My dr says I need to treat myself as if I have a concussion for at least a year, or while symptoms last. I get headaches, dizziness, sometimes very
mild forgetfulness. I'm a nurse so you would think I wouldn't be so worried, but
I've never personally been the one healing. My doctors don't seem concerned much.
I guess I'm just worried myself. They have told me it was a miracle I wasn't in a coma because my head was so bad when my scans were reviewed when I came in.

I would definitely go to get an exam immediately . You could have a clot form inside your head,could have a bleed inside , or a concussion. So many things. If you vomit that's also a sign of something going on . I mean it's too tricky to know but a doctor would know. My brother had a closed head injury and the day after he went into a coma from a small bleed from a blood vessel that ruptured. They fixed it with surgery but he was in coma for a month..
I just went skiing for the first time with my dad and my siblings. I'm only 14 years old. I was doing pretty good but then I fell pretty hard. I mean, I was falling before, but this time, my back slammed against the ground and my head whipped forward. Now it hurts when I shake my head or move it too rapidly. I'm scared I could have a concussion and I'm also really scared if I fall asleep I'll slip into a coma or die. Can someone help?

(a) Where a behavioral change first occurs weeks after a concussion, what would be causing this? I would have assumed that symptoms would improve over time -- not that new symptoms would present themselves. And (b) does this delayed onset tend to suggest that the changes are more likely to be permanent?

I diagnosed concussion because I had pretty much all the symptoms of one. And I didn't go to the hospital for two reasons 1) I didn't feel like trusting my driving skills after that 2) I did a typical test for "serious" head trama (watching what your eyes do, how long you can focus on things ext) so I knew it wasn't "serious" so I didn't think to go. I know thats bad but what can I say.
, (classic Post Concussion symptoms 24/7) and for many TBI patients I heard it is common. Fatigue resolving a little since I am taking some action like 20 minute work out in the evening. You can try some exercise if you can. Key thing is not to over do it. Not sure you on any meds since that can amplify the fatigue.
I tried Vision Therapy for my dizziness and no luck. But you may benefit from it. No one can tell what helps and you have to find out.
Your symptoms could be due to migraine or PCS ( post concussion syndrome ) because of the concussion that you had years ago.Please go for an MRI brain to know the exact cause and consult a neurologist for treatment as a delay could be dangerous. Yesterday I suffered mild blow to the head. I have hit my head many times before, much harder than yesterday and yet, I've never experienced any symptoms that might be indicative of concussion. Yesterday, however, I felt a bit dizzy for a few minutes immediately after having been hit. Also, 15 minutes following the blow, I started to feel a bit nauseated.
I would rather have my MRI read in Cleveland. I wonder how long a person can have concussion symptoms. If the symptoms should have disappeared by now, I have to wonder if it is the Chiari that is worse bc of the hard hit on the head.

symptoms of a concussion can last days, weeks or longer....you never know. and these symptoms you are experiencing now could go away and you could end up with diff symptoms some time after. Im not a doctor but am speaking through experience. what meds did they prescribe you?

Also I am incredibly unbalanced and all of these symptoms worsened after my last concussion which happened to be my fifth. From this one I had a report of severe concussion with mild amnesia, which four months later has not gone away. I also exhibit no abnormalities in my eyes. Sorry I forgot to include this before.

Ok so about 7-8 months ago I suffered a concussion and was off work for quite a time I am getting back to it now.

when some one suffers from concussion at what stage shold they be taken by ambulance to hospital. Does that happen if the person has a long period of unconsciousness or just with any unconscoussness? if when they wake up they have a dazed and confused look on their face and then when they try to stand up they loos there balance should they be called and ambulance and be taken to hospital. At what point should a ct scan be done?

After concussion or impact such kind of symptoms like loss of smell or taste and other symptoms may be common due to extent of damaged part of brain and may remain symptomatic or progress in future. Although any sure success cure can not be assured in such cases, but symptomatic relief or it may decrease with period of time, physiotherapy, avoiding any triggering factors and life style modification help you in certain extent.
