannot rest my head at night from the pain, taking two 650 mg Tylenols when I think of it, also seem more confused & forgetful (before major loss of sleep). The last 48 hrs. I've slept for 40 min's.
Avatar f tn A few questions come to mind to help you through this process: 1) Do you have access to the car to look at the dashboard in front of where you were sitting. You might be able to ID any indentations. 2) Have you been seen by any medical professional? 3) Was this a reportable accident and any police report? 4) Does the Driver of either vehicle have insurance? You should go immediately to a nearby ER and be examined by a Doctor and have any test or imaging they recommend.
Avatar n tn With all due respect sir, i did not grasp the context completely. it mean i was at low risk by this definition do i have to get tested for different STI or i do not need any testing? Looking forward to your kind reply.
Avatar f tn Though Asperger’s by it self will not prolong concussion, the diagnosis of concussion in Asperger’s is often overlooked and some other cause or the disease itself attributed to as a cause of symptoms post injury. Hence it is important to consult a neuro-psychiatrist. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar f tn I had a concussion about two years ago maybe three years (I hit the front left side of my head on the car door). I seen stars, I was dizzy, confussed and nauseated it was horrible. I never sought medical treatment for it but the soon after I noticed a lot of changes in me. My ability to think clearly and problem solve was greatly diminished.
