Avatar f tn Does it sound like he needs to seek medical help for the concussion considering he never received any after-care and continued to drink on the concussion? Its been about 10 months since this happened so it is likely that he could still be suffering from the after affects of the concussion? Thank you for your time.
Avatar m tn Thank you Doctor Mathur. More to the point, during the concussion can a person appear as if they are functioning normally and be oriented to time and place? My experience was being taken to the ER, after several blows to the temple area of my head, where I was reported to have been Ox3 upon examination and denying a loss of conscientiousness. Yet I cannot remember the time in the ER until shortly before. This is highly perplexing to me. Can that happen?

602261 tn?1252583158 Sorry to hear about the concussion man! If you think you need to go see a Dr, go to a close by urgent care center.
Avatar f tn Loss of consciousness isn’t required for a diagnosis of concussion or post concussion syndrome. Post concussion syndrome occurs within first 7 to 10 days and until 3 months. Symptoms are variable including dizziness, fatigue, irritability, anxiety, insomnia, loss of concentration and memory, light and noise sensitivity, headache varying from a tension type to cluster headaches. You need to consult a neurologist immediately.
Avatar m tn My daughter has hit her eye and we are worried about a concussion.
Avatar m tn I went to a basketball game in Scotland about 4 days ago and I got hit in the back of the head really hard. I felt a bit dizzy and sick afterwards. Now my head is starting to hurt and my vision is a bit blurry. Could I be concussed?
Avatar m tn Is the diagnosis similar between a concussion and intoxication? If so, in what ways? i.e., with the pupils, when doctor shines light in eyes, motor skills, etc. In what ways are they different? What if you have/are both at the same time? Can they be possibly confused or synonymous?
Avatar f tn Had a concussion several weeks ago with instant headache & nausea which have gotten worse. Already had 2 CT scans without contrast, showing they were normal. The headaches and nausea are pretty bad daily, have gotten worse since the concussion. I'm now scheduled for an MRI scan, should I do it with or without contrast. Have read so many negative things about getting it with the contrast.
Avatar n tn Thank you for taking the time out to respond to my question. I just had one more. A couple a days ago I noticed that he now has two knots on his spine at the top of his neck in between his shoulder blades that sticks out really far when he puts his head down to his chest. could that be from him falling backwards before and is just now showing up. Again thank you for your time.
Avatar f tn Thanks! I'll take a look at that website!
Avatar f tn Ok so about 7-8 months ago I suffered a concussion and was off work for quite a time I am getting back to it now. My question is can suffering a concussion cause depression and suicidal thoughts as well as self harm? Basically when I was a teenager I was suicidal and a cutter and haven't done anything like that since, until I got the concussion and a few months into the treatment etc I started cutting again and feeling suicidal.
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with a mild concussion a little under a week ago. i am scheduled to have a full optometry exam (dilation of the pupils) done tomorrow. Is it ok to still have that exam done?
Avatar m tn The first day when i had Injury went to urgent care. they did concussion test( eye moving, ear, eye moving and dental) . in ER also they did same thing.
Avatar n tn Your symptoms could be due to migraine or PCS ( post concussion syndrome ) because of the concussion that you had years ago. Please go for an MRI brain to know the exact cause and consult a neurologist for treatment as a delay could be dangerous. There are chances of getting a stroke. Hope this helps you. Take care and regards !
Avatar f tn Hi, The symptoms that your husband describes may be those of Post Concussion Syndrome. Post-concussion syndrome, is a set of symptoms that a person may experience for weeks, months, or occasionally years after a concussion, a mild form of traumatic brain injury. Symptoms may include headache, difficulty concentrating, irritability etc.
1614777 tn?1298483489 I did have a bad concussion in 1982 due to a bad car wreck. I was wondering if this concussion had any correlation with my floaters, the floaters seem to have come on 6-9 months after the concussion, I also have some brain fog, just looking for answers and more than an eye doctor, would you recommend a neurologist? I jsy want to feel better and not live my life like this.
Avatar n tn As you know, a "Grade 1" concussion is the mildest category. That being said,m there is no such thing as a "harmless concussion", and in the final analysis Lacross is a meaningless activity. Missing a season is not worth a lifetime of problems. I am somewhat concerned he did not have an MRI, and insofar as school authorities are mandated to pick-up-the-bill, this non-invasive test should have been provided.
Avatar m tn Was intoxicated. Had a huge lump. Went to Urgent Care 3 days later, no need for a CT scan just a mild concussion. Did not have any symptoms beside bruised head. Next day, I was very, very dazed. Felt like I was in a dream Day after that had some mild headaches. Went to my regular GP 3 days later. Again, no need for CT scan just had a mild concussion. I have severe anxiety.
Avatar f tn I play softball in college and about 3 weeks ago i was hit in the head with a bat right above my left ear. My coach gave me a concussion test and my head was hurting pretty bad throughout the day. The next day it wasnt bothering me too bad so I didnt go to the doctor to see if i did have a concussion. Well ever since that weekend, i have pressure headaches on the right side of my head.

Headachs and all have seem to stop other then my sinues hurt and theres still some pressure in my head but i think all thats from the sinues. At the time of the incident i didnt lose conciness or black out or throw up. Like i said i went to urgent care 8 hours later he checked me out and said mild concussion.
Avatar m tn turns out it was a post concussion thank you for your help:)
Avatar f tn My friend recently got kicked in the head at a soccer game now whenever she moves her head the inside of her head hurts where she got kicked. Is this just a concussion or worse? She doesn't want to go to a doctor until after the season is over.
Avatar f tn Hello, Im almost 100% certain that it wouldnt be a concussion. Even though the back of the head is the worst spot you can get hit or fall on, you would still be having tremedous pain along with other symptoms like dizzyness, blurryness, tiredness. Im sure you just had a bit of a headache for awhile.
